Well, no headache yesterday after dose 2. No other side effects aside from a bad aftertaste for awhile. Don't feel any better or different though so I'm not sure this stuff will cure me.

I remember a metal-like taste too now that I think about it. I took 4 doses (each 7 days apart), but also along with permethrin for a double whammy. Ivermectin by itself takes longer based on the experience of other people. Mike and his wife needed 8 doses. Don't get discouraged. Be careful too. I don't like to see people get too complacent about the safety of any drug.

Did you happen to check out if you could get Permethrin online anywhere that would ship to Canada? It's just that the two meds working together are a sure kill, in my opinion.

Good luck, praying for everyone here to get cured of this.

I've been looking but I don't really wanna use any more of that. I've done about 8 doses of permethrin already battling this and I was hoping to not use anymore of it. I'm hoping to be done with this too tho and will keep dosing. I'm being as careful as I can, just want it over.

I've also tried sulfur, borax, neem, enzymes and other essential oils. I tried benzyl benzoate as well. These things are relentless.

No really changes this week Katee. I'll probably have to get some permethrin to work with this ivermectin or my dosage is wrong or i need to take it more than once a week. I'm reading up on it as much as I can now.

Well, again it seems to take longer for ivermectin by itself. Even with the permethrin, it took 4 weeks for me, and right now I'm not sure again. I have a doc appt next week, so I'll see what he says because I still get itchy rashes so it might still be hives, but also getting the small and large itchy blisters again. He's just going to tell me its post scabies itch but I'm tempted to go back with the ivermectin and its getting harder to resist the temptation.

Anyway, did you ever get a diagnosis?

Yes I did and was prescribed permetherin twice. I went back to explain I wasn't cured but I was told there's no way I could not be. Then I found this place and read some stories that sounded similar to mine. I'll probably continue with dose 3 this week and go from there.

Katee did you start dosing yourself again with the Iver?
I've done 3 doses now each a week apart. I'm considering upping my dosage to more than once a week. I wish I knew that this was going to work for sure.
I've read some studies where they recommend like dosing on days 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 22, 29 for a total of 7 times.
Anyway just seeing about an update.

I'm tempted but no, still avoiding any meds right now because I'm not sure what is going with me. I have intense itching/rashes but no new marks, so this might still be a reaction to an antibiotic. I see my derm on Tuesday.

I would rather someone else who has used ivermectin successfully tell you about their experience. I've not had any luck with ivermectin by itself, but then I only used it alone for 2 doses, and that was a prescription of stromectol not the injectible ivermectin. I don't know about a dosing schedule like that, sorry. I read people have done that too. Mike said he used it every 7 days for 2 months, but again, he used stromectol pills. I'm not sure if there is a difference.

Do you get lesions? Still after the ivermectin?

And the blisters I was getting were with the hives which the doc said happens. They disappeared when the rashes did, so again I don't know what is going on. I don't want to jump to conclusions and start meds again unless I have to. My liver has been through enough this year.

Hi thanks for the update. I got a few lesions more like bites I guess after the ivermectin. I'm going to get some permetherin and probably do a tag team on my next dose. I don't know if Mike is still around or not, this thread has been quiet aside from myself and you.

I'm thinking i"m going to up my dose to every 4 days. I've read a few other threads and some posters have stated that. If i've had this as long as I think I have it would be a faster way to break their cycle.

Mike are you still around?

yes, i am still hear and just stopping in now and then to read posts. Both My Wife and Myself are doing pretty well, with only little itching now and then. Going back to see the derm soon for a check up.

Do you have any more info on your dosing with ivermectin?
Did you do it just once a week for 8 weeks without permethrin or any topical?
Or did you do it more than once a week?

I did a lot of what others tried on here, but it didn't work for me. I used the cream three separate times alone, but it didn't help. I took sea sale baths, borax baths, used lotions etc over the time period. Eventually i got a hold of ivermectin from india and took it first and it helped but i believe i didnt take it long enough. Second order i bought enough for 2 months straight (once a week). We took it all, and that was the first time I felt like the itching was different then before. From there, it keeps getting better each day. All along still washing daily, occasionally soaking in borax or sea salt, or something else. Now I am doing the pills I mentioned above and wiping down about twice a week with the cream the derm prescribed. I fell pretty good, actually.

just to clarify the pills I am now taking are in an earlier post of mine. I am not talking about ivermectin. I think some mb used the iver with the cream and got results too. This stuff is not easy to get rid of. I spent lots of money on home remedy stuff over the year period with little results.
