I don't know about those drops, seems to me if they are meant for birds or small animals that it wouldn't be near what you need for a human. I would buy the ivermectin injectible from amazon for cattle/swine, and no you don't use the syringe for anything other than measuring the amount for your weight. Then squirt into a glass of juice or something and drink it. No one on these forums has ever suggested anyone should give themselves a shot so I hope you know that.
Hi Jackie, I got the pin pricks mostly on my feet and small tiny red marks were showing up but now that has stopped. However I was spot treating with permethrin. I seem to be getting red bumps on my back again though. I even have a Celestron microscope for my computer, and everytime I feel crawlies I use it to try to catch something. I never see anything tho, then again I'm not sure it is powerful enough to see a mite. And I really don't have any idea what a real mite would look like because all I've seen are the ones online and those aren't a good reference.
My doctor said to expect this to happen so we'll have to keep up with eachother over time and see how it goes. March seems like a long time ago to still be feeling this tho. How were you treated?
In March I had used iver pills 2 6mg pills. I got them from Mexico. I also did that 2x in March before that I had did p-cream 5x in dec and 6x iver dec-jan. I would think that the pin prick and crawling sensation would have stopped by now. Not sure what's going on. No lesions, or rashes :-( so confused

Sorry to keep posting!! I just had another observation about the pin pricks and/or crawlies. When my skin is calm, it's calm all over. When I feel crawlies begin, it's never only one spot. It seems to be in many different places, and to me that seems to suggest that maybe it is a nerve ending issue. I'm sure mites don't have cell phones and coordinate their attacks at the same times. Again, just an observation, trying to figure stuff out.
Do you feel the crawling all over? I will feel them in my legs or arms, worse are scalp. Did your doc say you should expect that. I have a horrible doc she thinks scabies are not a big deal I went to two diff ones. Please don't feel bad posting!

Itchee, people have used the ivermectin paste for horses. There would be a little guesswork on how much to take based on the weight doses posted on the plunger part of the tube because they are meant for horse weights. That would be internally (tastes pretty bad though) and it's the cheapest one to use. I've used it but my personal feeling is that it was not as effective as the injectible ivermectin. It also made me break out in a rash around my mid section for some reason.

The first two weeks, my doctor prescribed permethrin and stromectol pills (6 3mg pills each week). For the last two weeks I continued treatment with permethrin and Vetrimec 1% injectible ivermectin (which I drank in orange juice) that I bought from Amazon. I used a syringe only to measure out between 1.4-1.5 ml's and squirt it the juice. Like I said before, you can get the injectible ivermectin and syringes all from Amazon, or some people have said they got it from Farm supply stores. You can get permethrin from Amazon too but I can't vouch for the effectiveness of that because its from another country and I didn't try it. You should have at least 60mg of permethrin per treatment.

I can only tell you what I did, you should make up your own mind about it. It was scary for me to take animal meds, and I did have a bad reaction to the ivermectin on the 4th week of treatment so I stopped and will not take any more. Take care.

Oh Itchee, make sure you get the paste that ONLY lists 1.87% ivermectin as the ingredient, nothing else. There are some that have other pesticides included so stay away from those!

Hi Jackie,
I feel crawlies on my hips and thighs, sometimes on my scalp and face. It is lessening every day. The pin prick bites did not happen today.

Time to get another doc. I went thru 5 before I finally found one worth a darn (and I work in healthcare so I find that really pathetic!). If you can see a doc, find a derm and only make an appt after talking to either his assistant or the doc and ask if they have experience with curing scabies. All the other docs I went to were clueless, but this one has cured people with crusted scabies and really has up to date information.

Yes, he said to expect all of those symptoms including more lesions.

I would be confused by your symptoms too, having the itching/crawling/biting but no marks is weird. I remember reading somewhere online that the post scabies symptoms can last up to even a year later due to the chemicals we use on our skin.

Have a nice Labor Day!

Thanks Katee.

Do you happen to know the brand that is only Ivermectin without any other adders? I'm not sure which type to get.

I found a doc not a derm I am working with going to meet with her tomorrow. Maybe it's fungus. I'll see. Just want to wipe this nightmare from my memory. How long have been dealing with this?

I'm sorry to hear that Bob, I've seen your posts on other threads.

Itchee, I don't feel comfortable recommending any of the veterinarian ivermectin pastes because I don't feel they are safe. I used paste and each time got a huge rash across my stomach after ingesting it, painful raised rash, that I did not get when using the injectible ivermectic. I'm not sure that what I used was ok. If you look at some of these threads, or back to the beginning of this one, you can probably find that information if you really want to try it.

Hi Jackie, my doc today said all four of my biopsies (he took off any bump I thought was suspicious) and they were all folliculitis. None were "consistent with the bite of an arthropod" as they were in the past. So now I have antibiotic pills and cream.

He said my skin is hypersensitive from the harsh chemicals. I kind of believe it because every day I'm getting better (no more pin pricks all of a sudden). Time will tell and I'm hoping and praying it really is over. Kinda hard to give up the fight and heal, my brain is resistant!

Just to summarize for others: I had 2 treatments of permethrim 5% and stromectol by prescription, 7 days apart. Then I was paranoid so I did 2 more treatments of permethrin 5%(by prescription) and ivermectin injectible (from Amazon, based on Americangirl's dosage chart) another 7 days apart. So 4 consecutive treatments in total all 7 days apart. Cautiously optimistic.

THanks Katee,
I will avoid the paste then but would you say the injectible is safe to use with the syringe like you mentioned earlier? I will avoid that and try the injectible if you've had good results with it.

Congrats Katee! That's great news that the bites are not scabies. I have been dealing with this for 1 year though my symptoms have changed. I was soo itchy I would scratch all night long, after I did p-cream I felt 80% better but I started having crawling sensation after the cream. I thought maybe its a side effect, but it's been 9 months since my last p-cream and 6 months since my last iver treatment. Skin looks good no rashes. Even my scars have disappeared...I would say I had morgellon but I don't have threads coming out. Pinprick usually on the same leg....confused

Itchee, I keep getting the feeling that you think you need to inject the ivermectin. NO!!!!!

There are syringes that are blunt tip fill type meant only for measuring. YOU DONT STICK THEM IN YOUR BODY. All you do is stick it in the bottle and pull out the amount of liquid for your body weight (look at Americangirl's chart on the very first post, or second, I forget). Then squirt it into a drink and drink it. You can use any type of measuring device that measures in ml's, doesn't have to be a syringe.

Good luck, I'm going to check in with you all after some time with any update. I can tell right now it's a rollercoaster because I feel terrible today with itching and crawling. Oh well.

Jackie, this thread was from 2007 but I think it might be of interest to you. They are talking about the post scabies symptoms such as pin prick bites. I'm not sure what these symptoms mean, but it seems universal after treatment.

Hi sorry for the confusion Katee, I know that I'm not supposed to inject it, I just was a bit confused about using the syringe to get it out of the bottle don't worry I would never inject myself with anything. I appreciate the responses and hope we get clear soon. I will be trying this shortly and will post back with any update as well. Thanks again.

Can't get the Noromectin in Canada either and Amazon won't ship here. Any other suggestions?

Itchee, are you not able to see a doctor there? You need at least 2 doses of permethrin 5% and stomectol (I did 4 because I'm paranoid!). I don't know about Canada and I hope someone from there can help answer that for you. I would not dink around with it though if you can see a doctor instead. It just prolongs the agony. I had this for over a year but my problem was always finding a good doctor who knew about scabies. It's important to ask questions before you even make that appointment! Sorry I'm not much help.

I did find a good doc and so far he is spot on with what he told me to expect with post scabies.

How are you feeling? Are you still crawling?
I'm pretty sure that I don't had scabies. I think I have rodent mites. I believe I had scabies and I'm lucky enough to get another mite. I have a 3 bites in a row on the left side of my face. I put alchol on my scalp....it's suppose to killings on site....lets hope so. So you have had this a year? Has the symptoms changed within the year?

I have been fighting this for 4 months now and am pretty much cleared up I think. I'm still using the liquid Iver 2x per week and washing bedding in hot water every day etc. I'm afraid to stop after Fred saying that NOBODY was ever cured using the Iver. Once I stopped using the perm weeks ago a lot of the crawling and muscle twitching stopped. HAS anyone ever been cured using the Iver? It seems like they have when I read back in the forum.

Yes many have. Like you said if you read through the form many have been cured using iver. Sometimes people on this forum just want to evoke fear. Congrats on being cured,
