One thing we need to remember is just because something works or doesn't work for another person, doesn't mean it works or doesn't work. All our bodies are different, and react differently to everything. Some things that work for me might or might not work for the next person. We take risk every time we use anything outside of a Doctor Prescription (and then even at times with DR Prescription). I can't believe how some certain people on here claim you can't be cured, yet turn around and attack another who claims to have been cured. This forum is suppose to be to help each other. It doesn't accomplish one thing to attack each other on this forum. No one gains from anything doing that. I have noticed it is usually the same few doing the attacking too. Some people need to grow up!

"in the 5 weeks you have not seen mites correct? Have you had any bites??

I have not had any bites since Jan.1 and I have not seen any mites, atleast none that I know of. My magnified is a 30x, so it does not let me see the mite like a micrope would.
My husband and I decide to start sleeping on our bed, I have both covered (top and box spring) with bed bug mattress protectors the ones you zip your mattress up in the protector. I have brought a few bags back in the house (clothing) and hung in our closets.
All my itching has stopped but now I feel like something is crawling on me again. I have no new bites and neither does my husband, but my son has found a place on is finger that looks like what he had before. Could be feces coming to the surface? He says it does itch. He has been nowhere to come in contact with the mite again, unless when he and his dad went to the barn. He thinks it could be rat mites, I am not convinced. He wants to take the ivermectin again tomorrow. his dad says no.
On my last dose my face pretty bad, left side, it took several days for it to go down, also it has swelled a few times since but not as bad as the that time. Also my husband and I have both experience vision blur, not sure if that will correct itself.
So praying all this is post scabies and not a re-infestation. If it is scabies then I believe we did not get rid of all of them while taking the iver.
Still bagging the dirty clothes, washing in hot water and taking to the dryers(laundry mat). Washing with tea tree or sulfur soap. still vacuuming. STILL IN THE FIGHT !!

I was told that post scabies can make you still itch for up to six weeks after your last treatment. We are at the same point it appears as you. No new bites, but I feel like I am still itching at times, but not as bad as before. We still watch close, and clean daily.

If you don't have any bites and no rash, sounds like it worked. I agree with you and keep up the cleaning. It sucks because you never really know if your cleared. I did the animal iver for 5 weeks, but last week I received the pill version. I did it Friday. I had the same issue, blurred vision when I would do the liquid iver.
Maybe you have bird mites? I pray you and your family are better!

Peace if you had blurred vision I would definitely watch out for that Sh*t I need as many battle buddies as I can get during this time. We are all going to get better I have learned after reading hours and hours on this forum (which I wonder if it help or did more mental damage) and other forums and most everyone gets cured (90-95%) and that it just takes time. The last thing you wanna do is overdose on horse ivermectin and end up being a vegetable or use 20 tubes of perm on your face and have spasms forever. We are all going through this together and just like people who posted years ago on these forums that have come and gone because they got cured, so will we. Keep your heads up, congrats to those who are cured, and pray for those who are not better yet. At least we are not dealing with crusted scabies, herpes, HIV, AIDS, teen pregnancies, family deaths. We somehow contracted a tiny motherfu**ing pain in the ass mite from hotels, man camps, ex gf's, one night stands, best friends, or family members. Keep on trucking! Life is beautiful I even took the harley out yesterday and rode just to clear my mind! I don't know any of you personally but I love each and everyone of you for the struggle that we are facing together. We will get through this, and I'll always answer emails from people who just want to vent or talk.

Absolutely because the Dr's think once dose of perm should treat it when you need two and in some cases iver. It's old school medicine, but we will get through it. go Ravens! lol

Hello everyone, I'm so glad that I stumbled upon this forum, although getting ride of these bastards would be better!!! I've came to the conclusion that I'm going to try the injectable 1.5% Ivermectin and take it orally like most other people, along with using the remainder of my second bottle of 5% Permethrin topical cream. I guess I can say I have a more mild case of scabies than a lot of others out there, but they just keep coming back and am really suffering as I am only averaging 3 hours of sleep a night since I am CONSTANTLY itching! As simple and dumb as this may sounds, I want to ask when I should wash and decontaminate during this new treatment plan of mine? As a college student I've blown over $40 on wash in the last six weeks alone thinking that the more often my bedding was clean, the sooner I would be scabies free.
Someone please answer this for me and incude any additional advice that may be helpful...thanks!!

to keep from washing all the time you can place you sheets in a bag then place them in a freezer (zero degrees) for 12hours. That should help on the washing of your sheets daily. Hope this helped.

Iver. can be gotten from feed stores such as Tractor Supply and others. Go by the chart on the 1st post for dosage. There are side affects from using this so please look up Ivermectin side affects on the internet and read before you take it. All of us in my family experienced swelling, me in my face and feet, my husband in his feet and my son in his neck gland. My husband and I both got blurred vision which has not corrected, so that means a new pair of glasses. My son and I could get a rapped heart beat, this was a little scary, but it did stop after one to 2 days. We took it 5 times, every 7 days. My son has been delivered for the mites. My husband and I still have them, not as bad. I bag everyones clothes seperate and wash them seperately as not a infect my son again.

I have used pokeweed root for 10 days. I researched and found it was a old remedy that the Indians used. I have boiled the root. amd put it in a spray bottle. Coated myself down, rubbed it in 1-2 minutes with a wash clothed coated in the liquid then showered off. I burns like fire where there is a burrow, but it killed the burrow. The next day the burrows were healing up. It also killed the female bugs in the red bumps. All my burrows and red spots are gone. I had a few (5-6)red spots on me and only 2 burrows that I could find and they were small, I am sure it was because the iver had worked. So from what I have read I am MITE FREE. I still itch sometimes. My husbands spots and burrows are gone as well. He never did the poke root, but would just wipe the area with 5%perm solution. I have been putting all my clothes back in my closet today. Glad to wear more colors then black or black and white. (those were the only ones I left out to wear). I pray for the ones who are sincere to finally be delivered for mite. And the others who post crazy comments and unuseful jargan please stop. (Oh, if you are from the South you will know what poke root is and where to find them)

Got a month's dosage of the pill to take friday. Took three 6mg pills since i weight about 175. So far, so good. I think I was about over it anyway, but I want to be sure. I will take 18 mg each week for four weeks and hopefully there is nothing left as far as parasites in or on my body. Not much itching at all. :)

I've eaten a lot of horse paste but it didn't work so i'm tryimg it topically. From reading these posts and what i've done in the past i believe it's pretty hard to OD topically.
i rubbed 2-1/2 syringes(1250 lb horse each) of durvet horse paste on myself yesterday and 2-1/2 tubes today, no ill feelings whatsoever. Hope this works..........
Wash clothes with regular laundry detergent plus add 1 cup of Borax to the laundry as well. Wash and dry on high heat. You can also make a paste of peroxide and borax and cover your body from chin down to soles of feet. Kills mites on body and helps to heal the skin. You can do borax with liquid body soap as well. Best thing for cure is to continue laundry cycle with Borax and treat with Permethrin, leave your home for 3-4 days, take ivermectin, treat with permethrin again before returning home. Keep all clothes not laundered tied up in bags in car trunk for at least one week. Mites are supposed to die in the environment without a host in 3 days.

Hi. I'm new to this thread, although I have been reading it since it started. I try to learn as much as I can by reading everyone's comments. Somebody please let me know the answers to some questions really soon, since I don't know how much longer I can hold on. I've been battling this mite since last August and I already am hoping that I get in a car crash or something and don't come out of it. I probably had it since before then, but it just got really bad last August and made myself go to the dermatologist.

I've taken Stromectol (ivermectin) 3 separate times before and had no side effects from it at all. All my dermatologist would give me was five 3% tablets each time. Took 1 pill each day for five days the first two times two weeks apart, and 2 pills+2 pills+1 pill for 3 days the third. I really got no definite instructions from the doctor, so I took it as well as I could figure out. I think I still have the hatching eggs/juveniles and really, really am sick of it! Now the doctor won't prescribe any more Stromectol, says it's too toxic; won't prescribe Lindane--says I'm overtreating and I should expect these itches and stings. Only prescribes Perm cream 5%. I just used more allover Perm last night, bombed my home with Raid Funigator permethrin today, and got bitten again tonight anyway. I am very upset with the dermatologist for cutting me off and not even listening to me.

Anyway, I ordered two tubes of Durvet Ivermectin Horse Paste 1.87% from eBay and I think it will be delivered tomorrow (Wednesday, 2/20). First question: How exactly should I take it? I want to take it orally. Hopefully Durvet is a good brand...? I just got something that didn't cost too much and I didn't have to order 20 tubes of it at once, you know what I mean? I weigh about 123 pounds. I don't want to make myself sick, or take too little. As I said, I didn't have any side effects in the past.

Second question: I also have some K9 Advantix II for large dogs, a 2-pack. It say 44.00% permethrin on the label, along with Imidacloprid 8.80%, Pyriproxyfen .44% and other ingredients 46.76%. Would a stronger dose of Perm cream help? Should I water this down with something else and try it?

I've already tried the sulfer, Neem oil, etc., and only knocked this thing back for a while, then it came roaring back. I should tell you that I live with an adult son who has battled these mites too, but not as bad as I have; and i have a husband who shows no symptoms at all. Both of them have been treated with Perm cream 4 or 5 times, and only once with the Stromectol. My son is getting better, but my husband is getting impatient and tired of all this--doesn't quite understand all the fuss, since he has no symptoms at all. He's probably a carrier big-time. I haven't been able to even cuddle him for months now. I have treated this house and my laundry and carpets, etc. many times. I am at the end. I can't live with this any more.

Oh, yeah: One last question. Has anyone taken Lindane lotion, and did it help? Does it really kill the eggs, stoo, as well as the adults? Is it banned here in the U.S. or not?

Please help. Thanks to everyone for any suggestions. This is it.

Hi again. I wanted to say that I know that a chart was given on the first page about how much ivermectin to use. I'm not trying to waste anyone's time by having you repeat what's already been said in this forum, but I did get confused about what to take for someone my size (about 123 pounds) who seems to be resistant to Perm but toleated Stromectol very well. I also wanted to know if anyone had used the Durvet brand--is it good, or is there a better one out there? It has to be taken on an empty stomach, right? And how to mix Advantix II...what simple cream or lotion can I mix Advantix with and in what proportion so it will work but won't burn a few layers of skin off at the same time (although that may just help get rid of this bug from hell!). I truly appreciate all answers. Take care, everyone.
