Does anyone know if it's possible to drown scabies. For instance if you were to lie down in a tub with your head emerged all the way with just your nose sticking out would this drown them? If they can breathe underwater then for how long?? Any help would be great!

It seems that many people have tried it and it wasn't very effective. Since most of us have found that they can survive the laundry to a degree, it probably isn't anything to rely on. Definitely submerge entirely because many have found that they migrate to the scalp after baths. I felt them burrow DEEPER in the tub. But what do i know, I have a flaming case of delusional parisitosis (or so I've been told...). Good luck.

I have been on anew site that was recommended to me by Joe (sweet Joe has been so good to us) it is birdmitesorg not much is happening on the site today b/c everyone had a big falling out yesterday. You can read about that on the site if you go back a couple of days. But there is some pretty interesting treatment methods, some that you may use caution with. But some of these will probably be very beneficial. I have enjoyed the site--quite a colorful crew--but some of the color got banned from site last night

They don't drown, the only way to fight them is with treatment, and they will migrate to your scalp by bathing, I had a bad case in my scalp, the iver did help there, that and permethrin combined.

well i have used permethrin about 4 times now and malathion another 4 times and although i don't have many bites i STILL do have some. I've been soaking in the tub like crazy and it seems to help, but i was just wondering if i was wasting my time trying to drown them. I did the mad cleaning etc...but it really hasn't made a differnence as i still have them so cleaning/freezing/drowning/tre atment only help but can't seem to get rid of them It seems wheterh i go mad trying to treat or do nothing but simply apply the meds i get the same result so am thinking it's pointless to do all the extra stuff now as i still have them-the last two weeks i've done NOTHING to treat/clean/all the tips etc...and i have them just the same as if i were to do everything under the sun...makes me think they are really just on body/under skin and not so much in clothes/carpet/shoes/furniture / etc...
I don't know i'm just rambling but am so sick of this! Thansk for listening

When I had scabies it was the most horrible thing , I felt uncomfortable around everyone and thought it would never end, there is a quick way to end your breakout safely. Permethrin does not work folks if you have had scabies for a couple weeks and it is dangerous.

Swimming does not affect them.
I have been swimming daily for an hour for a long time
but it has had no effect on them whatsoever.

A woman insisted I go to a sulpher hot springs and got judgemental when I didn't. I didn't know at the time that the mites live too far down in the skin to be killed by that. My instincts told me it would kill surface mites but nothing else.

Scabies is the worst thing that can happen to a teenager.I've gotten scabies three times through out my whole life. And the way I got rid of them Is by showering with.Sulfur soap, apply ulesfia on head and thin layer through my whole body. And stay still for 13 minutes then rinse. After shower use up a whole tube of permethrin all over my body. And let it dry before you sleep it takes less then a month for it to completely go away.If your lucky 2 weeks the less.... B afraid...:/

scrub your skin with baking soda to create a microdermabrasion on all over your body. don't be afraid if you bleed a little. when your done rinse and wash of. then run a bath add bleach to the bath soak for as along as you would like. get out of the bath don't towel dry instead blow dry your body with blow dryer hot on high. when your completely dry drench yourself in olive oil from the neck down. get dressed as usual. the olive oil helps with the itch plus helps heal the skin from all the scratching. you must be consistent with this remedy. it has to be done every single day until you are bug free. always wash your sheets, pillows , pillow cases , everyday. it is hard work but will pay off. good luck!
