I've heard a number of people say that this works just fine, I'm poor and I don't have insurance so I can't get standard medications. Here's my breakdown:
one tube of paste has 0.113696 g = 113mg
I am 63.5kg
.2mg per kg so 12.7mg per dose
that's 8.89 doses per container
make sense?

If you are getting the 1.87 horse paste (which is actually an apple flavored gel that comes out of the tube at about 1/4" diameter)you can take an inch long dose of it if you are 150 lbs. This will make more sense when you get the product. Make sure you wait 24 hours after taking it before you take a bath or shower.
It's up to you how often you want to take the Ivermectin, but the minimum treatment is once every seven days to start with, so that you keep up with the breeding cycle.

Here are the best cheap and effective products that I would suggest in addition to the horse paste (all should be available at Walgreens):

-Grisi sulphur soap (10% sulphur soap found in the hispanic section -if your local Walgreens doesn't have that section, they can tell you the closest location that does). Use this in the shower and bath. Lather up with it and let it sit on your skin for 5 minutes or so, then rinse. Even using it like regular soap works well. Literally it is about 1.50 per bar.

-Pomada de Azufre sulphur ointment (also in the hispanic section) This doesn't smell bad like other sulphur products and is MUY effective. At first you can use it all over your body at night after a shower or bath. Put cotton socks over your feet after applying so that it doesn't rub off of your feet. For me it is a little strong, so I applied a skin oil first, let it sink in, then applied the Pomada de Azufre..that makes it apply easier also. Don't use it on your eyes or any thin skinned areas. I could only used it as a spot treatment on my face or neck because it is very strong. It's about 4.50 per tiny tub. A little goes a long way so just get two tubs to start with. Once you feel your situation has improved you can use it to spot treat any areas that flare up.

-Hydrogen Peroxide(3%) and Arm & Hammer Powdered Detergent, not the one with OXY, but any of the other scents (or Arm & Hammer Washing Soda). Use equal amounts of HP 3% and the detergent for your laundry, hot wash, hot dry. Also use it in equal amounts 3/4 to 1 cup in the bath if you have a tub. If you have a shower, make a spray bottle of 1/4 cup of each along with warm water and use it occasionally as your shower soap. Hydrogen Peroxide in a small spray bottle can be used to spray an itchie when you are out and about, also good to clean surfaces you touch, or your bed covers, you might want to add a scent to it. You can also sprinkle Arm and Hammer detergent on carpets, then vacuum.
Hydrogen Peroxide is on sale quite often, so grab the big bottles when you see a sale..1.50 a bottle.

-Selsun Blue Medicated Shampoo with selenium sulfide. OR Jason's makes a dandruff treatment shampoo with great ingredients, sulphur, neem, tea tree etc. on sale at Whole Foods for 8.00

-Lysol, either in the aerosol spray or the old fashioned mix it yourself formulation that you put in your own spray bottle with water. Use on all upholstery, on carpet in between vacuuming etc. If you use it in your car, wait a bit before getting in, as the aerosol formula isn't good to breath in.

Your biggest cost item would be the plastic covers for your bed and box spring. For pillows, just double bag them in garbage bags and duct tape (squeeze the air out of the pillows before taping the garbage bags)

Good luck!

Hi Going to Fix It,
Check out this article..scroll to the bottom for laundry soap recipe. This could work for you and would save you some money. With scabies / mites, there is a lot of laundry going on! I would still add extra washing soda to the wash and the hyrdogen peroxide when using the laundry soap recipe here.
