I have some prolate/lintox. It is an insecticidal spray and backrubber for livestock. It is used for sarcoptic mites. It has a really bad smell to it. I mixed a little bit in hot water today and went out in the back yard, and applied it all over me. Waited 6 minutes and then washed myself off in the hose. Then went inside the house and took a shower. My bra and underwear smell like petroleum and I can't get the smell out. This will either kill me or may kills some mites. I was speaking to a lady who does dog rescue and she recommended a petroleum based spray. Since I already had this stuff from when I had the dogs, I tried it on me. I have a headache now.
Mary Mary Lintox is really strong stuff. I spoke with the people that put out the Lintox. One of the strongest if not diluted right. I called the number on the back of the bottle this was awhile ago. I wasn't sure if Lintox was the same as Paramite, since Paramite is no longer sold in GA. it is the same. The man told me to use 1 ounce and no more on the dogs and it would be OK. But if you used more. Just please be careful it is dangerous.

I did use it on the dog's but at that time I think they were really infested and it didn't help much.
I'm glad you posted. I was worried about you using Lintox on your self. Did you get any side effects besides the headache?

No, I'm good, Fed Up. No more side effects. Maybe I'll do it again next week, if I need it. I used it on my dogs, too, but got my ass chewed out for that, because it smelled so bad. And I thought they would get sick, too. How are your dogs doing? Are they clear?

When I had scabies it was the most horrible thing , I felt uncomfortable around everyone and thought it would never end, there is a quick way to end your breakout safely. Permethrin does not work folks if you have had scabies for a couple weeks and it is dangerous.

Chiggers do not burrow under the skin and nail polish does not work in the way people believe. This is a very common misconception. Chiggers sit on the surface of the skin and inject their saliva into the flesh. The saliva contains digestive enzymes and liquifies the flesh which they then suck up the same way we might use a drinking straw. By the time you feel the itch, they have already dropped off. They are just mites which can actually be brushed off of the skin. The nail polish probably helps with the itching initially because of the acetate it contains but any relief will be short lived. The itching subsides over time as the "wound" heals. Nail polish will not eliminate scabies and you would have to use too much and make yourself sick.

I don't know if this works, but came across this in my research on natural remedies:
Cayenne pepper was described in the herbal book, The Badanius Manuscript, printed in 1552, for treating scabies. Cayenne will quite literally burn the scabies, without causing any health problems for the host. Most people who use it place large amounts of cayenne into a warm bath and remain in there for an extended time (until the water becomes cold). You can purchase cheap packets of cayenne from the "Mexican" section of many grocery stores. Remember to protect your eyes while handling or bathing in cayenne.

I can't give any credence to remedies mentioned in 1552, and not in legitimate medical literature since.

Sounds like a dangerous idea to me.

This very week I was thinking the same dmn Thing and if it didn't work I was gonna try again only this time I was gonna light it all on fire once it was on me. I asked my hubby if he would still love me if 95% of my body was covered in burns! Lol! Never thought of suicide In my life but this fiery burning itch has planted thoughts. I will NOT go years with this. Period. BTW he said yes he would still love me.:-) also, I have contemplated going to a field and digging until I can cover myself up to my neck and shooting myself like you would a livestock animal if it were diagnosed with the plague. Ha! I'm not going to do any of this because I love my kids even I CAN'T hug them

A Texas woman did Kerosene Oil on her scalp last October and told me it killed the crawlers but didn't penetrate the skin enough to kill all the female egg layers so she moved on to Clove Oil and said her results were better. She did say that both Kerosene and Clove Oils damaged her skin. I don't know if she was ever cured.

Based on my experience I think you have to be on a oral and topical treatment regime. Just doing one is not enough. Some people have to ingest triple doses of Ivermectin while rubbing on Advantix or Clove Oil to eventually be cured.
