Ivomec 1% dosage

After dealing with this for several months and using multiple tubes of Elimite, I finally found this forum! So this is the plan: Ivomec 1% Ivermectin Injection (50 ml $35.99 at Tractor Supply Co). According to my research my family of six should take 1 ml for every 110 lbs. Is this correct? When should we repeat the dosage?

I would like to treat our animals as well and I found the correct dosage for dogs (1/10 cc per 10 lbs of dog weight) but I cannot find the dosage for cats. Does anyone know?

Also, is this safe for babies?

Thanks in advance!

1 ml for every 110 lbs(human) is correct.

1 ml 1% Ivermectin Injection contains 10mg iver.

the dosage for Iver treatment is 0.2 mg per kg body weight

for a person of 50kg(110lbs), he/she takes 10mg iver which equals to 1 ml 1% Ivermectin Injection

The Merk veterinary manual has the dosage for ivermectin in cats. You can find it online if you google for it. Be careful giving it to cats; I dosed mine properly and had very bad reaction in one. Three days in kitty intensive care. She is small and 13 years old; I'm sure that contributed. My other cat was fine. Some breeds of dogs have a genetic defect in their blood brain barrier and will die from standard dosages of ivermectin. They include Aussies, English sheepdogs and cattle dogs among others. Dogs without this defect can handle ivermectin just fine. I'm not sure what to tell you about babies. I was a little leery of using iver on my kids. They cleared up fine with perm once I treated the environment.

Good luck with it. I feel for you...a family of six. Wow. That's hard.

I don't like taking ANYTHING, but I do take ivermectin and it helped a lot. I take the apple flavored paste 1.87 $6 per tube from feed store FOR MY HORSEY. 4 or 5 doses per tube. In Progresses thread here (good read) he suggested taking it at night with fat (milk, cheese, etc) and with a meal. I agree with that. In case of side effects like headache it's better to be home.

I took it 25 days straight last May with no ill effects. But that maybe overkill (lol) and every 3 days is fine in my opinion (that's the breeding cycle it seems). Every 7 days is TOO LONG to wait.
I still take it when I feel I need it.

I also got good results at the same time as taking Iver by using Pomado de Azufre Sulfer Cream 10%(for Acne) in a small yellow jar $5 at Walmart, CVS, Kmart in the Hispanic section of the pharmacy, 2x daily after showering over entire body for 30 days.

Good luck, and soak all laundry in hot water and borax overnight or for a few hours, then wash in HOT water, dry in a HOT HOT HOT dryer for 2 hours and double plastic garbage bags and seal. Put clothes in bags straight from the dryer without the cloth touching ANYTHING. no folding no touching anything. Clothes are heat sterilized and eggs are dead, no activity guaranteed in cloth. Think zero contamination. Take clothing out of bag for use one at a time with clean hands and arms and reseal asap. Borax is good. Arm and Hammer nonperfumed powder detergent is good. Iron's are good. Cloth ironing board covers are bad.

Hi itchygirl,

I saw your sisters posts. Lol.

I drove the entire country recently...whew! And felt 99.9 cured. No crawlies even in the rain / humidity. One tiny vibration in crown of head which is bugs hatching prolly.
I take iver for that.

Now I'm at my daughters in new mex and she has 2 dogs and we just confirmed a mouse. I cleaned entire house and did tons of her laundry in hot, and mopped wood floors with best yet cedarcide. When one dog visits I get crawlies. I want dogs bathed asap. I feel other peoples mites. Plus every mosquito gets me. My one itchy ankle spot is back and growing. I'm in sulfer tonight. I feel 97.0 cured. I felt hard little mean bites on feet or legs. They are either in me or from the floor from a dog...sarcoptic mites. She doesn't believe or want to hear.

I'm so happy that you are doing better. My sis is doing much better, too. She sent me a care package yesterday with all of her leftover Benzemul, perm, etc. So I guess she is finished.
My remaining problems seem to be animal related, too. I am almost there, but I think I will continue to fight this while my one cat is infected. She is itchy and losing hair on her face. I have broken down and ordered a gallon of Sulfur Lime and I am going to dip all of the animals weekly. Stinky, stinky. I have decided to wait until after my vet derm appointment on the 8th. I don't want to kill everything off so she can't get a sample off of the kitties. I have high hopes for her. I hope I am not disappointed again.
For your daughter's dogs you might want to bathe them in Hartz Ultra Guard. It knocks the crawlies off of my dogs for a week to 10 days. You can buy it at Wal Mart or Target. Unfortunately, it can't be used on cats. Good luck, Buggie. I'm happy you have come so far.

You can't use ivomec on your cat if you have no idea what is wrong with your cat. You must take the cat to the vet, let the vet do a scraping and then let the vet decide on what treatment, if any, the cat needs.

I have just recently been through the sarcoptic mites from a rescue dog... It infested my house, husband, cats and self! I could not get any vets to help at all because all of the skin scrapings came back clear! Finally found J R Enterprises online for the right dosage for dogs and cats. Ordered it and treated them accordingly. Nothing else would work and I also had to treat my home. As far as treating ourselves we stayed away from our home for a week, washed ourselves with a sulfur soap and I even got nu-stock a sulfur lotion for farm animals and treated spots that were persistent. So far we have been itch free and I am continuing to dose all my kitties every month with the ivermectin. For $25.00 you can get 60 ml. of their own special blend of .05% ivermectin. This includes a FREE measuring syringe! This amount will treat Five 35 pound dogs for 2 years.
I hope this can help anyone out there who is going through the same things we were. Vets only wanted to take our money and never helped with any of this!!!! I even wound up giving away the rescue dog to someone who had more money because I did not find this solution in time!!!! http://www.heartwormprevention.com/

folks I just wanted to update you guys on my vet said about using 1 percent ivermectin that is that a heartworm dose like what you would buy in the pill form if you're using the injectable solution from the feed store you only give them one tenth of 1 milliliter that's what's in an average Heartgard Pill no matter how big the dog is even if its a hundred pounds but this dose is for monthly heartworm prevention. for mange in cats or dogs the dosage is higher my vet told me in dogs it's .30 aka 1/30 ml. this is potent stuff folks be careful or you'll kill your pet.

It all depends on the weight of the animal. Pets weigh anywhere from 3 pounds to 100 pounds. It goes by weight. It's the very light weight animals that are most in danger of a toxic overdose. The dose is one tenth of a milimeter for every 10 pounds of body weight. Or 200 micrograms per kilogram of body weight. Half the people on this forum have no idea how to dose their pets, let alone dose themselves. You are right, this med is meant for large livestock, not small pets. Best to check with your vet and have the pet thoroughly checked for all parasites and infections and then treat. For heartworms, the dosage is much smaller.
For ecto parasites, the dosage is 200 micrograms per kilogram of body weight. DO YOUR RESEARCH.
@bamaboy, you have no idea how to dose this. Don't give advice when you just DON'T KNOW.

I use the ivermectin pills - 18 Mgs each day for three days, then wait 7 days before using for 3 days again. Sorry I can't help with Ivermectin injections.

The dosage of ivermectin is a little tricky for humans and especially for pets you will need some mathematical skills for figuring out the correct doses. But bear in mind: The wrong medical dosage of iver does not kill scabies, it makes you sick instead.
The correct dosage is 200mcg per kg body weight. For a 70 kg person the dose is 14 mg, and for a 100 kg person it's 20 mg. Don't mix up micrograms and milligrams, plz!

If the dosage it too high and it makes you sick, then isn't it killing scabies too? I have had limited success with ivermectin. I have a form of human mites I contracted from mice. They are very durable and ivermectin was not effective.

Ivermectin is a neurotoxin and nothing to play with! The same for Abenda. Although iver is a very safe medication, do not overdose it! The mites get killed by an average dosis but if you overdose, your body will suffer especially your heart, liver and kidneys. Correct doses and minimal repetitions are key! And believe me: Praziqunatel and prayers won't cure. But there's an advantage to prazi you do not need to shave anymore! And you won't need a sexual partner as well.
