disgnosed**********
I started itching from Jun 11th and my hubby had it from mid May. I was diagnosed as scabies on Jun 14th, but my hubby was misdiagnosed probably because he didn't get any bumps on his hands and private, while mine was typical.

treatment with doubt **********
My hubby and his parents didn't believe it was scabies, so my hubby just treated himself as allergy. I tried to use sulfur 10% on my legs for three days, but things still went worse. Then I applied sulfur 10% on whole body except face, neck, feet and private, still itching.
I went to see the 2nd and 3rd doctors. All of them said it was most likely scabies, although the scrab test didn't found mites. They gave me sulfur, lindan and engenol extract cream. I started whole boby treatment, but I didn't treat my private, because I didn't feel itch there, and doc said medicine would be to strong for this area. I didn't treaat my face, because I was told mites wouldn't go there.
My hubby went to see his 2nd doc who said it was not scabies, then his 3rd doc who said it was scabies. Anyway he started topical treatment too, but he did less as he was always on travel.

my baby is fine so far**********
My son is 1 year old. We live with my hubby's parents, and we visited my parents during weekends and stayed there overnight. Neither of them has problem so far. My baby had a few very red bumps, but disappeared the 2nd day without any treatment.
To avoide infection risk, my hubby's parents took my role to take care of my baby. I didn't show up in front of my son for 6 weeks, because as soon as he sees me, he cries for a hug and kiss. I know it hurts his heart.
I was told scabies was very easy to treat and I expected to be cure within a week. But when I found it was actually so difficult, I didn't dare to touch my son then, worrying what if scabies get onto his body. 6 weeks... hard time for baby and mom...

getting better but not cure**********
I did everything doctors asked me to do, topical treatement following instructings, cleaning the room and washed cloth and bed sheets... Things got better. Still itching but not so bad. However I still got new bumps, like 5 of them a day.... After two lindan and tons of sulfur and engenol extract cream, I went to see the 4th doctor. She checked my bumps and concluded that medicine worked. She said spot treatment would be good enough for me and a few new bumps was not a big deal. Not a big deal? I was still not able to touch my baby. It was a big deal!
My husband thought he was cure after 2 lindan treatments (eurex/cromiton in between). He stopped topical and asked me to do the same, because he believe the new bumps on my body could be reaction to topical med. I didn't do so. I just wanted a confirmed cure before I touch my son.
5 days later my hubby got more than ten bumps one night. Scabies came back. He started treatment again...

new info from internet **********
I searched internet before, but the chinese websites didn't give me much. Then I google and got to know perm cream. I ordered 3*30g from chemist direct. I though a single or at most two treatments would relief me. I put all my hope on it and waited 10 days for shipment.
After the 1st perm treatement, I expected a cure. To make sure, I still continues engenol extract cream treatment. Then wait and wait... Still, a few new bumps came out my skin. Perm didn't work, at least didn't worked once for all. God who can save me?

From my experience that Sulfer can work. You might want to do a stronger mixure lets say 15% mixture. Also I learned that mites are very hard to get rid of out of the clothes. If you can boil your clothes or use highest heat possible that would be helpful. Most of the time what people are dealing with is reinfestation where scabies will not come out of your clothes. If you can deal with the clothes then you will be on your way to a cure.

AL, I used to put cloth and bed sheet into microwave for 10 minutes (of course wet). Somebody reminded me microwave might not work, so I boil them now, I mean in boiling water for 10 minutes. It takes so much time, but I hope it kills all mites and eggs.

prepared for a long battle **********
I realized scabies was not so easy to get rid of as doctors said. I didn't expect cure in a fews days then. I prepared for a long battle. I made a two weeks plan:
at weekend I would use sulfur ointment because it is safe although it is a slow killer.
at weekdays I use Eurex (cromiton) and perm 5%. I didn't have many perm left so I couldn't rely on it too much.
At the same time I ordered more medicine. I got 50 of sulfur ointment 10g, 100 of Eurex 10g from local pharmacy, for myself and my hubby. I also tried to buy ivermectin and more perm from online pharmacy. They are still on their way. I am not sure if I can get them, because, you know, Olympics, liquid and cream may not be allowed to deliver to Beijing. My hubby also ordered some perm to another city, just in case my order is stuck.
I used to put wet cloth and bed sheet into microwave for 10 minutes, because we don't have hot wash machine here. Somebody on this forum said microwave might not be good enough, so I boil all of them now.
The 2nd battle started...

2nd battle, the first week *******
The first week, from Friday night to Monday morning I had sulfur ointment, still except face, scalp and private area. It was so hot in Beijing. Wearing sulfur was not a funny thing.
I happend to find this forum on Saturday. I was so surprised that so many people all over the world had the same problem. I read a lot posts, learnt a lot about medicine and environment cleaning. Unfortunatly most of products you mentioned are not available in China. I went to buy pet mites cleaning product and sprayed my wooden floor and furnitures. I used steam iron for non-washable shoes and sofa.
Things were not different. I still got a couple of new bumps everyday. I though that could be a reaction to sulfur, because sulfur made skin dry and thin.

2nd battle, the first week *******
Horrible thing happened. I felt itching inside my nose and anus. Itching was there for a few days already but I had never thought that could be scabies. From forum I learnt that someone (like Sam) also got infection inside nose, then I worn gloves and touched my nose and anus. God there were bumps! Then I applied sulfur inside. My anus stopped itching after a half hour, so I think it is scabies now. While my nose didn't get better, so that could be something else.
To be honest I was so scared. This thing is just so horrible and makes me so sick! I felt so helpless. Doctors can't help me because they don't believe scabies is a difficult problem. Medicine couldn't help me, because I had tried all I can get, sulfur, eurex, perm, lindan, engenol extract... So many people on this forum couldn't get rid of it for months and even a year! How long is it going to be on me?????

2nd battle, the first week *******
I couldn't do anything else but continued my plan, hoping for a miracle. I fighted with scabies not only for me, but also for my baby. I hadn't seen him for 6 weeks. When I showed up again, he remembered me but he forgot the word "mama" already. The good thing (also a bad thing) is he won't cry for a bug now. So I can play with him now, with gloves and cloth to cover my body. But I can't give him a hug and kiss because my neck and face are infected.

2nd battle, the first week *******
Last Thursday I went to see doctor. As soon as I told her I had treated for a month without cure, she shaked her head and concluded that I was overtreated. I don't know if I should believe her, but I will contunues my two-weeks plan, just in case... I can't put my baby in risk.

2nd battle, the second week *******
I took one day off for Friday, so from Thursday night I stared sulfur application again. I used 60g at a time (I only use 30g normally). Hot hot summre...it was 35C outside. Vaselin based sulfur is so thick and stricky. Plus I need to put on plastic gloves and cloths to cover the whole body, when I play with my baby. Can you imagine how I feel? But I have to be strong, for my baby, for his smile to me.
Yesterday, Friday, I didn't have new bumps.
Today, Saturday, I hope good things continues.....

Ok mom with scabies your story sounds liked most of our stories on here. Ok this is what I learned taking some advice on any website even this site can make you lost the battle. What I mean by that. When I first got this and I found this site and well all I kept seeing is PERM, PERM, PERM. So of course I ordered it. I had no idea the clothes are infected. So I thought regular wash would be ok. That is not enough. They say 130 degrees should kill the mites. I say no way. I think most effective is boiling your clothes very very hot. If you can get over 150 degrees and also you need to boil them longer then 10 minutes. Yes its alot of work but that is the only way of getting rid of this. When I realized the only way of getting rid of this was to go very hard and fast on these things. I did a very strong mix of 50% YES 50% mix sometimes I would put pure sulfer on my bumps. Thankfully My skin could handle that. I tell you I did this for over a month. But waiting out the mites as far as my clothes and such. I firmly believe it is always mostly in the clothes you wear. Thats where the reinfestation mostly comes from the clothes. I figured out that much as most of my bumps were were seems of shirts and pants would come from. UNTIL You get them out of your clothes the end won't be near..

Also you said you had lindane? You have a big bottle? I would use that as a clothes and environment spray. If you have a Spray bottle put lindane in there and spray your already worn clothing and do this every day up to a week. So what I am saying for each day spray the outfit you worn for the day. Put them aside and at the end of the week wash the clothes or boil them. Just a suggestion.

AL, 150 degree is 150F, not 150C, right? Now I boil my cloths and bed sheets. I mean, in boiling, 100C (212F) water for 10 minutes. I guess this is enough to kill any bugs, right?

AL, I used lindan as topical medicine for 3 times. It is like a cream. Can I put it in water and spray? Now I boil my cloths and bed sheets, and I spray environment using 0.2% of pyrethrin (this is a pet mites pour-on). I think my cloths and bed sheets are clean now, but how can I clean my laptop, cell phone, purse, etc. I have to use them day to day...

2nd battle, the second week *******
Yesterday evening, I found a few new bumps. I was a bit disappointed, but, nothing big. Maybe sulfur didn't kill all mites, maybe eggs hatched...
Today I got a bottle of sulfur power. I put a little in my 10% sulfur ointment to make 20%(I can't find 20% sulfur ointment in local pharmacy). Now I am wearing it from head to feet, except scalp. I am not sure if my skin can stand it, as it stings now.
Tomorrow morning I need to go to work, so I will stop sulfur ointment and turn to Eurex.

2nd battle, the second week *******
My family don't quite understand what I am going through. My hubby's parents had scabies when they were children. They cured by using 2-3 days of sulfur in oil (not sure of sulfur percentage though), and they didn't boil cloth and bed sheets. So they think I am over-cautious to this easy-treat scabies. I asked them to buy a new washing machine but they still shared the same one with me. I am tired of explaining, so I just don't use the washing machine any more.

Yeah boil your clothes longer. Give it 30 minutes. Then use lindane as the environment spray. I would use it straight no water no nothing. PERM is not strong enough especial %2 percent will do nothing to scabies.
