I must say this is waste of time sorry... I am not a new person here. I am an old timer. If you are going to do this you might as well try tetsmol soap. I battle this for quite a bit and got rid of these nasty critters!! Took sulfer without quitting non stop.

No not at all.. Just it's not easy to get rid of scabies if you had it for over 90 days. Alot of work for nothing. Buy the soap and shower daily until you get rid of them. Just looking back I done everything from Ivermectin, PERM, BB and other scabies medications. This is a long battle and you might as well find somthing that is least toxic because you will have to treat on a daily basis. This is why I went with sulfer mixture.

Oh my God, I am so happy to find this forum where people are actually getting results! Thanks so much for posting. I'm scared to use the Permithrin anymore since last time - my third time - I had involuntary nerve twitches in my arm when I woke up in the morning -after having it on all night. And it didn't seem to phase the little creatures at all.

Thanks so much Phoenix62 for sharing the details of your journey and your success. Also to Bill and other contributors. I've printed everything out and it has given me new hope. Can I get the Lubriderm at the Drug Store? I'm on my way now. I've been suffering with an ever increasing population for four months now. It would be heavenly to be able to hug my kids and my grandaughter again - not to mention my husband!!

Will let you know how things progress. Glad to find a community in real time.

Bless you all,
MR AL

Sulfer mix for over a month straight and you have to make sure that your clothes are scabies free. Scabies is very hard to get rid out of your clothes so what you can do is rotate your clothes out or get some cheap clothes for 2 week period while you treat. Read this link and you can use this soap daily until you get rid of them. If you had this for quite sometime you have to hit it with all you got. If not you will never get rid of them.. Some folks I remembered on this forum battle this for years on end..

I'm glad I decided to come back here and give an update:
My scabies are gone! I have zero return bumps. I'm confident in their erradication. When I first used this mixture, it seemed to have a rapid kill effect. When I made sure to allow them no safe place on me continuosly, they were wiped out. I got serious and didn't skip treatment.
Sorry, about not saying, the yellowness of the sulfer by morning would fade away into the quilt and towel. In the morning I only rinsed with water mainly on my head but completly into the shower. I would reaply at bedtime every night.
There is a generic Lubriderm, but I didn't trust that it was the same as the generic because I could feel a difference. Only the Lubriderm advertises the exfoliation properties. I think it was Sodium Hydroxide (Guessing).
Dear Phoenix62,

If you are still with us, would you please share if you shampooed your hair each night when bathing or did you let the sulfur mixture continue to seep in for the four day treatment? How long did you continue to treat your hair each night? Did you soak your head in the water with the bath?

Bill, I'm going to try your bath recipe tonight. Thanks so much.

In appreciation,
Rose

Hi there Mr. Al and all,

As far as clothes go, I have been told by a porfessional who deals with scabies that Borax in the wash will kill the scabies. Regrettfully, I did not get the amount - so I've been adding about a cup and a half to each load with hot water. Then at least 40 minutes in hot dryer.

Thanks for the tip and link for the tetmosol soap.

Mr. Al, how did you mix your sulfur? Did you apply it more than once a day?

Thanks again,
Rose

I am using several sulfur products which so far seem to be good combination that is working. I purchased the Humco sublimed sulfur from www.americarx.com and use that to soak. The amount I use depends on the amount of time I want to soak and how long I think I can stand the smell. The less sulfur I put in the longer I need to soak. Sometimes I add sea salt or borax. Then I am using a lotion with MSM (MSM is supposed to be a natural source of sulfur)and a shampoo with the same. The name is TriMedica Pure MSM lotion. These products do not smell horrific. Mane and Tail shampoo also has something that I think is related to sulfur. I used that until the MSM shampoo arrived and I could tell that it was freaking them out.

I put the shampoo on my head with a plastic cap and let it sit for 15-30 minutes (at the beginning I used a blow dryet to heat it up). Then I get in the tub, soak for as long as I can (min is 15 minutes)and then air dry. I apply the lotion all over my body (much like the perm). If I have areas that I am concerned about I add some of the sulfur powder to the MSM lotion to make a paste for spot treatments. I put liquid bandage over any spots where I think there might be a mite to suffocate them.

I have been using Borax in my carpets which seems to work. With these things though I always think you need a 1 -2 punch so I also purchased the FOOD GRADE Diatomaceous Earth and put that on the carpets (and my little dog who has some on her). I also sprinkled some in my bed.

I use a heaping cup of Borax in the wash (of course hot) and let it sit for at least 10 minutes before running the load. I recently starting skipping the last rinse cycle so that more of the Borax remains in the items washed.

At this point I cannot say I am cured yet but this morning I felt so much better than I have in a long time that I cried with relief. I hope and pray this works long term.

Good luck to everyone here.

Yes they say Borax will get rid of them but I truly disagree with that. I know I used to wash my clothes with it all the time but I would still get reinfected. Then I started to dry my clothes first and then wash them. Dry first and wash. I just mixed with Vasoline and yes I applied before going to sleep and the next day after a hot shower. This will Dry your skin...Very extreme drying so you will want to test and see if your skin handles it first.

Thanks so much Tired and Mr. Al!

Tired, I'm taking my second bath with your formula tonight and then applying a homemade sulfur cream with nearly 35% sulfur. First was last night. I did see some improvement today in that the mass of bites stopped spreading.

I really appreciate you sharing how you used the shampoo while soaking and all the other details. Mr. Al, the extra pre-drying makes sense - thanks for that. How long have you been doing the sulfur applications?

Can we all keep each other posted? It helps me to have colleagues in this process!

Thanks again,
rose

Rose - I am glad you are seeing improvement. Also forgot to mention that I also had some 10% sulfur soap (from RiteAid Rx) that I wash my hands with so that if I itch I don't transfer them. So you may want to add either soap to your treatment.

I have slept through another night. I think that the lack of sleep was really wearing on me. I also have a section on my stomach that I started to panic about but I believe it is post-scabies. The reason that I don't think it is a new outbreak is because when I scratch it I feel some relief. I am putting aloe vera gel (purchased at a health store on that section) on that area.

My little dog still itches but I think it is getting less frequent (will be better able to guage today since I have sleep in me).

I have hope of getting my life back. It does help to have colleagues in the process. Best of luck.

I don't know how long you had scabies but if you can try to treat daily with sulfer. 14 days straight they say with Sulfer.

I've had the scabies for three months now. I'm on day 3 with the sulfur at the 35%. Before that I was using 10% with petroleum for almost a week and the mites only seemed to be multiplying more. I've now added the baths with Borax, hydrogen peroxide, and epsom salts, along with treating my head.

The 35% does seem to help but my skin is becoming very dry and the scabies are still alive. My skin will really age by the end of two weeks!! Yikes! Did your skin ever recover? Do you remember did you notice steady imrovement or was it back and forth?

I have the mites pretty consistently from my jaw and hairline down to my waist - both front and back. They are subsiding now on my front and multiplying on my back. Very discouraging.

I must have a compromised immune system. I sure hope it doesn't turn into Norwegian scabies.

Thanks again for your support,
Rose

Ms. rose try not to have too much worry, it won't help the itch. How are you sure that they are multiplying and where they are subsiding? Just keep up the sulfur, you gotta tell yourself that there is no way they will make it through this, and then give your skin plenty of time to heal after your done treating. From what I'm noticing, it takes longer for some than others. Good luck.

Well just stick with it if you can.. Also you ever thought about your clothes reinfecting you? That was my issue. At 35% or even at 10% the mites would die off due to the exoskeletons drying. They cant survive that after awhile. I bet you are reinfecting yourself with clothes. You really have to look at that because if you don't you will be dealing with it for a long time. That is always a key is having clean mite free clothes.

Thanks Icky,

Calming my mind and getting into the right mindset is half the battle I think! Thanks for reminding me. Maybe that's what this learning lesson is all about!

From my observations, new red itchy bumps seems to indicate they are spreading and when they begin to fade and lose their redness it feels and looks like they are receding.

Thanks for your thoughts and good wishes,
rose

Rose,
I have started adding my sulfur to Eucarin cream. It really helps keep my skin from getting trashed. It its too thick to use in my hair, so I use the Eucarin lotion for that. Walmart has a good generic version. I am doing 33 percent sulfur now with no ill effects. It seems to cut the smell as well.
