Pin Prick & Crawling Sensations? Post...

OMG when I searched this topic everything was so old. I was so looking for something to help, I was desperate. And, I happened to live in a foreign country, so my resourses were limited. The problem was: I felt crawling on and under my skin. I only suspect "under" because I couldn't see anything. I flew to the USA to see a Dr., that of course, based on what I read, told me it was only in my head" I knew this was real. And I wouldn't stop until I solved the problem. There is really nothing worse than having bugs, much less having people tell you its in your head. So, I got a Dr to prescribe, against her will, ivermectin oral.(this is after I tried every topical RX available between the USA and China) I didn't just "try" them. I used them daily for months. Nothing worked untl I used the Iver. At that, it worked slowly. I took it once, than a week later, then (lost the pills) so, a month later, took it once a week for a month. Finally, releif. Only the oral iver worked. I wish I had this available from the start, it would have saved me months of topical ineffective treatments. But, now having the issue resolved, I know the first Dr. was an idiot for not treating me properly. He actually told me to just not think about it. He was Dr Bystol in Tucson. I highly DO NOT recomend him. He dismissed me before even hearing my issues. If he had diagnosed me correctly, he would have saved me thousands of dollars in OTC stuff, as well as additional flights to the US to see a qualified Dr. Instead, he sent me home and told me not to think about it which only compounded the issue.
Luckily for me, I was able to get the oral ivermectin.
I also use a Borax detergent and have the house cleaned daily.

I had visited this last week, and have to agree that its just horrible getting this, and also the post treatment. So if this helps someone.. what actually got this much better, post treatment was Sulphur soap without any other body wash. Also a combination of almond oil, tea tree oil (little only) and nivea moisturizer mixed together, after bath. This reduce the burning post treatment itches to the maximum. Do not make the mistake of using tea tree oil by itself, its quite strong.

I have normal to dry skin that went very dry with the mites. Tho' I had got it badly only on my legs, I had bits everywhere else too. Its been a month since this started and yesterday was the third treatment with Peremetrin. I have not been reinfected, most probably, after the first week, but post treatment has felt horrible too, this whole month. Thanks for all the suggestions here.

If you had scabies for a while you'll need to also disinfect your floors, even basement. Kleen Green is good.
For your body soak daily using Naturasil soaking fluid for scabies, and Eat Portabillo mushroom sandwiches,.
Home Depot sells whirlpool bath tubs. Standard replacement tub sizes. This is best and corner tubs can be put in a bedroom, or even a living room.

2 MONTHS BATTLE BUT I WON!
Two very horrible, stressful, expensive, scary and uncomfortable months of having scabies. I am writing this only to help everyone who is in their battle looking for answers and solutions. I spent hours looking for help here on the web only to found people in despair and at their wits end. Here is my story and what (finally) worked for me:
At first I noticed myself getting extremely itchy in my armpits and my belly button. That went on for a few days and then went to the dermatologist. I was misdiagnosed for something else. My itchyness start then moved to my privates (front and back) and it was impossible to sleep at night. I then noticed a mark on my inner thigh and was told I had scabies.
I went thru 6 permatrin and 3 doses of ivermectrin over the next 8 weeks. These only worked for about a day or so and then the itchyness came back.
My dermatogist said we would only prescribe one more round and then I would have to get a second opinion.
I read so many people with different home remedies and thought they were all nuts. But then it dawned on my that I was turning into one of those people. LOL. I was turning desperate and losing hope. I bought sulphur soap and tea tree oil. I don’t really thing that was working but honestly didn’t give it a long try. And I think you need to stick with it for a few weeks. Bleh.
I read about neem oil working for people and being a natural way to get rid of them. I don’t know how I ended up at a home depot site, but I found a product Organic Neem Oil Extract for getting rid of “spider” mites and other insects in gardens. I didn’t want to wait for a product off the internet so I went to home depot and bought it. That night I put three cap full’s in a hot bath and started soaking in it. As I was in the tub I was reading the warning label and it was saying stuff like “don’t get it on your skin” and if you do wash off with water for 20 minutes. I started to freak out. I was only in there for a few minutes and rinsed off. That night I was feeling really sick and was kind of worried. I stayed home from work the next day cuz I still didn’t feel so well. It really did a number on me. But I have to say, it got rid of my scabies. Do I recommend it? Probably not cuz I have no idea what long term damage I did, But honestly I was at my wits end and was about to try anything.
The next few weeks I got a total of about 5 bumps. I was also having weird crawling sensations also. Each time this happened I would freak out but decided to test out this “post scabies” theory and didn’t treat it. I think a good way to know if you have been “cured” is if you itch intensely at night or not. Anyhow, the bumps stopped happening and I no longer itch for feel those crawly sensations.
One of my big concerns was if I was giving it to others or not. Just so you know, I live in an apartment and have my own room and my own bathroom and didn’t give it to my roommate (thank god). I didn’t take any chances and avoided the common areas as much as I could.
I hope this helps people. I feel you should write your success story so others have some hope too. It was such a scary thing for me. I am glad its over. Good luck to those in need!!
Hi,
I haven't posted much on this board, but I had to respond to your experience about Home Depot's Organic Neem Oil Extract. I did about the same thing when i first got scabies. I went to Lowes and got Garden Safe Neem Oil Extract and did what I read on this board you should do...I put it on my skin to kill the scabies (spread it around pretty good). I nearly died (or so it seemed). I was sick as a dog, had no energy, no appetite, and could only sleep. I was like that for a week. My appetite has just started to return 3 months later (l lost 25 lbs.). I hope I've finally managed to kick the scabies. Please people, don't every use Garden Safe Neem Oil Extract on your skin.

Naturasil and Kleen Green are the most active spammers on this forum, besides the DE gurus. Naurasil is just so very expensive and so is Kleen Green. Eat Portabillo mushroom sandwiches? lol ha ha ha he he he.... lol.....
Kleen Green is advertising here on this forum. Their ads appear when you are using an android. If you want to spend $60 for a bottle of enzymes, go ahead. Keep reading.

I’m not making this up. These fibers are almost everywhere that I have gone. It sounds like science fiction or some wild nightmare, but it’s not. I’m not trying to push fear into anyone. I’m just trying to make you all understand that this stuff is almost anywhere you go and most people are not paying attention to it. Humans don’t have super vision, so these fibers will not stand out unless you look for them. I can’t deny what I’m seeing with my own eyes and I can assure you that I have NOT lost my mind.
The first post you made was correct, you have lost your mind. Stop trying to scare people and go see a psychologist. People here are just trying to get some help and support and I'm not sure what you are trying to do or maybe you think it's funny. Seriously, just stop.

Don't be too quick to judge. People DO see fibers. And they have given it a name, Magellan's disease. It could be fungus, mold, who knows? I don't think it's alien, or some sort of government biological weapon or the result of jet streams, like some have contested. But the fibers are real. No, you are not going out of your mind. But make sure to see the doctor when HE can see the fibers, or he might write you a prescription for anti psychotic meds.

I was diagnosed with scabies a week and a half ago, got iver and with 4 days got the pin pricks and freaked and and took my first refill. Yesterday I felt great but today (4 days after first treatment) again I have had pin pricks all day and have freaked out and got my last refill. Not sure if I should take it tonight or wait a few days. It's supposed to be once a week but I am taking it in less than a week because of anxiety and fear. Are the pin pricks more scabies or a reaction to the medicine?

I bought this aloe at the vitamin shoppe called lily of the desert aloe and I was using it for a cure which I'm not really sure it did BUT it lessened the symptoms dramatically. Go buy some and put head to toes and it'll help the itching big time.

You probably need ivermectin (get it off amazon if you cant get a script) there are several protocol and directions for using the injectable orally -- I have had scabies for 5 months and the ivermectin is the only thing that stopped the biting -- currently im doing the 21 to 29 days plus all the topicals, washing and all the other major time consuming things

I got crawling migrations on crotch and chest and pin pricks especially on feet when showering or walking in infested carpeting. I bought a microscope and discovered purple worms. I took Ivermectin, Moxidectin and Doxycycline over a year and finally beat it. The black specs that came up on my hands with oil were immature worms when looked at with a microscope at 100x. Benzobezoate, Lindane, Lavender and sulfer soap did nothing for me. Not everyone is experiencing scabies. Research your symptoms with a microscope and then treat with field artillery, not a water pistol.

Unfortunately I don't have much time to give a really lengthy reply - I'm at work and have a really busy week ahead of me. I've been meaning to hop back on here and post on my status and give some treatment suggestions.
First of all, don't believe everything you read on the internet. Second of all, don't take every response you read in forum like this one to heart. Everybody's situation is different and some people are just negative...more about that later...
It is now what, three months since I posted my question in this forum. I have been scabies free since April and haven't had a re- infestation since.
I will post a detailed account of my situation and the way I treated my scabies this weekend. In the meantime, the best thing you can do is GO SEE A DERMATOLOGIST! Find a dermatologist in your area who can do a skin scraping (scabies test). The skin scraping can help give you the peace of mind (or the help you need to treat your situation) that you're looking for.
PS.
Not itching at night is a very good sign that your condition is improving. I still itch like crazy (mainly on my shins) from time-to-time, but it's just the residuals of the scabies. I figure each layer of skin I shed I'm going to itch a little till everything is completely out of my skin. I'll post a detailed account of my situation and how I treated myself this weekend. Good luck!
Max! I have already seen a dermatologist. How did you finally rid yourself of Scabies?

our situation was so crazy with scabies! i am seriously pursuing getting further research done on these little monsters! i contacted a university here near me, and they seemed very intrigued, as well as pursuing this through the military. i told them that if this was right, about many people not showing and maybe ever of having these, but being carriers, or symptoms manifesting in so many different ways, that wouldn't be linked to a mite being the cause, that this could be a huge medical breakthrough for all those who do suffer from these! saw this first hand, and just.eed to find the funds to back this research! it would be devastating if these become capable of transmitting diseases!

Still trying to figure out if I'm in post or not. I haven't had any of those weird mosquito like bites on my face in two weeks. I'm dry and itchy but with no rashes. How ever I still feel crawling/ pinpricks at times.my baby has had a couple of red spots on feet that disappear within hours. And my 6 year old has a couple of small bumps on her inner thighs that will come and go, like she can go 2 weeks with nothing and then I'll see some. The last time we used perm was end of October. And we have used nustock sulfur a few times since then, most recently 2 weeks ago. I also for the first time since we got diagnosed 4 months ago have stopped the daily bathing and stopped changing sheets daily. I would think if we were still infested that my kids would be breaking out in rashes since I stopped the manic cleaning. Also I had to stopped bathing them because their skin was very chapped, I think they are going on day 5 of no showers and their skin looks good. I haven't been wiping down surfaces or car etc. the only thing I'm still doing is laundry ,nothing gets worn twice and our coats go in the dryer for an hour everyNight.

I want to wait and see now that I've backed off treating and cleaned my routine what happens BUT in two weeks we are supposed to travel to see family and I'm paranoid that if we do still have it we can infest them. Thinking about treating with Nustock the next two weeks just in case anyways.

Can you all make up your minds. These things are so tiny how in the world would they cause a crawling sensation? I think that what we're all dealing with is hypersentivity from the perm cream.
Sometimes you can feel them burrowing, but it seems you can only feel it if you're already sensitive to scabies from already having had scabies before or you have allergic hypersensitivity to scabies or dust mites, which are similar to scabies.
