Hi!
I read the thread on the Betadine. Could that help to eradicate the Scabies?? It is a GREAT cleaner!!!! Just a thought! It would kill ANY eggs on the surface of our bodies, I think? And any mites that might be 'close' to the surface?
Because of my disability, I can't drive and care for my kids full-time, I can't move at timmes. They live with their Dad, but are here EVERY weekend. If I did a Betadine wash in the shower, I wouldn't worry as much!!
Do you think I am safer that way? Neither of them have caught the Scabies - but I AM OCD about it!!!
Before they come, I always keep my recliner covered with doubled sheets, and change then before they get here, and I vacuum. I make sure I am getting out of the shower when they get here - now it is a standing joke that Mom will be 'in the shower'!!
What do you think if I scrubbed down in Betadine?

Walmart has thin plastic coverings that I used to buy and put on my bed. They are in the party tablecloth section and cost $1.50 or less. You can use one instead of sheets. And throw away after a couple days. They have white, pink, green, blue, etc.

If you have live adult mites on your skin you can shower with lice killing shampoo available in any store. And applying pomado de azufre will stop all mites from moving or living on your skin. You won't pass this to anyone ...unless mites are in your clothes or recliner. Are you washing all laundry in arm and hammer powdered detergent? Clothes have to be under control.

I remember thinking of using betadine over a year ago, but didn't want my skin to stain orange. I should try it on one spot on my ankle. Its expensive. update if it helps you, id like to know.

Hi Izo

I used betadine on my cuts that wouldn't heal , it helped tremendously.
I still use it on my face & eyes , it kills all the bugs in 5 mins & is painless.
I wet the skin, close my eyes well , but not to tight & apply the Betadine slowly ,carefull not to flip my eylids open, I leave on for 5 minutes , then rinse off. Bam, all eye bugs are dead & stay dead. It is the best. It works also very well on privates . It is not for internal use it says on the bottle . It is best not to ingest it .
Betadine applied to damp skin & left for 5 mins has never stained my skin. one bottle ususally lasts me 6 months , it cost $8.00 . It never burns .The directions on the bottle says not to be used on large areas of the skin. I use it as a spot treatment & it is the best. Rita an old poster here at topix used it in her ears to kill them in side . I never did. I did not want to injest any if it leaked into my throat cavity from my ears. I use antibiotic ear drops for my ears . I get them at the quick care clinic for $36.00 & a 42.00 visit charge.
CVC has minute clinics across the US. They have a site on the net listing their800 number.

Betadine does not stain skin. It is water based, unlike the old iodine dissolved in alcohol, and does not sting. It washes right off.
