You're being a little premature aren't you?

Visited a new friends' house and stayed for four hours.
Woke up with large welts all over my legs and back. The welts slowly spread everywhere.
Eyes swollen shut in the mornings. Welts all over my face.
14 Months later
Realised it was mites.
After being treated by five different doctors and an allergy specialist what everything from “too much copper in my blood” to potential Lupus.
March 2012 until 14th July 2012 Treatments I Used
Dettol & baby oil
Sulphur Lime Dip baths plus CitraSolve– app. 20 bottles
Permethrin cream 5%- 3 tubes
Advantix – app. 50 pippettes – this did get them out of my hair
Ivermectin – Pour-on for Cattle – app. 6 (1 litre) bottles
Genesis – Pour-on for Cattle – 3 bottles
Another Ivermectin brand
Ivermectin orally until I could not talk properly
MMS + DMSO
Horse paste orally – 4 tubes
DMSO – 4 (1 litre) bottles
Advocate – app. 20 pippettes
Milky Foot foot exfoliator – 2
Pure orange oil
Vaseline & cling wrap
$300 steam mop for floors
Raid – app. 5 cans
Burning sulphur in the house and car
14th July 2012 – by the time I started this, I had no crawlies or movement.
Oral Moxidectin horse paste – body weight dose 3 times a day – every 8 hours
Grapefruit juice – 1 litre a day - whenever
Ivermectin + DMSO 50/50 each all over twice a day for the first five days and did not wash.
Good reduction in bites.
EXIT HOLES. I would feel an itch and find little hole with a speck of blood in them and tiny skin tags poking outwards.
31st July 2012
Changed to Permethrin 4% Pour-on for horses.“Swift” or “Permoxin”= same. 250 ml bottle
Permethrin + DMSO 50/50% all over Once a Day, brushed on with a small paint brush
In good light, applied by someone else, laying on an old blanket or towels (marks floors)
E-Quest Moxidectin Horse Paste- app. Dose by body weight – 3 times a day – every 8 hours
That is 7am......3pm........10pm
Grapefruit juice 1 litre a day, when thirsty
I felt I was cured. TEN days after changing to Permethrin + DMSO
I said nothing as I have thought I was cured before.
Changed to treating every THREE DAYS
20.8.2012 KNOW WITHOUT A DOUBT I AM CURED

What Else is Essential
Exfoliating in one way or another EVERY DAY BEFORE PUTTING TREATMENT ON.
Soak in a tub until your fingers go “pruney” then scrub with a scourer or stiff brush = time consuming and a bit creepy to see the dead skin floating on the water
Use light grade sandpaper LIGHTLY on dry skin – Do this OUTSIDE – keep moving so nothing gets back on to you = effective
Use a Benzoyl Peroxide BENZAC Acne Face Wash all over. Leave it on for 5 minutes (time it)
Wash off.= effective
Take a bleach bath every day. See Mite Warriors' posts on this. I don't know about it.
What to expect from this treatment
It hurts for A FEW MINUTES. That is NECESSARY. It means the fluid is crossing through into the skin where it needs to go.
IF IT DOES NOT HURT A BIT. YOU NEED TO EXFOLIATE.
It means it is also hurting the mites.
Any drops getting on furniture or floor will leave marks so use an old blanket
You will not know if you are cured, it is confusing KEEP GOING
By Day 20 or 21 you WILL know
On DAY 12 – 14 I had maddening itch. This was days after I thought I was cured.
The opposite of what a chemist told me to do.
I showered in a hot shower and scrubbed with a big old stiff laundry brush. I did it a couple of times a day as soon as the itch started.
After this I have taken a Telfast 180 once or twice a day.
It went away immediately. Came back a couple of times a day for 3 days. Repeated.
I never showed tracks except for 2 times in a sulphur bath. I had no sores. I had/have some skin coloured “caps” which when peeled off show an entrance hole.
My skin is very dry, but I continue to use the Benzac Wash because I want to rid my skin of all dead cells & debris quickly
6 days ago my skin started to show “goosebump” like bumps. I believe it is now down to where the mites and eggs were.
After DAY 21 I am now waiting 3 days between treatments for 10 days then I will do a couple 5 days apart.
Environment, house, cars, chairs must be treated. I used sulphur burning & Debugger 45% permethrin
All animals must be treated at the same time you treat yourself and for as long
All other people in the house must be treated at the same time and for as long
I will continue to wash in hot water and use a dryer for at least another month
I make a pen for my cat and have banned her from inside my house (cats cannot go anywhere near Permethrin)
I 'tested' my dog by laying my forearm on him for half an hour. He was treated heavily the same as I was. I made a spray with the Perm + DMSO and yes I gave him horse paste.
I think that is just about it. I hope this helps someone. I won't be coming back read or answer questions, sorry. But every step has been written in other posts if more detail is needed.

Dear Krazy in Kentucky: Re: carpet... hey, I just put in $48 / yd. carpet, and do not want to get rid of it... so I have some diatomaceous earth that I ordered with permethrin dust in it... I also use straight borax... sprinkled all around, since it is a natural pesticide... the diatomaceous, though tends to cut them to pieces... I also put the borax right on top of my new mattress.. spent quite a bit on that, and do not want to get rid of that either! At night, before going to bed.. anything not covered by a vinyl cover, I spray with Kleen Green (enzymes that attack the mite, and cause it to molt too early, then it dies... you can also put that into your bath, spray it on any pets, spray your car seats, and it dries clear, spray around and on your bed, allow to dry while in the borax bath... etc. pesticide companies also told me to rip out my carpet, or move everything off of it, then they can spray, while I board my dog, and move into a hotel for a week.. so the other non-toxic approaches work best for me, but with bird mites, they are very, very tenacious.. and can live up to nine months without a host! Ugh! they also told me to spray my entire yard, but I have organic fruit trees.. also told me to cut off all my hair, and tent the house, and move out for a week !!..so I purchased diatomaceous earth from a pool supply... please use a mask when shaking it into your yard, or carpeting.. do not expose to any pets, while it is in the air... it is not good to breathe it into your lungs.. you can also rid parasites, internally by taking food grade diatomaceous earth (health food stores can order that for you).

This post is from the thread called
How to get rid of scabies...very quick and on pets/clothes..
Post number one.
recently volunteered with a lot of people (about 6 weeks ago) to clean up a retirement home...
we ALL caught this shit, was horrible, so i did a lot of research and studying and finally figured out a surefire way to quickly get rid of them, eggs and all
has worked within 3 days for everyone, no ivermectin horse paste or that stuff needed
heres what you do need
91% Alcohol (1 large bottle is plenty 4bucks)
Peppermint Oil (2oz is plenty should be $20 full retail at central market)
Clove Oil (20z is plenty also 20 at central market)
a few spray bottles
Bottle of Odorless garlic (walmart - 100 tabs 3 bucks)
Bottle of cayenne fruit pills (walmart 6 bucks)
Bottle of Beta carotene (walmart 4 bucks)
few bars of sulfur soap (can find at mexican grocery stores)
10oz container of aloe lotion ( i used Vaseline Aloe fresh from walmart)
alright in the spray bottle combine half the bottle of rubbing alcohol, 1 oz peppermint and some water.. i used aw index bottle and filled it halfway up)
Peppermint is a neurotoxin to critters and rodents... it kills everything from ants to mice and keeps killing them for about a day)
Spray your whole house down and clothes with this sheets bedding everything...if you have a steam cleaner use it on your carpet with this mixture instead of soap).. then do this every day for about a week (i still have solution left, my place is only 1100 sq/ft tho)
now get a hot bath going.. nothing scalding hot or anything absurd, but pretty hot.. pour the other half of that alcohol into that tub and take a bath with the sulfur soap... your skin should be itching like crazy right now.. spend about 30 minutes
congratz you just killed a ton of critters making you itch.
next get that lotion you bought, empty out half the bottle in something then in that bottle you are going to combine 1oz Clove and 1oz peppermint oil
put that everywhere EXCEPT YOUR TESTICLES OR Hoo-Ha area (if you fail to listen to me and you do put it down there, that excrutiating pain can be taken care of by using olive oil to remove the lotion.... it will feel like the worst pain you have ever experienced in your life... i know from personal experience)
gratz you now smell like an 80 yr old persons house with clove, not a bad smell... also your whole body will feel like its ON FIRE... this pain goes away eventually) the clove WILL KILL EVERY SCABY on your body within 15minutes.. will also kill anything you come into contact with or sit on
DO NOT GET THIS LOTION NEAR ANY MUCUS MEMBRANES... you'll end up in the hospital and probably blind
now the peppermint stays in your skin longer than the clove... when new eggs hatch, it kills the babies so it gives you some breathing room
every time you itch, either apply lotion to that area and on the whole appendage (your wrist itches, lotion your whole arm)
as far as private areas, spray that peppermint spray you have down there, minty cool breeze and your junk tastes like x-mas, also it burns really bad... really really bad, but not as bad as clove oil does)
DONT SPRAY YOUR DOG OR CAT WITH THE SPRAY BOTTLE.. them simply being in contact with you will kill most of their mange (dog scabies).. also get them something called "Revolution" if its bad and give them a bath with a bit of peppermint dog shampoo
DONT GET CLOVE ON THEM DIRECTLY IF YOU CAN HELP IT
now as far as the pills, take 2 pills 4 times a day for the garlic and cayenne fruit) the beta C take twice daily for a week.. cayenne pepper is an INCREDIBLE internal miticide .. they wont want to be near your blood
rinse repeat until itching stops
my source, research and talking to a very clean smelling homeless guy at a shelter who educated me about peppermint
you guys are welcome, enjoy the rest of your lives

So, 6 months ago I contracted scabies. I threw most of my belongings in the garage. I used all the creams, every now and then I feel itchy and feel the crawling and biting sensations but no bumps. The only bumps I do get though are on the sides of my fingers. They are very small bumps, skin color and can be itchy at times and when the bumps go down my fingers will start to peel. I read that it could be a condition called pompholyx eczema. Could this be from dead scabies? Even though it's been months? Or could there still be some living on my hands? A few days ago I went into the garage to take back some of my belongings because I believed enough time had passed. Well, the next day I got 3 big bumps in a row on my palm. I still had a tiny bit of perm left so I I've put it on that area about 5 times now. I have also started to feel itchy like when I first got scabies. I don't know what to do. How could they survive in a garage for 6 months without food or water. I am just freaking out right now.
Someone help! I can't get anymore perm or even go back to the doctor for the same problem.
I just...I'm lost and confused. I don't want to be alone but I also don't want to infest anyone. I am pretty sure that I haven't had it up until a few days ago even though I have been itchy on and off because I have stayed the nights at friends' houses and they never got it.
What do I do? I know I have it again from touching that stuff out in the garage!!!

I read some posts where people said that you have to stop treating to see if you’re cured since the medications cause side effects that can resemble scabies. I firmly believe this after my experience. When I started Ivermectin, I started treating my cats with Revolution (once every 2 weeks). Please be very careful if you have pets because a lot of this is toxic to them. My Vet refused to give the cats Ivermectin injections because she said that the Revolution is safe, but the Ivermectin is not. Cats are fragile-more delicate than other pets. I panicked thinking that the Revolution was not working, but I chose to trust her. I have now transitioned my cats to Revolution one time a month. One of my cats is still itching. It’s possible that something else is going on with him—maybe he has a food allergy or something. Revolution can cause adverse effects, such as vomiting and other problems. Please research it and discuss it with your Vet.(And please research any other treatment options and discuss them with your doctor). Overall, I felt that the Revolution was the safest option for my cats.
My skin is still highly sensitive. I still have itching, but not the consistent, deep itching. I still get small rashes here and there-they are not thick like the old rash. Also, they seem to disappear after a few days. I also get scratch marks that come and go out of nowhere. Recently, I learned that this could be dermatographia (can be caused by scabies, Lyme and other things-there is a heightened histamine response). I have also had a lot of pain. I could not find very many people who have had pain with scabies. As such, I’m seeing a few specialists, including a rheumatologist and lyme specialist to see whether I could have something else going on. I also read a lot on the Internet, which seemed to fuel a lot of the hopelessness and fear.
I think it’s good to research all options, but it can also fuel the fear that “you’re never going to get better.” I have also learned that there are many conditions, which can mimic scabies. If you try and try to get better without success, there may be something else going on. I also used borax on my carpets and in my laundry. Note that the borax seems to take forever to vacuum up. I vacuumed pretty much daily and cleaned a lot. I used Lysol on my shoes, did not wear clothes more than once, washed my bedding daily, bagged all my clothes, stopped using things that I could not disinfect, used an air mattress covered in plastic that I could wipe down and quarantined off my bedroom (due to pets), used trash bags to cover my car seats (used borax in my car) and chairs and used gloves around the house and when handling my cats. I also limited my sugar intake and stopped drinking alcohol. I took probiotics for awhile, but I cannot say if it helped. In addition to the Revolution for my cats, I gave them a couple baths with regular pet shampoo (prior to the first application) and then prior to a subsequent application. I did not use flea shampoo (or any other products on them) because they are not safe or more effective than regular pet shampoo. I looked into sulfur-lyme dips, but chose not to use them because they are not safe for cats. The worst piece of advice I followed was to put my vacuum outside where things could get into the vacuum and get into my home.

Please keep in mind that other things can happen in post scabies, which may make you think you still have scabies. For example, you could get a fungal infection. Dermatographia can cause itching. Also, you could have more than one condition going on at once. I read instances where people got scabies and shingles or some other condition at the same time. Maybe I have had a few things going on. I’m still working on figuring it out. I feel confident that I don’t still have scabies. I
In any event, this has been a horrible experience and one that I hope to use for good. It takes a lot of perseverance and time, but things will get better. Keep trying and don’t give up. If someone refuses to help you or believe you, go to someone else. It also takes a lot of Faith to be able to put aside your fears and stop treating-to believe that you’re going to get better. It also takes a lot of Faith to slowly get back to normal after you have had such a traumatic and difficult experience. I think slow changes have helped me. My faith in Jesus was the biggest factor in getting me through this. It helped me enormously. It was the only thing that kept me from losing my mind. I hope that my story helps anyone still struggling. I know it feels like you’re never going to get better, but you will and you have to believe that you will. Good luck and hang in there. And thanks to all who posted their success stories after they were cured. That helped me a great deal.

Thanx for the info- I too got that stuff from a dermatologist and it is good! I also apply it about 20 min before I shower or bathe, to loosen any dead scabs on my skin- then reapply after. Thanx for sharing. Diane

Finally appear to be cured after about 4 months.
Used Cimexa dust in house and shoes and DE. Cleaned floors w kleen free sprayed on swiffer, and bleach and water on tile. Used Perm cream over and over and took ivermectin paste 4 times once a week then finally 3 times in row. Used ivermectin paste on body and hair.(works but drying) Finally the ascabiol lotion from Australia sealed the deal on body and scalp. Burns like heck but after 10-15 min burn goes away. Burns to wash off too so wait as long as possible just take a benedryl.

If I am not itching at night for 4 days am I out of the woods? It actually stopped itching before I started the perm. but new spots were cropping up in the morning after my shower. I had been applying a penetrating clove oil, turmeric powder lotion with some tea tree oil for a few days when I noticed a few spots on the back of my hands. My son brought his infestation home. I'm going to help him clean his house tomorrow and he will start the perm. cream Finally!!!!!!
I plan on doing the next week treatment of perm just to catch the stragglers. It really helps to understand the life cycle of these bugs.
