I would like to know how to make the proper 10% sulfer solution for scabies. I purchased the flowers of sulfur powder and the Aquaphor Healing Ointment but I don't know how much of each ingredient to use...Unfortunately nobody sells the Pomada de Azufre where I am and the Walmart says they cannot order it. Please Please Please..if anyone has the "recipe" please post it or let me know where to find it. Thank you all in advance!

Are you serious? I would recommend getting the 5% permetherin cream through your doctor. If you cannot afford to go to the doctor, use NIX and leave it on overnight - it's 1%.

Oh...I guess I should have mentioned that I have already been to the derm 2x and have done 2 tubes of perm on each family member (5 of us), Iver for 3 of us, Borax, Alcohol etc..clean all day. I believe the problem was that I believed the doc when she said that it was not possible for scabies to burrow in the face...well I could feel them on my nose (and inside) and in my hair. But, since she told me that scabies do not get on those areas, I only treated as she instructed..from the neck down. Now I know different, but I want to do the sulfur treatment because I feel like I am poisoning my 3 kids with insecticide with the perm. We all get Very tired after we use it. So...I am still in need of the sulfer recipe...I used Sulfer8 on my 3 yr old & 7 year old and they are fine, but I need the 10% sulfer. This has been going on since April 2008. I just need to zap the ones on me and our nightmare will hopefully be OVER!!!!

Hey yeah scabies get on the face and head i know for sure, even if you just have them on your nails and you scratch your head theyll be there! treat everyone everywhere.

And i wouldn't use nix if its 1% permethrin it's a waste of time it's for head lice not scabies.

Sorry tho i havent got the recipe :)

You are right and your doctor is wrong, wrong, wrong!!!!!!!!!! mites can go anywhere on their host. These doctors don't spend much time at the study of parasites in medical school. They seem to think that humans don't get infected by parasites.

Full Body treatments!!!!!!! and in your ears and nose and scalp.

Alcohol can be sprayed onto the scalp and kills the mites crawling on the surface.

Ask your pharmacy if they will compound a 10% sulfur for you.

Check the ordering link forums for online resources. Check into oral Ivermectin which is a systemic treatment and very safe(your dumb ass doctor won't think so and probably never heard of it). Ivermectin is an off -label treatment that is used to treat scabies and is a first-line treatment for scabies according to the Centers for Disease Control and Pervention.....used on millions of people and is very safe...

Yes, I feel like I've done all of this in vain...because the doc told me that they do not go to the face and hair...so everyone was cured in my house but me because they were hanging out in my nose! Now my family got reinfested because of this and I am out about $700 in medication/dr.visits! I ask the pharmacy to compound the sulfur for me and they would not do it without a prescription...so I am still in need of the recipe....I think my kids swimming in the pool for 3 hrs a day has helped them tremendiously, but unfortunately I am too BUSY cleaning and doing laundry all DAY so I am not able to join them! I often think what did I do with all the time I had before the Scabies Nightmare?? This experience will definitely make me appreciate any free time after this is over!

I had an allergic reaction to sulphur used on the face. Be careful that whatever is happening on the face is not an allergic reaction to the stress
and chemicals/scabacides that we all use to try to tackle this problem.
Now I have stopped using sulfur on my face ..my face has cleared up.
Also the sun and sulfur is a bad combination ..
If you have the sulfur be careful to use a mask ( a cotton one) when you
mix it. Use a blender with a closed container . I used one to make
a batch with a zinc diaper lotion called Balmex and added olive oil to thin it out and mix it better (about 1/4 cup per cup of lotion) I turn out well. Useabout 1/8 of a cup of sulfur per cup of lotion. Do a google search for more detail instructions . Hope this helps . God knows we all need help!

k i was told 9 T lotion to 1 T sulfur. i made a weaker batch for my face and privates. i also added the sulfur to my shampoo and conditioner. i use the strong batch at nite and the weaker batch in the morning as it is harsh on the skin and u will peel. i also take a small bottle with me wherever i go and use when i itch and use on my hands ALOT during the day. hope that helps some, its been the best for me and i have tried everything, just keep getting from my daughter who wont treat so i use still now as a preventative.

Thank you so very much for all the advice and helpful hints...of course we are all miserable and just a little hope given by people from this forum means a great deal when one of us feels like "throwing in the towel"...thank you again and I hope everyone finds the right combo to eliminate the life altering nightmare!

I use straight tea tree oil on my face after the allergic reaction to the sulfur
and that has been very helpful. Glad your kids are helped by the pool.
The clorine is a scabicide and the cold water means they ( cold immobilized them for a while) can't move around .
It might help to spend more time in the pool and less time cleaning...at least
it is fun...and God knows we all need a little fun while we are living through this evil thing.

I went to the doctor today. He told me it was all in my "head." I told him I felt like they were in my ears!

He gave me spot cream for itching - told me I could go in the sun and the salt water!

IDK...I used the P5% 3 x...he told me to leave everything alone...I told him I wanted the pills and the steroids and pain killers. He said I don't need it!

Alcohol works REALLY well. I spray it on every night. It heals the bites.

So does the WINE! It kills the pain!

#%&!ing doctors!

if you had scabies and you feel something crawling around in your ears, it's probably mites.

Sarcoptic mites can survive treatment in the inner ducts of the ear canal and in fact they will flee to areas that are not treated. Scabicides are all slow to kill and the mites have ample time to retreat to untreated areas.

Alcohol in the ears does help as does alcohol in a stiff drink, just kidding. I got brave or crazy or whatever and purchased one of the cattle pour-on avermectins. I used that in my nose and ears and as a spot treatment and it works. most online large animal supply stores will have it. they are called dewormers but also treat mange and lice. or the oral Quest moxidectin gel for horses but I used it as a topical.

Disclaimer: This is totally my own opinion and I'm nuts, crazy, insane, wacky, off the deep end, did I say insane? so everyone is responsibe for their own treatments.

I put rubbing alcohol in my ears with a Q-tip. They're itching right now. That's the only place that itches. The doctor would not even look at my head! He said it was all in my head!

I wonder what the doctors would do, if, after we all went to them, to just briefly say, right into their eyes.... "you know, if you don't run any tests to determine if I have scabies, and if you don't prescribe the necessary meds, I will sue you and the insurance company." No one wants to get sued. "Now, what do you have for my ears?"

This was on another post so I thought I would put it here. I went this morning, got the stuff to make my own (MSM powder, tea tree oil, lavender and lotion) I made it and have used it. Already the itching has eased ALOT. I don't know if its in my head or not, my friend's daughter(who is over all the time) came home from daycare with a note and an itch. She got a prescription but I got onlilne and found this: I sure hope it helps. I also bought some dawn and am spending the day spraying everything down and washing everything i own. Better safe than sorry either way. Here is what I saw on another post:

Hi Fed

The mix is 240 , 500 mg tablets disolved, and mixed with 28 oz of lotion

or half batch would be
120 , 500 mg tablets
14 oz of lotion

or one quarter batch
60, 500 mg tablets
7 oz of lotion

or the one eighth batch
30, 500 mg tablets
3.5 oz of lotion

These are all 15% msm to lotion
The stuff works mixed weak or strong.
I first mixed up 15 , 500 mg tablets to 5 oz of lotion , it worked great also.

,(I just fill the jar it comes in with water and wait 1.5 hrs) and dump it into a big pumper 24 oz handcreme bottle with some extra baby oil or coconut oil , or water to make it mix when I shake it up real well.

The mix I recieved from the lady who used it said

"1. Put cream and/or lotion in large bowl. A large bottle of Vaseline
Lotion
is about 24 fl. oz
2. Next, place the appropriate amount of MSM into a sauce pan. For 24
oz.
of Lotion use 110 grams or (approx 22 tsp) for a 15% sulfur/MSM lotion
.
3. Add about 2 tablespoons or so of water than bring to a boil.(Don't
worry
about the heat - MSM is a mineral not a vitamin so it's properties are
not
affected or denatured in any way by heat, even at extremely high
temperatures.
4. Check that the crystals have completely dissolved, if not, repeat
for
another 10 seconds.
5. When fully dissolved, slowly add to the cream and stir very
thoroughly.
6. use a funnel and put it back into the bottle or just put it in a
tupperware.
You now have your very own MSM rich lotion. It is nice, and it doesn't

smell. It feels nice to, it goes on really smoothly.
Again I hope this helps,
Chelz"

Back to my explaination (I dont heat mine , maybe I should to help it sink in to the skin.? seems to work great any way you use it) Main thing is put in on, it drives them away in 2-3 days, if I itch I just use regular sulfur from www.americarx.com ($10.00)
I order "sulfur online 10.99 for 12 oz,,, Humco Sulfur Sublimed Powder USP - 12 Oz
Used in compounding skin preparations for treating acne"
(its a powder) and it cures acne and cuts bites anything fast, in 2-5 days.
I use 1 teaspoon sulfur and 10 teaspoons of lotion. It cures it anytime I get reinfected, it is fast and takes the itch away in 15 minutes to 1 hour. After 3-5 days my skin gets dry. With the msm that does not happen.

God bless you, BIll

Thanks a million Bill! Now my next question...does it matter what type of lotion you use with the Sublimed sulfer powder? Bath and Body Works sells wonderful smelling lotions that would probably mask the slight sulfur smell that i get when I mix with Aquaphor. I mixed it by weight...9 ounces of Aquaphor (vaseline w/ mineral oil) with 1 ounce of sulfur powder..however you mixed it by volume...I wonder if mine is not strong enough because volume and weight would give you completely different percentages..right?
