Just Anyone,

The Advantix treatment is the most effective one I have done. But if the symptoms have not disappeared and the skin has not healed, it is hard to tell the outcome. How long it takes for the healing depends on the severity your skin are damaged.

By the way, I have signed up to Topix and sent you a message with my email.

Advantix which is Imidacloprid 8.8% and Permethrin 44%( which I water down with grapeseed oil, I use it 50-50, 50% grapeseed ) is the only thing that has worked for me.

I used Iver, which never seemed to work, I even used Iver 22 consecutive days.

Sulfur with lotion ( 20-25%) following Phoenix 62's formula but most importantly I used acqueous cream and lotion with sulfur, aqueous cream soaks into your skin to prevent dry out. You can buy small tubs of aqueous cream at any local RX or drugstore.

The orig. Phoenix 62's formula dried out my skin after 7 days. I have bad bad red, dried peeling skin.

Anyways, the Advantix ( blue ) exposed red areas with mites all over my body, something that the sulfur solution never did. The sulfur simply took off the surface mites but never did penetrate deeper and kill the burrows.

After advantix ( I used it 8-10 straight days, read some to the academic journal articles on Imidacloprid, they say supposedly that it has low toxicity ).

So it did not work for me after 24 hours application, I did this about 5 times, though it killed the ones in my feet.

I did something like a day 1, day 4, day 7 and day 11 application(s) leaving it on from 24-48 hours each time. This killed what was in the feet but not elsewhere.

I don't think I am in the clear yet, I am still paranoid and scared as hell. But i have intense itching and red marks, with red dots and burroghs that showed up from both armpits to my groin area, hip, side of the waist.

This is something that was never exposed by the sulfur treatment. I have tried and used everything perm, BB, bleach baths, borax solution.

This finally worked but let's see if it can eradicate it permanently and forever.

The British Head lice article posted on page 1 or 2 of this thread says in the last paragraph that imidcloprid has low toxicity. Also it says that if used in conjunction ( if applied that is ) with olive oil, the effectiveness is higher.

If nothing else is working for you, then Caveat emptor ( let the buyer beware )

My two cents,

hi, i am new here. i picked up a nasty case of scabies on vacation. i have used lindane 4 times, permethrin once, and apply tea tree oil every single day.. no results that last. my doctor gave me cipro and anti biotic creams thinking there was some skin infection. she even gave me clotrimazole cream for thrush. i really want to try advantix. i am 51 years old, weigh about 125 lbs, and in good health otherwise. the scabies is heavy on my torso (and spreading fast), and concentrated in the genital area, especially the creases where the thigh meets the torso. is it safe to use advantix in the genital area? any other suggestions? somebody please help. this thing is taking over so i cannot even concentrate on my family or work.

Try the phoenix 62's sulfur with lotion and aqueous cream first is my recommendation.

But if you want to go for this, then use it and follow the instructions, I always mixed it with olive oil. You can do it days 1, 3, 7, 10 or just once a week like what TSD did.

If it is really bad, you can follow my formula but that is quite a bit tougher.

NeedHelp,

Leave the advantix on for at least 2 days. You will have to leave it on the hair too.

It smells like chemicals but the pesticide/whatever you want to call it seems to penetrate deeply.

I happened to do 4 days segments ( not bath show for 4 days ). Day 1 put it on, day 2 or day 3 a second dose, then if still itchy, day 3 third dose, wait til day 4 take a shower.

I washed my hair every 2 days. Use with grapeseed oil or olive oil ( not the thick but the thinned out grapeseed oil or the thin olive oil otherwise, the hair will be a mess and then the pesticide has to work against the ingredients in the olive oil instead of the oil simply being a transmitter.

Ivermectin works well, use Advantix and do Iver at the same time. The British head lice article says Imidacloprid used with olive oil increased it effectiveness. Olive oil in the skin when using Iver, it really increases Iver's effectiveness because it simply acts as extra sebum in the skin. Iver will secret and stay active in the skin longer.

thank you, you very kind and wonderful people.
i used advantix last night. i was kind of scared to, but the scabies was getting unbearable. although i have not applied it to my hair and face. i was too nervous to do that. does it burn up the scalp? i do not have any symptoms at all on my face and head. i bought some olive oil, but since it seemed too thick, i applied advantix directly to my entire body. i have taken the day off from work today, so i can leave it on till sunday if necessary.'just anyone', i am going to apply advantix once a week, and 10% sulfur cream every day all over. do you think that will do the job? i am now going on for 3 months with the scabies. what do you think?
with advantix, for the very first time since i got the scabies itch, i slept peacefully through the night without going crazy. i cannot thank all of you enough. i almost feel like putting it on every night.
i have not used any ivermectin yet. my doctor is willing to give me a prescription, and i know a good site where i can get it online, but all shipping times are messed up due to bad weather. does the iver have any bad side effects? should i start using it right away, or wait a bit and see if sulfur and advantix do the job?
any help will be really appreciated. i am so grateful for this site.

one more thing.
will i feel itchy, that is, will the symptoms continue for some time even with my using advantix? i mean, after i bathe?
i have not had any black or blue patches like TSD did. does that mean advantix is not working deep inside where the mites are? i am sorry, but i have been such a nervous wreck with this problem. it is hard to believe there is a permanent solution.

To Burnaby, Canada,

Yes there will be itching. It will continue for a awhile. You can do a second dose of advantix but mix it with 60% grapseed ( light grapeseed oil or olive oil, not the full one which contains parts of the skins )and 40% advantix.

If you leave it on, do a second or third coat if you wish. But you might as well use Ivermectin when you do these treatments.

Angel, do you have any advice for Burnaby, Canada?
The itching is normal, it can means that there is some die off if you see that sort of lesions ( dead ) show up and red spots where it killed the mite under the skin.

If it is plain, regular itchin, then I don't know.

Apply to the face with 60-40 oil-advantix, see if you have mites on the face, you probably do. You will not eradicate this if still have mites on the scalp and face. Apply so to the nape of the neck where there is still have, then wait 15 minutes and wipe with white tissue, see if you see any black or grey specks.

Scabies treatment is not a one-night cure, in many cases, one treatment does not suffice.

The itching is normal. Even after we are cured, the Scabies symptoms and sensation will still last for some time.

You got instant positive reaction after you did the Advantix treatment, this means it works for you, but you still need to do more to see if it is your cure.

You said you want to do sulfur daily between the weekly Advantix, in my opinion, this is not a good idea. Sulfur will counteract the Advantix concentration on your skin (because the Advantix is also systemically, you will keep getting a mount of the Advantix back to your skin for some time). I don't mean sulfur is not good, I just think when doing the Advantix, just concentrate on it is better.

If you are scared to put the full percentage Advantage on your face, you can try to start with very low percentage, then increase the percentage step by step if you think you need. You can use vegetarian oil to dilute the Advantix down to whatever percentage you want. Get the skin care grade vegetarian oil (olive, grape seed, sweet almond, etc.) instead of the products for cooking, which are thick and messy.

About the Ivermectin, it is a safe scabicide, it is always good to combine the oral medicine with the topical, it seems the Iver is the only option for oral treatment.
