Also Has anyone except Vann tried and succeeded with the Diatomaciuous Earth?
***Joe said, "They are really small jars of the stuff, and they are not expensive, so buy a few of them. You can also mix your own sulfur ointment by buying sublimed powdered sulfur, and mix 10% with 90% body lotion and/or vaseline. the 4 ounce container of sublimed powder sulfur makes ALOT of this mixture. americarx.com sells the sublimed sulfur. One guy on here named AL used sulfur and cured himself with it. I believe he kept sulfur on him 24/7 for a while, at least a month. another person used the sulfur 3 days on and 3 days off. Let's see what a search on this forum brings us for sulfur. "
***BenG1 said, "Good on you Joe :) I think 'PLEASE HELP' comes from the west of Scotland (Hamilton) so UK sites are better for buying stuff. I remember a woman on the forum saying that she'd locked herself away in the bathroom for 5 (?) days and covered herself in a sulphur mix which worked , but it meant dragging a tv in there and not leaving the room. Sulphur must be the oldest cure of them all. This Uk site might help you:"

SULFUR IS TOXIC AND CAN BURN THE SKIN RESULTING IN SEVERE DERMATITUS. EXTREME CAUTION IF YOU LEAVE ON THE SKIN, Horror stories about people severely damaging their skin are common here!
I suggest being VERY careful, and use Sulfur8 brand Medicated Cream or Sulfur8 brand shampoo [2% sulfur]. Also use a commercial sulfur soap less than 10% sulfur. More is not better.
Myself & others recommend a NON-TOXIC treatment such as one of these PROVEN treatments:

If you want to use popular drugs, read these links for a successful ending:

If you insist on using sulfur, here are some tips:
==========
Be very careful to get 100 % precipitated sulfur, also called sublimed sulfur, or brimstone, or flowers of sulfur, or milk of sulfur. These are pure elemental sulfur, natural and minimally-toxic. It is a relatively fine crystalline powder, light lime color, with a faint pleasant lemon fragrance (will not stink). Keep tightly sealed as it attracts moisture. The powder, undiluted, will burn your skin. It may be available in paint stores, it was referred to as 'pure sulfur' meaning 100% pure native (or elemental) sulfur, which will always be processed in one of the above ways.

Please take your cats to the vet. They know what to do. Sulfur will not cure them.

Cats are groomers. Not a good idea to bath them in sulphur. Just use a mild shampoo and buy some Revolution for them. Or treat with Ivomec. A few drops between the shoulder blades once a week for about 6 weeks.
If you do purchase Revolution, use it every two weeks (not once a month) for sarcoptic scabiei.

I used orange listerine and it helped clear up problem areas. Its said that they dont like citrus so get any citrus flavored listerine that has the active ingredients:
eucalyptol 0.092%
menthol 0.042%
methyl salicylate 0.062%
thymol 0.064%

probly wont eradicate but it helps...

Diluted 1.5 capfuls lime sulphur in 24 litres warm water with a capful of tea tree oil for the sarcoptic mite.
Applied to myself and drenched the dog. Will reapply new mixture for myself daily, and drench the dog daily for a week.
Will report on success/failure.
Permethrin would have been a good alternative, but spooked by reports that even if a cat sleeps on the bed of a recently treated dog, she is very suspect to poisoning.
Can't take the risk with this moggie.

One thing we tried cuz it had three good ingredients was Carmex ointment. It has eucalyptus, menthol, camphor, and petroluem jelly. My daughter was going through through a very painful and tearful itch session and I suggested it. It really helped her. She has a bad case of scabies and so far no one rlse has gotten it. Going to get the usual borax and peroxide and she's been using benzoyl peroxide for her acne on her face. The bugs really dont want or need snyone else catchinh it so doing everything we can do to help it disappear.

Been through a 3 weeks nightmare with Doctors and permethrin. It does not work and only slows them down. I am covered in scabs and holes. I also have infected my 85 year old Mother and now it seems maybe my Husband. Yesterday I was planning to leave this earth! Very bad day. Not allowed in waiting room at Docs, very nasty receptionist. Not seen Grandchildren for 3 weeks and I could not speak to anyone without crying. I thought there was no cure. Today I am trying a Sulphure cream I have made myself. It feels good and seems lots of people have been succesfull with it. At last there is a little hope. God bless you all.

If you go to your profile page and enable messaging, you can send and receive messages from other members- I have some advice for you about sulfur and some other things that will help you. Message me and I can tell you what our family is doing.

I got them first and since I'd never had them before it took me 6 weeks to have symptoms- I managed to infect my son, adult daughter, grandbaby, sister and my mother. I learned later I got them from riding in the car of a friend whose daughter had been treated for them right before I rode in her car. My friend didn't kno anything about scabies so she believed everything the college campus nurse told her daughter to do which was to use the perm cream one time from the neck down (WRONG bc in the drug insert it says to apply from HEAD down) and she told her all she had to do was wash just her clothes & bedding and she'd be done with it forever... she didn't tell her to vacuum her car, rugs or furnishings.... If she'd known more about them, I think she would have told me before I rode in her car. I'm so sorry you had such a bad experience with the drs office, that is terrible they were nasty to you!

I just wanted to let you all know how my husband and I got rid of scabies. I found that bloggs like this one had some of the best information. We got scabies from a Comfort Inn in Roswell, NM. It took 6 weeks for then to fully develop. My husband had them on his arms, legs, neck and groin. Mine started on my leg and then spread to my thigh, arm and stomach. We went to the emergency room because the rash on my husband was spreading really fast all over his body. The doctor diagnosed us with scabies and perscribed Permethrin (a pestiside) to us. We did everything the doctor told us to do covered our whole bodies with it for 12 hours and washed all our clothes in hot water. A week later it was still spreading. We tried the Permethrin again but it didnt do anything but make us really sick. We went back to the doctor and we were perscribed Lindane (a neurotoxin, which is responsible for 17 confirmed deaths in the US). I decided to research and try something less toxic so I took a few suggestions from bloggers.
We used a combination of using Tea Tree Oil on the infected areas, 3000 mg of flax seed oil orally, switched to sulfur filled Head and Shoulders Shampoo and Grandpa's Thylox sulfur acne soap, and used the 10% sulfur and petroleum jelly on our whole bodies for 8 hours a day for 2 days. We washed our sheets everyday in hot water, sprayed lice bedding spray (Permethrin spray) on the mattress and sofa, vaccumed the carpets everyday, washed all clothes and towels in hot water everyday, bagged what we could not wash or did not want to keep wash and put it outside to freeze in the cold, washed the dog in sulfur medicated doggie shampoo, and I also used the dog shampoo to mop the floors So far we have not had any new red bumps and the old ones are healing and disappearing. We must have done something right. I just wanted to give you guys some hope and some suggestions. good luck.

Question: DID YOU USE THE SULFUR OINTMENT ALL OVER EACH BODY AREA OR ONLY ON THE BUMPS?

(continued)

We were talking on the phone one day, and he told me had to go pick up his eczema cream. This is where I connect the dots.

I decided to get off the treatment and see what'll happen. You see I never gave the new bumps a chance to really stick around. I constantly used sulfur, so I didn't quite get to see how the rash progressed (DAMN PARANOIA).

After a few days off of treatment my arms and fingers started to get a few bumps, and I did nothing. Then after a few more days the bumps went away on their own. EUREKA! When I had scabies, the bumps did not go away. They persisted and they would spread. I have now waited it out for a month with no treatment, and I'm confident in saying that I don't have scabies, and I haven't had them in a LONG time. Instead I have eczema due to the prior scabies infection. The sulfur rid me of my infestation a long time ago, and it looks like I've been treating eczema this whole time!

I share this story because I see many are on here are still struggling. Paranoia is factor in why we continue to treat ourselves. We want to rid ourselves of the infestation and we don't want to infect others. Finding the right cure is difficult, but believing that it actually worked is harder. Realizing I'm cured has lifted a huge weight off my shoulders. I'm able to touch others again without fear of infecting them. I don't have to walk around covered in sulfur ointment. I don't have to constantly clean anymore. I'm free! It wasn't my skin that needed the treatment it was my mind from paranoia. Best of luck on finding your cure!

Thanks Aaron. You're right. They're still hatching and I still have little blacks things on my skin and in the bath water. The amount is way down though. The salt, tea tree oil, and borax baths helped to scurry the demons out of my skin. I think the salt kills them in the water so they don't reinfest me when they come out. By the way, there seem to be more on the bottom of the tub when I add the tea tree oil so I think they really don't like it. The salt baths have been for the past two weeks or so and the lime-sulfur since I saw the post last week. I had used it last summer but developed dermatitis and thought it was a reaction to the lime-sulfur. In fact, it was a reaction to a cream I was putting on my face. The lime-sulfur addition has made a dramatic difference. The issue now is making sure they are killed on my clothes. I don't think my water heater is up to snuff again. Guess all the washing is hard on it. Still adding borax and ammonia. We can't get powdered A&H here, but you had mentioned that you thought that Sunlight had the same ingredients. Are you still of that opinion?
This post is old, I was wondering if you ever got rid of the pests. I've been trying to get rid of them since 2006 and I am sure some one is infecting my car , my jacket at work and getting them into my house some how. I've spent over Ten Grand trying to get rid of them. No one will live with me anymore due to this problem. The Hospital was a expensive waste of time. If you were able to get rid of them please comment.
