Thank you so much for your experience. This is sooooooooo crazy. I can't believe that medical researches haven't come up with a better treatment for this horrible horrible mite infection. I really thought I was losing my mind. But, I am starting to have good results these last 5 days and I feel almost normal again. Still obsessing a bit because I want this mite completely gone. I will continue on this regiment for a few weeks until all the scabies lines, redness and itching is gone. So, borax/hydrogen px/water tx 3 to 5 times a day all over my body, then 2 baths per day with Lavender oil, HydroPx, Tea tree oil and borax in bath or Armor Hammer baking soda. Inbetween all that, I have a little bottle of Witch Hazel I take everyhere with me and rub it on the second I feel itching. My skin looks great these last 5 days. I've been dealing with this for 4or 5 months. It's insane.
Susan, I am glad you have found a combination that seems to be working for you! Maybe you will not even need it for 3 more weeks. Remember that many or most of us go through at least a month where we are still itchy and rashy (though less so), even though everything is dead, and then it is time to be gentle with our skin, not use harsh mite killers on it. Post-treatment has really been one of the scariest times, because you have one bad day, and you think you're reinfected. You really have to go out on a limb and try to use logic rather than emotion at a certain point and take a chance in not treating anymore once you think you are cured, even though you will have doubts sometimes multiple times a day. I became obsessed with my skin, still am, and was taking pictures of rashy areas every day, sometimes multiple times, so i could compare and see if it looked better or worse than the day before. It was insane. Finally, I'm skipping days every so often, and there are lots less places to photograph. I was also keeping a scabies diary, and I am no longer writing in that every day. These things help me believe I am post-treatment/post-scabies now. It will happen!!

I would be very cautious about using demdexsolutions to treat scabies. First, if there is a question about what type of mite you have, you should get a scraping done by a dematologist to determine what's going on and then treat accordingly. All the online websites that sell treatments for scabies, demodex mites, fungal related infections, should ALL be viewed with caution. They are all very expensive and may lead you down a slippery road of credit card debt and no cure in sight. These are all plugs from people trying to make money off of people suffering. Beware.

I think there is one very important thing people don't talk about here. Your head your hair. I believe when you use the sulfur soap thn you should wash you hair before, thn use the soap, let it dry for 5-10 minutes and wash it off quick. Don't shower another 10 minutes because you like it so much. When you don't was your hair first than the regular hair shampoo and conditioner runs over your back and makes your back skin again ph neutral.
I used 3x permethrin and put th rest on new spots every time, I don't care I shouldn't but I don't want to wait till they explode again.
I cleaned all rugs and carpets with hot hot water and carpet cleaner, put plastic mattress cover over the beds and a fresh sheet every day over couches, and chairs. I sprayed lice spray and Fly killer spray on mattresses & Sofas. I still wash our bedsheets latest every 2nd day with Amonia and washing Powder. We shower with Sulfur soap and never wear clothes twices.
I'm sure it works. My daughter was very bad infested. She broke out again after the 2nd permethrin lotion festival LOL, now she is healing fine. Yes we do have still some itch here or there but I think it comes from the constant dry skin.
I also washed my dog with sulfur soap :) and yes he is still doing fine.
For women with bigger boobs (even if it sounds funny) Tip, when you take your bra off put some fabric underneath your boobs so that there is no Skin on Skin contact. It helped me because I got them in my bra lines.
My scabies tried to hide on my head so I used lice shampoo and put permethrin on every single bump I had on my scalp.
Sorry, when I don't spell perfectly, but I am a foreigner and still learning your language.
Good luck for everybody.
Be strong and fight them, be strict and keep everything clean, bleach, wash and wash and wash.
oh yes and I forgot... even your skin is dry after taking a shower with sulfur .... never ever put any lotion to moisture your skin on your skin.
Scabies like is moisture and they get even more when you like to eat sugar/sweet !
Remember no other lotions not sweet !

Week #4: I think we almost got it. 2 days ago I found at

DOLLAR GENERAL a

- FLEA, TICK & LICE spray von HOT SHOT

for treatment of Carpeting & upholstered Furniture. The BOTTLE is PURPLE and can be used also on dogs & Dog bedding.

active Ingredient is Permethrin 0.5%(same Ingredient like the lotion, but PLEASE DO NOT spray the HOT SHOT SPRAY on your skin)

I sprayed it on all Couches, on and all around our mattresses and even in fresh laundry bags or on our sheets, in shoes and on the dirty Laundry, even into my vacuum cleaner bag and into the brush. I still use the rest of Permethrin lotion on lonely scabies pimple on our skin.(You can see the difference between a new bite or old ones)and we wash & shower hair and body only with SULFUR SOAP. I buy it in a Mexican Store !(Wal Mart doesn't has it but CVS sells SULFUR SOAP too.)

Make sure that you don't put your clean laundry back into the bag or container where you had the dirty laundry in. I think scabies fall off your dirty laundry and crewel back in your clean laundry and thn .... bang you get them back :(

So think with every step you do. Wear Rubber Gloves to touch or put your dirty laundry into the washer ! Don't use these gloves for your fresh laundry, keep floors clean and don't wear the same socks which you have worn while walking around in the house - back in bed.

It's seems it works, we are almost scabies free. here or there a tinny one and that's it. We were infested with 7 family members and 3 of my kids had it really bad.

A lot of people in our area must have scabies right now, because the Wal-Mart pharmacy is constant out of Permethrin lotion. So don't worry you are not alone fighting against them :)

You won't have them forever, but when you don't go crazy with cleaning & vacuuming & washing your clothes and bed sheets every day, thn it will take longer for you to get rid of them.

I also cleant my carpet in the entire house with a machine and the hottest water I could use.

look also here www.Wikipedia.com :
Scabies may occur in a number of domestic and wild animals; the mites that cause these infestations are of different scabies subspecies.[4] These subspecies can infest animals or humans that are not their usual hosts, but such infections do not last long.[4] Scabies-infected animals suffer severe itching and secondary skin infections. They often lose weight and become frail.[10]

The most frequently diagnosed form of scabies in domestic animals is sarcoptic mange, which is found on dogs. The scab mite Psoroptes is the mite responsible for mange. Scabies-infected domestic fowl suffer what is known as "scabies leg".[citation needed] Domestic animals that have gone feral and have no veterinary care are frequently afflicted with scabies and a host of other ailments.[33] Non-domestic animals have also been observed to suffer from scabies. Gorillas, for instance, are known to be susceptible to infection via contact with items used by humans.[34]

That's interesting that you even mentioned this mite called PSOROPTES. It has not been discussed on this forum.

After looking at some pictures of different animals which have had this type of mite, I can see where it would cause problems in households around the world.

It's worth a discussion here.

Thanks for bringing this mite to this forum.

Look at the pictures of the horses. It's horrible. OMG!!

we had them almost 8 weeks. We used permethrin cream, sulfur soap (Mexican Store oder CVS), cleant all rugs & carpets with machine (u can rent it in most grocery stores), sprayed after every toilet visit & b4 seat and handle of sink with bleach, did let my dryer run always another 30 minutes, did put the fresh laundry in a fresh plastic bag. Never put fresh laundry in the same container where you had dirty laundry in, wash everything hot, wear none clothes 2x, don't put anything worn or dirty or used together with fresh laundry, disinfect or bleach everything with a spray bottle what you or other have touched or used. Don't share clothes, shoes, or blankets, don't sit where somebody else was sitting. Put sheets over your couch, sofa, recliner and wash daily !!! Spray your beds, mattresses, car seats, car or helmet with "Fleas lice & Tick" Spray von HOT SHOT. It has ingredient 5% permethrin !
Shower in the evening with sulfur soap, turn the water off, wash your complete body all over and let it dry off for ca. 10 min. thn wash it off quick and the best with a brush or washcloths, because sulfur kills the male mites which run over your skin to find a female !
Now something new:
I found a guy on you tube I think under "scabies cream" and or "Tick proof clothing for $1" he makes his own permethrin cream and brought me to an Idea. The spray I bought from HOT SHOT has 5% Permethrin, so I went to Farm & Fleet and bought a bottle of Permethrin 13.?%. Farmer use it on their animals. I mixed it w 5 Tablespoon Permethrin on 1 Gallon Water. In the evening I sprayed Sofa, couch, chairs, Carpet, mattresses, all around the bed, steps and swiped my basement floor with it, because I do and did Laundry in the basement and everybody knows, that dirty laundry sometimes lands on the floor. Scabies can run 2 inches in 1 min also enough time to run somewhere. I also sprayed curtains we contacted bec of closing a blind etc.
Try it and put over and over again Permethrin cream on every new dot you see. I took a metal foot cleaner and scratched with every shower the dried out pimples of my skin..... and don't itch, that spreads the eggs even more.
Good luck

This is a report I found you should read and maybe check out pictures in the internet about "mite Psoroptes"
I believe that we maybe got them from my daughters friend who has dogs which could be infested. Because she realized that she started itching after her Sleep over in her friends house.

Thanks Fiaff for your comment.

Here please read this:

Mites - Problem or Condition?

Mites identification, life, treatment

Symptoms include bare patchs or dander.

Application - rear legs.

Prior to this discussion getting fully underway we need to realize that there are many types of mites, four of which are most prevalent and each carrying there own level of severity of condition and treatment. Please understand, I am not an Acarologist (one who studies ticks and mites) but an Alpaca rancher who has encountered mites and done the research to understand the condition.

The four types of mites are divided into two groups; burrowing and surface. Burrowing mites are Sarcoptic and Demodectic. The surface mites are Chorioptic and Psoroptic. Type of mite identification is critical to successful treatment in that the type of mite defines treatment.

Sarcoptic mites are the most egregious and are the single mite that can transfer to humans causing a condition known as Scabies. Demodectic are most common in dogs and cats but are present in cattle, horses, and other livestock. Because these burrow, injection is the recommended treatment for alpacas. Dectomax had a better impact than Ivermec [1].

Psoroptic mites have been specifically associated with lesions around the ears and face [2].

The problem is not that scabicides don't exist here, it's that everything is labeled in Chinese and I don't read Chinese, and my speech is poor enough that it's really hard to communicate with the doctor or pharmacist.
Thank you so much for your (quick) responses to my posts, too. I'm elated to find out that the sulfur springs are a good shot at getting over this. I can order something online, but until finding this forum all I could find online was treatments I was afraid were scams. But browsing here has really helped a lot, with my peace of mind so far, and I'm confident with gitting rid of the little buggers in the next few weeks.
I went to a pharmacist with the word permethrin %5 written on a card, and showed it to the pharmacist, as they can look up english words on their computers, and he asked me what it was for. I showed him the rash on my stomach and he shook his head "no", then took me to the shelf and handed me this tube that says "Bowlin Scheree Cream".
This tube is 22gm and the ingredient list is happily enough in English:
Betamethasone 17-Valerate (Base).... 0.5mg
Gentamicin (as sulfate)(potency)... 1.0mg
Aloe Vera.......... 5%
Tolnaftate.......... 10.0mg
Iodochlorhydoxyquin.......... 10.0mg
The company is "Panion & BF Biotech Inc." with a lot of other Chinese characters.
Once again, thank you for your responses, I'm sure to be a regular at the hot springs from now on!
IF you really have scabies, this the lotion you got won't kill them! Read for what the lotion you got is made for:

INDICATIONS
Eczema including: atopic, infantile, stasis and discoid eczemas. Besnier's (flexural) prurigo. Otitis externa. Neurodermatoses including lichen simplex, lichen planus. Seborrheic dermatitis, contact sensitivity reactions and allergies.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to the preparations
Rosacea and acne vulgaris
Perioral dermatitis, perianal and genital pruritus
Viral infections of the skin (e.g. herpes simplex, chickenpox)
Gravitational ulcers
Tuberculosis of the skin
The use of Betnovate skin preparations is not indicated in the treatment of primarily infected skin lesions caused by infections with fungi or bacteria or dermatoses in children under one year of age, including dermatitis and napkin eruptions.

The Elimite Permethrin Cream 5% which are prescribed by qualified medical professionals is extremely effective in curing scabies.

What you are doing here is put scare tactics in the people posting here.

You probably work for one of the many internet scam companies that sell sulphur homeopathic creams, which are way overpriced and DO NOT WORK to cure scabies.

Try to get the dermatolgist to precribe stromectol ivermectin tablets, too. This, along with a good scabacide cream will work to cure anyone of scabies.

Please beware of people posting on this forum who may work for scam artists.

This may sound crazy but desperate times....having had an awful case of scabies for past month in desperation and to stop itching I sprayed it with spray net (hair spray ) then covered with sulfur powder while damp. Almost immediately rash and itch began healing. Spray keeps them smothered and prevents spreading. The hair spray I used contained ether. My skin wasn't damaged just dry. Moisturizers cleared that. God bless you all.

Trust me done bleach baths peroxide and borax. Done the perm. Treatment twice everyone in the house showering nightly with neem clove in neem shampoo when we get out spray entire body with clove oil and tea tree oil neem oil mixed in some water rub it in all over and air dry not so itchy but so sick of doing all the laundry which I add borax to and showering every night but I am so afraid to stop. I run around with a magnifying glass trying to see if they are still there every bump red spot I think it might be a new one just going way overboard but I am sick of them.
