haha... thought I was gonna post my scabies was gone.. i was clear for about two weeks. ran into the girl that gave it to me back in december 2010. Slept with her...

Haha, now I have it again.

I'm not so stressed this time... PERMETHRIN WORKS... you just can't lose your mind.. take as directed 3 days... wait a week, do it again.

then STOP treating... you're still gonna itch anotehr week or two... ignore it... it goes away. during the permethrin treatments set aside a few sets of clothes you're gonna wear and rewear... keep that clothes near the washer/dryer... wash, wash wash. spray clorox over everything... crappy ritual... but by the time you're done with your second treatment... you'll be fine. stop freaking out... a lot of the itching and crawling sensation is mental... your nervous system is on overload with stress...

good luck.

Here's a tip that no one seems to have brought up yet:

Grind up some artemisia leaves into a paste & rub it deep into the infected area.(Artemisia argyi, the plant used in Chinese acupuncture)

It's quite a potent natural insectiside known to traditional oriental medicine.

Hope that helps.

Commonly referred to as mugwort in the west, just found that out.

I think I am cured. I used the prescription permethrin. (elimite). I am going to use sulfur soap for another few weeks, just to be safe. This has been a nightmare. I have never felt so dirty in my life....and I don't know where I got this.

Hi Qtip, It's funny you should mention peroxide. Before I knew what I had, I was using peroxide which helped in healing. It didn't kill the little buggers though. The sulfur is wretched but effective. Be good about maintaining for a while so you stay on the winning side of the battle rather than give them the opportunity to take hold again. I wish you all well and if you are new here, don't get discouraged. In the over all scheme of things, there are worse things to get. This can be cured with a little work and a little inconvenience.
Hi Alice I bought some cream from dermis that is suppose to help the mites go away and I bought at wal mart sulfur soap should I just put the some on my head cozbi do have some on my head that I am sure of ? Can u give me an advice z

DERMISIL???? What a scam.$50 for small bottle of "God only knows what." $50 for a small jar of cream that contains "God only knows what?" Don't you just love all the oh-so-wonderful reviews they put up on their website. You gotta LOVE THAT!! What are the ingredients of their scam products and at what percentage? Let's see the MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet)?
As far as I know, you cannot purchase a 10% sulfur soap from Walmart. I have only found this in Hispanic pharmacies or ordered online.
Use tried and true scabies products which are much cheaper than internet scams.
Buyer Beware!!
Use ivermectin, permethrin, borax, hydrogen peroxide, benzyl benzoate, epsom salts, lindane, eurax, "bleach," sulfur lime dip, sardex benzyl benzoate spray, advantix, frontline plus, essential oils.
Stay away from internet scams like cedarcide and dermisil. You want you money back? Good luck with that!!

Yea, that dermisil is crap and expensive too! You can get the 10% sulfer soap and ointment in some Walmarts, but not all of them. It is in the hispanic section if your Walmart has one. You can also buy sulfer powder on ebay and mix your own and make it stronger if your brave enough.
I have used everything and even got rid of them for 4 months, but some how got reinfected. I know it isnt from personal contact and could only be from some infected clothes I bought at a thrift store. I have learned that contrary to the information out there, scabies can survive a washing and lay dormant in your clothes for quite some time. All it takes is one to survive to start up a colony again. If your are still using perethrins, and have had then where many generations are in the skin, then I suggest that you use it 5 days in a row, as new generations pop up daily. Only where clothes that you are willing to throw away during this process or iron everything, as this will kill both the scabies and eggs.(dont miss one!:() Clean your invironment and get a plastic cover for your bed.

I have been cured for about 2 weeks now, and I have not posted for a few weeks but you really should do the permethrin, it is the only thing to kill this stuff, but you must do other things to prevent reinfestation. My advise is to have your doctor also prescribe Stomectrol if you have no insurance, it will cost $50.00 for 4 pills, this needs to be done one week and followed up with it a week later. I did 11 premethrin treatments, which is very toxic. I was desperate. You should buy a plastic mattress cover at wallmart around $8.00 for a queen size, also buy the plastic pillow case cover for your pillow. I found that it was a lot easier to wipe the plastic down with a bleach and water solution. I also wrapped my couch in plastic drop clothes and put a clean sheet over it to make it easier to sit on. I put one under my pillows, one on each arm and tucked it in very good, also did one around all of my cushions, tucked it under really good, to seal them in so they can't get to you. I sprayed the lice spray with has the premethrin in it, every 2 to 3 days, on my couch, carpet around the couch, carpet around my bed and anywhere else I sat. I did bleach water on my kitchen and bathroom floors, let it dry, yes it will leave a haze but it seems to kill off the scabies
I did the bleach bath, DO NOT DO THE BATH, it is better to get a small spary bottle and mix 1/10 bleach and fill with water, after your shower spray down your body, including your face, this seem to help kill off the males that live on your skin, the females are deep and it will not get to them. With the remaining amount pour over your head and let this dry do not wipe off, when doing your face I did it last, don't drench your face and have a blow dryer around to dry it quicker. I was desperate, my girlfriend had gotten this from her dad, went through a lot of treatments also, but after you use the premethrin it will take anywhere from 3 to 4 weeks to quit itching. I could not take it so I got the scabies wash for dogs, which is basically a sulfur bath. I did this and I have not had any problems since then. I bathed in it and drenched my head and let it dry again, do not get this in your eyes, if you do flush really good. I dried off with a blow dryer and left this on for 4 days, yes I did not smell good but at least the bugs were not biting me any more. I still carry a tube of premethrin with me, if I see a bump or a track I treat it only for the spot it is on and around it about an inch or so. I am very cautious because I have had to work this whole time and I wipe my mouse down with an alcohol pad and my keyboard, since I am at the computer all day long. I sprayed lice spray around my desk and even on top of my desk every 2 to 3 days, as to kill the cycle of the hatching scabies. I have been virtually scabies free for the past two weeks. I still change my sheets everyday and wipe down the mattress and pillow. I have read so many people getting reinfested. ALso spary the lice spray on your car seats every 2 - 3 days, to kill the cycle. Everything you touch, kitchen cabs, door knobs etc. wipe with bleach water. These are really tough to get rid of. Good luck

Ok people I bought 3 sulfur 10 % soap bar from wal mart , I bought a Anti allergen pillow case which says that it is Walterproof and protect from

Also should I buy another bottle of quelada 5 % premethrin and soap everyday with sulfur, spray 1/10 bleach and water all over my body for a few days . I bought a dog shampoo for fleas that I will he using for my hair in order to kill scabies for about 5-6 days? I'm
Thinking of sleeping on a matress that is rarely used ,put it in a room that we do not use and sleep there til the end of my treatment. Again very sorry for all the questions but I Realy want to make things right

has anyone tried this here are is the link ESP essential skin care products
http://www.espbotanicals.com/strongest_organi...

i have been struggling with scabies for about a 9 months now and i am in the first week of yet another treatment idea. i took my 2 pets to the vet for sulfur dips and ivermectin injections, the vet recommended doing this 4 times, so i will be treating for 45 days.

i bought some pet sulfur shampoo to keep up the treatment after the vet just in case and i got an organic shampoo for them as well because sulfur dries the skin. also i have been using 10 % sulfur 4 nights on and then neem oil.

i take a bath every night with TTO and clove oil, sometimes bleach but it started to sting my skin after just 4 nights. i have been putting the yellow sulfur in my hair mixed with coconut oil.

but please let me know if anyone has tried this link and what else you do for your pets, i have had success with getting them off me put due to some miss information in the past i was not treating my 2 pets, so now i honestly know and believe that pets can have scabies mites burrow in their skin and live as well. so now i'm treating all 3 of us.

any thoughts on how to kill them faster?

Dear Mommof2, if you can not afford the treatments or the doctors, This will be very hard to get rid of. You should try to get the Premethrin treatment, you will still have side effects from the treatment, but if your enviroment is clean, you should not get reinfected. You might try the over the counter Lice shampoo and apply all over the body. I did this and it seemed to help cut the numbers down. But you must clean with bleach water solution at all times, except on carpet couch and bedding, you can buy the lice spray and spray everything. Although this gets very expensive. You might check with your local health department, they might be able to help you.
