2 doses of Ivermectin and 4 tubes of Permethrin, 4 doctors 2 of whom say Scabies, yet today the derm Dr. says the skin scraping test results show nothing there! I made him do a second skin test,so let's see if it takes another month for the results to come back negative again. This is a worker's comp situation. I was exposed to it at work, for a fact.(Are they now trying to discredit my claim?) Also given drugs for anxiety and itching. Now they would have me (and my employer) thinking I'm nuts and this isn't real! Hell, I had to look it up, didn't even know what "Norwegian Scabies" was!(1st Dr stated it in writing)

Skin scrapings are notoriously unreliable unless done properly. They must take scrapings from several areas and especially those areas that show irritation, otherwise the test is of little use. They must know what they're doing.

I didn't know what was going on and I still don't. From reading all this it doesn't seem like they ever go away.

I got scabies there months ago and treated for everything but. Finally found out what it was and after 400 spent, I have the easiest solution. On amazon you can purchase permthrin for much much cheaper. Sulfur soap, scabies furniture spray, and a bed bug cover for every bed in the house. Treat yourself along with everyone all at the same time. Clean linens, clothes worn, clothes near worn clothes, ect ect. Put pillows in dryer for thirty minutes. Hot hot hot. Finally, cover all beds with the protectors. Keep washing daily, all lines as tedious as it is you must. Keep covering yourself daily with sulfur soap for ten minutes. It is also good for the skin. Two weeks later, repeat but now take the bed protectors off to expose a bug-free mattress. Put them in a trash bag and tie tightly. Put that in the garage or somewhere away from the rooms or living area. If you feel the need, repeat.

This is how I got rid of scabies in my hair.
I treated my face with benzyl and tea tree oil and plastered every burrow so that they could not move away
By this time they were off the rest of my body
I bought a fine comb and combed syrup through my hair morning and evening to get rid of the eggs
I then washed my hair and tied it in tiny pony tails all over my head to prevent active movement.
I then closed my hair completyely with duct tape so they could not go anywhere.
I had to use the cream on my head to get rid of them and in absolute desperation rubbed pure bleach through my scalp.Left it on for 15mins(Guess no doctor would recommend it.)I did get an infection but it has cleared and I am now scabie free.
There is hope and I pray you all cured soon
I suffered with this for 6 months and did all the sreilising of linen and clothes

I have found that putting any type of oil in your hair and leaving it there as long as possible and letting it dry in your hair, then combing it with metal lice nit comb often really helps. They cannot hang on to the oily hair and you can keep combing them out. It helps at least. Also works for your body. Add bath oil or baby oil to your bath with epsom salt and soak in it very helpful also and it doesn't dry your skin.

I believe that I have had scabies for the last three years of my life. I find it really helpful when I submerge myself in a tub with really hot water for approximately thirty minutes everyday. I believe that the hot water and the time drown or burn the mites. Just be careful not to get into boiling water but as hot as you can handle. I also iron my clothes everyday and I even iron my bed. I wash my clothes in hot water and when I go to the gym I go into the sauna for 30 minutes. the war with these mites has been a hard one but I am sure that slowly I'm winning the war and I hope my routine help those who are having my same problem with these annoying mites.

Anyone can help please. I am a bit depressed after reading these posts. My son and I have been treated for the last 4 weeks with perm and the bugs don't seem to go away. My head itches like crazy and my 3 yr old baby rashes are coming back. It has gotten much better but I feel we are still infested, specially my head. How do I treat furniture? My car seat? This is crazy. I think my son got it at day care. Many thanks for the advice.

Why does it seem like this never goes away? Sadly I'm at the very beginning of my road, just officially diagnosed today and sitting in my first, apparently of many, useless applications of permethrin. I'm scared to touch my face or scalp (even though it itches) and haven't treated my whole scalp because my mom has been using my bed and now she's probably got em too, with the rest of the house sure to follow. Talk about tea tree and borax and acid has me thinking two things: first, the raw cost of it all. We can barely keep ourselves fed currently and now I've brought what are basically a microscopic plague of ticks into our non-air-conditioned home. My mom needs a job (I'm disabled) or we're going to lose everything, and she won't be able to find employment with a crust of bugs around her nostrils. A post I read said to sleep in a mask soaked with something, while wearing earplugs and eye goggles and a jogging suit. Is that going to be me now? This seems like an intense outbreak with no solid cure and, if you even can win by purifying your imperfect surroundings, there are people roiling about, in gyms, in Wal-Mart, on the buses and subways, all shedding a 28-day resilient parasite everywhere they go.. I keep wanting to get Ivermectrin (or whatever it is, I probably won't be poorly versed for long).. My dad is dead, from a tornado that took his life early and for the past three years every single moment has been incredibly tough, financially and emotionally. We eat a terrible diet, half of the house's electricity is fried and the dryer won't work without that fixed so all clothes would have to be dried outside on our newly added short clothesline. The water barely gets hot, and I have a bad back so I can't risk taking a bath (even if just to see if it spreads them rapidly to my face).. I don't mean to be a fear-monger, but these are my honest thoughts. I couldn't afford one bed cover, much less four for here and three for my girlfriend's house (where there are two yet-to-be infected children). Its been an awful day and I just want to read a book, but I look at my Lysol-soaked bed and see armies of micro-enemies just waiting on me to lay down. I don't even have spare bedding, don't even have a sheet on my bed. My blanket is rolled up soaked with Lysol in the corner of the room and my other few blankets are locked inside the storage unit we're going to lose in a few days because the bill is unpaid. I'm chain-smoking my few cigs and all I have is a blotchy red zone on my right bicep that has grown down onto my elbow and fresh smaller spots on my left arm. I haven't suffered day one yet and this forum has me sick, shaking, heart thudding uneasily in my chest. A dark thought I had earlier is that maybe you guys should go out of your way to attempt to infest some of these asshole doctors almost everyone is encountering. Smear their car door handles, get sloppy in the waiting room. Its an evil thing to say, sure, but then we'd truly have them working for us as they've supposedly pledged their lives to do in the first place, finding a solid cure for themselves. And I wonder what they know about permethrin. They say don't treat your head, but everyone here has easily found out they'll eat an exposed head alive. They know. So I'd guess they're securing some legal protection in their "neck-down!" instruction, when we're all bulging with tumors in fifteen years. I have my mediocre patches of this curse, my lovely blue-eyed girl has it on her face. And quite heavy over nearly her entire body. She thought the culprit was ants and got prescribed antihistamines, and then it spread for a couple months longer. I saw it appear on my arm, it tingled like a visitor, but I'm half-scared of the whole doctor experience, a spineless jellyfish as far as me being equal to everyone else goes. This sounds like the final nudge to send me to Hermit Town.. But at least she's in this with me.. We can bear it together, as we bear the rest.

I am cured. I have my life back and am so grateful.
I had a bad case of it on my face.
I had one on the corner of my eye and had to put drops in my eyes 3 times a day to get the eggs out.My nose was full of them (On the outside).
When you use the cream these little buggers move elsewhere.
The only way I found it effective was to apply the cream to the burrows I could see and plaster it up.Bensyl benoade is cheap and will kill them within 20 minutes.
I got rid of them on my body but getting them out of my hair was a mission. I do have posts on previous page on how I treated them in my hair
I slept with and covered my hair all the time after bathing with duct tape so they could not get out and go back to my body. Good luck

the correct spelling and name of it is benzyl benzoate. Benzemul is the product name. You can buy this online from australian websites.
BB, along with Stromectol ivermectin tablets is the key to a cure of this plague.

The cream that we are given to use works on the scabies nervous system to kill them
It works to a lesser degreeon our nervous system and the tingling feeling you are experiancing is as a result of this.
It will become less frequent and after 5 weeks I doubt your scabies has returned
I write this from my own experiance as a layman not a doctor.
I am,however, going to ask my doctor when he would like to write my thesis on scabies LOL

This recipe ought to scare just about anything out of anywhere! Haven't tried it but it looks powerful! Maybe slap it on your scalp - just don't go out:)

The safest and most effective cure is ivermectin (Stromectol pills or Noromectin by Norbrook at the feed store). If you have it only on your skin 3 or 4 doses 5 to 7 days apart can cure you. If you have it on your scalp it take more doses ( based on your weight) it might take a couple of months. Take it on an empty stomach 5 to 7 days apart. It works! It definitely worked for me. The environment is not that important. The most importAnt thing is to cure your skin in an effective way. Don't waste your time and money with all the non-useful things suggested on the scary threads around here ...

Yes! Ivermectin works. It saved me twice from the scabies itchy rashes. Unfortunately My condition was resistant to permethrin. The first time I wasted months with permethrin and other crazy treatments I found on the Internet until I started reading only the posts from the cured ones. I realized that that most of the times-when permethrin is not enough- people are cured after taking ivermectin, it can be from 2 to many doses. So I started taking ivermectin and got cured in about 3 months. I took it once a week. I took Noromectin diluted in water on an empty stomach. I raised the dose a little higher compared to the one suggested for my weight.
The second time (that happened about a year later) I started taking Noromectin at the first symptoms which I recognized right away. It took only 2 doses to get cured. I took the second dose after 1 week.
I just hope that the pathogens that cause this condition (sarcoptes scabies) will not become resistant to ivermectin too. It was the only thing that worked for me.
Hope this helps.

I've had scabies for 6 months-possibly much longer. They DO infest your scalp. They become resistant to ivermectin and permthrin.Ivermectin no longer works at all... I'm trying anything and everything to try and get rid of them. This is a living hell for me- no joke. Im trying a "parasite cleanse" using herbs, i.e., wormwood, cloves, etc. that I bought online. Any other remedies would be greatly appreciated.
How do you used and what dosage did you used for Invermectin? There are some suggestion that you need to need to take invermectin according to your body weight and the mites life cycle. I believe to take it on 1,2,4,5,7,8,10 days and repeat it
Did you do so?
