I think I have just about eliminated the scabies.
I unfortunately started itching in November a few weeks after coming back from overseas. I did sleep in hostels and one was rather dirty(Dirty linen). Yuk.
It started with a scally thing between my fingers and I only started treatment the middle of December after browsing the internet for skin conditions. I then realized I had,had this thing between my fingers
I had spread the scabies because of scrathing.
Dont laugh but as I have said before if the males cannot get to the females then they cannot mate so!!!
The last 2 nights I have coated my legs and arms in syrup and salt.
I can actually feel exactly where there is a new one and last night I only had 1 on 1 arm. The scabies fight to get away from the salt and can feel them move so you know exactly where they are .Hubby does my back, stomach etc. from 6 in the evening and I remove it before I go to bed.
It is best to use old sheets although the syrup does wash off
I do not use clothes or bedding twice and boil them everyday.

Well I took a bleach bath an borax, it kinda worked. The biting and ich was eased for about four hours. I used the perm at night and I got 8 hours of sleep. I don't recommend bleaching but it kinda works. I did see tiny white things floating in the water. It might of been the eggs or the dudes or dead skin not sure. This morning I'm going to just use the borax in the shower, because my tub is crap, it's made for like a child and I'm 5"11. I'm going to use warm water then the perm. The doc said wait till hair is dry the water will dilute the cream. If you have the cream on stay away from water. I have found the burrow so I'm going to lol cream the Hell out of it. I do have scabs on some bumps so I believe it's working. It's very important to disrupt the life cycle of these things. They need YOU to survive, and it's very important to clean your environment around you, the dead scabies, and poop will make u ich, so clean! It's like 30 degrees in the day and 19 at night so I leave my clothes shoes outside. I wait 5 days wash with borax and sit outside for 24 hours, because I live in an apartment and the dryer is from 1980 and has no temp control. I've had this for 11 days now an seem to be keeping on top of it. I do get spots that come and go go crazy but I think its normal. Cleaning is the best thing to do, but the most important thing is not re-infecting yourself. I'll post on my progress in a few days, thanks to needpeace for the info, but Dr said no. Good luck they may have won the battle, but the war is not over!! Hoora!

How in the world did all of you guys get scabies???? I don't have it and after reading some of this stuff, I want to ensure I never ever will. Is there a way of telling if someone else has it?
you get scabies from animals mostly. I dont know why everywhere says that you can't get it from animals because its a different mite, but i live in florida and there are s lot of sick animals running around because its warm here. My sister got scabies from her cat and gave it to me. It sucks, but yes, you do get scabies from animals. I think that most people get it from animals. So if tippy see a sick animal, don't touch it. No matter how sorry you feel for it. Its just bad luck waiting to happen. Don't pet stray animals. Im a vegan and i want to help every animal, but i learned a lesson from my sister.

the thing is that you got to know how to properly use these things.

The SAL3 soap is supreme, but you gotta use it correctly.

Remove all your clothes and put them in the washing machine and use as hot a water and chorine (or ammonia) that your clothes can tolerate. The ammonia alone is another topic about washing with - later to discuss.

So all your clothes are off. Get the water in your shower or bath as hot as you can tolerate.

OK, get the lather going with the SAL3 bar soap, STARTING WITH YOUR HAIR ! THAT;R RIGHT, YOUR HAIR FIRST. Then get the bar and keep the lather going going and kind of rub the soap into you as you lather.

Work it down all the way to the toes. Now just stand there awhile - wait as long as you can. You will smell the sulfur for sure. And so will the paraistes who are now suffering more than you are!!!!

Now rinse off with hot water. No need for a washcloth or loofah. Actually better without one.

Now repeat the procedure above again.

Rinse off.

Repeat again. But this third time, don't rinse off. Instead, get a damp towel and just pat dry.

That's right. Leave it on people!!!

Just pat dry.

Put your PJ's on or whatever.

Go to sleep.

When you wake up in the morning, take a hot shower right away with the SAL3 again. Do this for three days with the pat dry at night.

Every night afterwards, you will notice a difference. The first week is holy heck, but this works.

Like i SAID, IT'S IN THE WAY TO DO IT. tHE saL3 SOAP IS CHEAP FIX.

gOOD LUCK.

So lets say I just use the clove oil and coconut oil, does that alone get rid of them?
No, Mark. You need a prescribed scabicide to kill the scabies, like permethrin and ivermectin. You should ask for refills, too, as these meds do not kill the eggs. You can use the clove oil on the days that you have no med on your skin, but yes, it's a good idea to mix the clove oil with coconut oil, as the clove oil is pretty strong. I heard that clove oil kills the eggs, but I'm not sure this is true.

Mark- i used everything- bleach, sulphur soap, msm.... then totally fell in love with coconut oil, clove oil and neem oil mix.(ordered in bulk multiple times from amazon) Neem oil doesnt burn, but clove does. I made it so strong that the clove oil really burned in sensation when I applied it to my face. I APPLIED IT EVERYWHERE NIGHTLY, WASHED IT OFF IN THE SHOWER IN THE MORNING AND REAPPLIED EVERYWHERe EXECPT MY HAIR FOR THE DAY (AS I HAD TO GO TO WORK WITHOUT GREASY HAIR.) Tonnes of the stuff. Minmum a month of twice daily application.
Post scabies is a bitch by the way, and finally im nearly over that!!

It seems the overall consensus is that doctors nowadays have vastly outdated knowledge when it comes to our lovely little mites. However, I wanted to clarify one thing before I wage all-out war on my microscopic enemies:
I have been told by every doctor that I have seen, nurses, friends, and every website on scabies I've visited that, due to acidity levels on the face and scalp, scabies just don't like it and won't take root there.
What are your experiences with this? Have you had burrows/bumps/other symptoms on these areas? Do you treat your face and scalp with the same products as the rest of your body if you do treat them? Have you been cured without treating your face and scalp?
If they gt into your scalp the only treatment that is going to be successful is stremectol... the lotions prescribed are topical for the skin but on the scalp they just make em mad ! haha.. they come back in force.. i have batttled it for over a yr.. the only thing that has worked on my face and scalp is the oral stremectol tablets and i have only tken my first dose 2 days ago but already can tell a signifigant differene.. i can sleep.. before if i turne the lights out i could feel them in my scalp crawling from hair folicle to hair folicle.. burrowing..i swear i could feel them when the eggs hatched ad they moved to another hair folicle after chewing that one off.. i have half the hair i had a yr ago.. i have ow started gently massaging virgin coconut oil on my scalp.. it helps moisturise it aftr all the lice and crap the doctors prescribed my heaad.. after me telling them the are not lice... but still they would look a t my hair folicles for eggs when the dang things were under my skin.. but to gt them to do a scraping took a act of god ! Makes a person wonder jusst if we will ever really get rid of thd dang things...

Get a large bucket and wash your linen in boiling water everyday
Hang your pillow out everyday as a pillow is difficult to wash
Boil your pillow slips and cover your pillow with 4 pillow slips.
They can burrow through material.
Also Canola oil or olive oil saturated on the head. Then use a hot hair dryer until every hair on your head is hot. The hair dryer makes the oil hot and kills the scabies.
I got rid of them this way.
If I felt the slightest itch during the day I would put the dryer on that area.Canola and olive oil wash out of the hair with one wash.Do this morning and evening.

To all people new to scabies, come to this forum for information: don't freak out.

Scabies is quite easily treated for most.

If you're careful, don't cut corners and think spend a minute thinking about how you might get re-infected (and acting appropriately) scabies is usually beatable in a single dose of cream.

It's not the end of the world. You just have to take care. You can kill the bastards if you're careful, and get your life back pretty fast.

Read my post above--little way up the page.
Boil your linen and clothes--forget the washing machine
Just use a large bucket and pour the boiling water fron the kettle or big pot onto it.
Read my post above re the hair issue
Wear rubber gloves at the computer and rinse them afterwards.Wear socks--if they are on the floor they seek their host.I was reinfected on the feet and legs this way.
I scratched for 5 weeks before I saw the doctor so you can imagine how bad I was
I am on the mend but it has been a battle
Apart from the sores they leave the mites pose no health risk.

Scabies go to the scalp and ears! I'll post the link here of google images... http://www.google.com/imgres... ...guess I should have shrunk that url.
Crusted scabies are same as regular scabies, but complicated (They infest by the thousands without stopping at the neck border.) I have links open in front of me. CDC says do your whole body hair ears and scalp.
If its not working. do what i did...get100% sulfur from the garden section of your local store. You'll find it under insecticides for garden. 100% Sulfur. Buy some powder at the dollar store, mix it between 20 and 50 percent, strong as you can handle it. Douse your scalp and your feet regularly. Sulfur is non toxic to humans, in the elemental state, but boy it'll tear your eyes for a minute.
Do your pillows and couches and matress. You won't believe how it helps. Make a paste for the bumps out of sulfur and vaseline.
You may add a cup to bath water with a liquid soap.(Elemental sulfur is not water soluble!) add the soap and you have a mineral bath. We fought scabies for years while the doctors prescribed permethrin from the neck down...Finally at the risk of becoming a scabies specialist...I tackled it myself with outstanding results.
God Bless and You're not crazy. Here's another link. http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Scabies/Pages/Co...
Hi! Im curious to know, how exactly did you got it of your head ? And did you ever get post scabies? We're a family of 9 and have been battling this mite for 8 months, any more information would be very helpful!! Thanks!

It seems the scabies find the only place where the cream has not been rubbed in
We are told to coat the body up to the neck.
i know this is the way it went to my hair
I got rid of them by oiling my hair in canola oi(Less expensive) or olive oil and then using a hair dryer. The oil gets hot and kills the scabies so you have to take care.
I think the best way to use the cream is to coat as told up to the neck then sleep with a face mask so they can't get to your face.Don't forget to put the mask behind the ears as well.
Boil your linen or put it in a tub and throw boiling water onver it everyday.Forget the washing machine.
IMy dermotologist has said I am scabies free and has given me a wonderful cream to use twice a day.
He is 100% sure,I am 95% sure and still examine myself to see if there is anything new coming up.

Needpeace well my doctor told me I was in post scabies. The ich was really intense. It was worse then when I had the bugs. I ich here and there, but the "biting" has stopped. My skin has taken a pounding, I got a rash from the cream, but I got stuff to deal with it. I think I caught it early, my derm said she couldn't even take a scraping. I go back today its been about 2 weeks so we shall see what the deal is. I hope your doin better ill post when I get Bach,(its a hour ride) so it will be a bit. I do get new spots but they come and go. My skin is healing I will have a scar or two, but ill take that over the bugaboos any day. Have a good one.
