I have them in my scalp as well. I can feel them crawling down on my face. It's good to know that I am not crazy as other people report same thing. Going to war with scabies. We need to hit them with all we've got and in same time. No mercy. Stay strong and God bless.
Next my post is what I am thinking I am going to follow, found it in another forum. http://www.wikihow.com/Discussion:Cure-Scabie...

In more advanced cases scabies can live on the face and scalp but prefer living below the neckline. In some cases the scabies treatments itself force the scabies to seek shelter on untreated areas as some treatment directions advice not to use above the neck. You can use sulfur treatments full body if you are dealing with scabies on the face and scalp.

You could also be dealing with another type of mite so if the sulfur does not work you should get a skin scrapping to determine exactly what kind of mite you are dealing with.

I bought microscope hand held camera off eBay for $80. And I now have picture of the mite that is living in my scalp.

They look like bird mites. Long legs and an oval smooth body and the scissors shaped cutting mouth. Bird mite are said not able to reproduce in humans. So what are they?

You are absolutely correct. My son is paralyzed and got them all over his head and neck. Had to shave his head to treat them properly.

I'm itchy around the ears and scalp it could be that me and my son now has scabies from my mom :( I never herd of or had these before I'm nervous and worried about my son and my family.. My mom went to the hospital and they prescribed a cream that cost 50$... I'm taking my infant to the doctor tomorrow so at a lost for words.. I noticed when I seen the tiny red bumpy rashes on my infant, he also had like a puss filled bump on his navel I'm not sure if this is related to scabies I worried about my baby... I hope everyone who has these little monsters get threw this... I feel do bad for everyone... Sorry about the long message.. Thanks for your help commentators

I'm 52 and these little beasts love my ears and scalp. Looking on forum now for help. Dr. refused to treat kids cos they weren't symptomatic and i wonder if thats why i can't seem to kick this. vacumed sons room and bed and the crawlies are really bad to.ite. Using vaseline and sulfur ointment for cattle. Had to wash off cheeks though, burning my face, 2 months now, will keep on keeping on. Going to find dr. I have swelling of my eye sockets, above and below the eye. Besides squeezing out the raised areas, I am treating with T-Tree solution, Borax solution, and salycylic acid. Have used Simalasan and CVS boric acid eye wash, but these two products just sent them running toward my hairline. May try again, though, using a diff strategy. Haven't used iodine.

About a month ago my nephew was diagnosed with having scabies & as a precaution we all went to Doctor to get Permethrin Cream and did everything as directed. Everything was gone.. Nov 25 I felt itching around my nose, eyebrows, above my lips, cheeks, ears & scalp :( today I came to doc & tells me scabies can't live on face.. He seen my ears & face & said I have Senorrheic Dermatitis it's a skin problem thatay occur when skin glands create oil or by stress. Wat do u all think it may be?

Hi Scratch! You were right, the lindane zaps the burrows pretty quickly. I had a few new ones where the chinese ones were, I'm assuming from a couple eggs hatching, zapped them with the lindane. I increased the cleaning procedures. If I hadn't done enough iver, perm, Benz, etc, to kill a small army I'd do the allover lindane. I've been keeping eurax or Benz on my hands and feet. Most of the time I feel pretty darn normal, and forget all about it.
How is your post scabies coming along?
Where can I get the lindane?

Lindane is too harsh Linda! Especially for your face. Buy sulfur soap and “Sulfur8” hair/scalp conditioning grease. You can use the sulfur8 as a lotion for the face.

That will work for both dermatitis and scabies. Also look into Lice B Gone and other enzyme based scabies treatments.

It seems the overall consensus is that doctors nowadays have vastly outdated knowledge when it comes to our lovely little mites. However, I wanted to clarify one thing before I wage all-out war on my microscopic enemies:
I have been told by every doctor that I have seen, nurses, friends, and every website on scabies I've visited that, due to acidity levels on the face and scalp, scabies just don't like it and won't take root there.
What are your experiences with this? Have you had burrows/bumps/other symptoms on these areas? Do you treat your face and scalp with the same products as the rest of your body if you do treat them? Have you been cured without treating your face and scalp?
Yes I had them on my face, scalp. ears, in my nose, anus in fact...legs arms buttlocks and my back terribly.

I have been finally been cured, Given Permetherin, that didn't work, then Prednisone steroids in tablet form. In a month the nightmare was gone. But I still had pimples break out. Doctor gave me a prednisone shot. Also steroid creams, I continue to use the steroid creams because the dead scabbies are under my skin still. It's irritating, but no longer the horrifying nightmare. just have to fight. I'm so happy now...

The problem seems to be they don't know what they are doing as Doctors,(Dermatologists). I went through six of them, giving me meds for conditions I didn't have, and letters stating I didn't have scabbies when I did in fact.Good luck to you all, and please there is no other way to get rid of them if they are scabbies, don't listen to all these people, but clean you must, vacuum your heart out, and wear your clothes only once, then wash, wash your bed clothes daily until this is over...I had to do it for nine months!! I was in misery..I'm so happy now...let me know how you fair...
