-Aaron-this woman may have more questions. Can you talk to her if she posts back? I have to run, and I can't post back for at least 11 or 12 hours.

reliable source I know how hard this can be, I can relate I have 3kids and a hubby. I thought the same thing great right before christmas.I was told at the end of november. I read the stuff on here to and it scared me too. Jeannie is right people beat this all the time. My son had it worse the rest of us just had a few rashes. It is important that every person is treated that lives in the house as well as the house mainly beds cloths towels ect. People that has a hard time with this is elderly people and also people with a weak immune system. It can take weeks to start showing signs. Jeannie and Aaron are the people to listen to they are well educated on this and they have tought me alot but I am still learning. GOOD LUCK

In all due respect (I didn't graduate from medical school), your dermatologist is an outright IDIOT, like so many others. Maybe they get into the field because it seems easier. We were just at a vet's today and he mentioned a parasitologist professor at his vet university. Bet there isn't a single parasitologist at any medical school on this continent. If you happen to be human, you'd better have access to the internet because your people doctor won't care one iota that we are working ourselves to exhaustion, using their useless medications to no avail, and we let them assume that we are stupid, or dirty, or crazy, or promiscuous.
Sit and sleep on plastic or garbage bags, stay away from hugging - including hubby, buy some garden sulphur from a garden centre if you can find one open, and mix it with vaseline or oil and apply it everywhere. Don't make the mistake so many of us made because of the 1950's information spewing out of the mouths of our doctore - don't be ashamed, tell others the hell you are going through so they understand why you're behaving a little differently. Of course you may have to keep it under wraps at work in order to save your job. Just remember that very soon, you'll know 100 times more than your doctor, and it's likely not your fault that you are suffering with this.
With all this, try and keep focused on the war at hand. What's important will become very clear and what can be set aside for now to make this easier, will be obvious. In the meantime, there are lots of people who understand and care, and yes getting better or cured. Blessings this Christmas.

Hi Group.

I wanted to let everyone know that I have been using the Head and Shoulders in the blue bottle for a couple of years now. It contains 1% selenium sulfide, which is a form of sulphur. This helps my scalp tremendously. I also use it full body. The cost is about $5.00, and I get it at Walmart.

Well, yesterday, I finally found a generic form of this Shampoo, the Walmart generic brand, called Equate, Maximum Strength, Medicated Dandruff Shampoo, in the blue bottle. It also contains 1% Selenium Sulfide, but it also contains menthol, which the Head and Shoulders doesn't contain. And, the kicker is, is that it only costs about $3.75, which is really inexpensive for a medicated shampoo.

So, I suggest picking this up and giving it a try. You can use it full body, too. Don't use it everyday, though.

Hope this helps.

You might want to get in touch with the doctor again and insist on something else that will help you get rid of them on your face and scalp. Please don't leave it - they multiply quickly.

It seems the overall consensus is that doctors nowadays have vastly outdated knowledge when it comes to our lovely little mites. However, I wanted to clarify one thing before I wage all-out war on my microscopic enemies:
I have been told by every doctor that I have seen, nurses, friends, and every website on scabies I've visited that, due to acidity levels on the face and scalp, scabies just don't like it and won't take root there.
What are your experiences with this? Have you had burrows/bumps/other symptoms on these areas? Do you treat your face and scalp with the same products as the rest of your body if you do treat them? Have you been cured without treating your face and scalp?
I have gotten them on my face and scalp - I must have a weak immune system

So, i was diagnosed with scabies yesterday, and was prescribed the Permethrin cream 5%...i am TOTALLY freaked out by these bugs, and I am literally COVERED with the rash and itching. My entire torso, back, neck, both arms, and most of my face is broken out in the rash. My torso/back does not have one inch of clear skin. I am just wondering if this is similar to everyone elses' experience, or does it seem extreme? I did the Premethrin cream treatment last night, but after reading this forum, was not expecting to be done itching by today. Should I do another treatment or wait a week to see if anything clears up? I also washed all bedding/clothes in hot water and ran them through the hot dryer. I am just trying to figure out if i should start looking for additional treatments because I am really worried about this not going away :(

Why are you even in this forum? Who craves attention in a forum about scabies? For your information, my skin tends to be very sensitive, and I am sure it is of no meaning to you when I say that I am not in any way, shape or form, exaggerating. This is something j have never experienced, and after about 2minutes in the doctors office, the doctor said, "you have scabies, I'm going to prescribe premerthin cream and a pill for the itching." I wrote in this forum for help and information; not to be patronized by someone who has no input of any consequence. If you do not have any meaningful suggestions, it would be nice if you wouldn't respond. Maybe the person who spends time in a forum about scabies being rude to people who are actually looking for help is the one who is looking for attention??

Anyways, if anyone has any helpful ideas and suggestions pertaining to my previous post, please share!

the new shampoo is weird. the color is dark green and it looks like slime. but it has menthol in it, so that's different, makes your skin cool. i don't know whether i like it or not, yet. I like the price. i saw that head and shoulders has some other new shampoos out there with eucalyptus in it. so, they are expanding their products.

BenG. you seem as pissed as I am. Can't tell (but I'm getting better which posts are troll-based and which ones are real). I noticed Armed is answering most all of them, real or not.

okay,
Mercy!!!
