I see that the trolls have been out in force since I've been gone! The best thing to do is ignore them. I went to my derm yesterday. I told him this is the same thing I had when we had the cats that had mange. He told me that mange mites don't get on people! He gave me an RX for steroid cream and told me I have dermatitis. I know this awful crawling and itching is NOT dermatitis! The perm cream is the only thing that has ever helped to dry up these rashes I get. Has anyone ever used this steroid cream? Will it just hide the symptoms until I get so bad I have a really bad breakout? He told me to use lotion all over my body. I've done that before many times and it doesn't work. The rashes just keep coming back. I'm supposed to call the derm in two weeks to let him know how my rashes are doing. I'm afraid that the steroid cream will just treat the symptoms and not cure this! I'm praying for you guys that you all will get better. Keep this thread going, don't let the trolls run you off. We need each other!
ItchyKay,

As one sister sufferer of 4 1/2 yrs. now {but just as of the last 50 days or so now a very thrilled and optomistic user of Eprinex/CitaSolv/alcohol mixture topical and Eprinex oral with AMAZING AND SO POSITIVE RESULTS!!!!!} my heart goes out to you. By the time I ended up in the hospital 2 yrs. ago suffering with severe skin inflammation and infection {couldn't walk for4 days!--terriying} called Cellulitis caused by Scabies{Noregian or Crusted type....the worsttype} HAD BEEN SEEN BY 9-YES NINE!!-DERMATOLOGISTS. They sometimes kept rashes a bit less painful and inflammed, but never really cured anything, of course.
It seems that "cure" has come of late in the new w/Eprinex treatment{still early , but I have hope for first time; such good results!}

Like you, the ignorant and mis-informed fools diagnosed"dermatitis " and "allergic dermatitis" and oneproscribed steroids both topically{another dermatologis said this was the worst thing to put on the rashes} and orally. My first hospitalization from Scabies came form this oral steroid medicine........I threw up projectile voit.........just awful .

As with numerous other posters on this forum, I was a victim of immense ignorance and arrogance on the part of of dermatology. As I say, they did provide some well-appreciated-at-the-desper ate time relief with creams and ointments....but NEVER the neededed proper diagnosis and cure.

Be careful and PLEASE PLEASE STUDY AND RESEARCH PROPERLY THE INVALUABLE EXCHANGES ON THE THREAD CALLED "EPRINEX & DMSO".

Thank you Itchykay. I like reading everyone's experiences. I feel like I'm not alone.
It sounds like your derm, doesn't know much about scabies. What are you going to do? Do you think you might have a different kind of mite? Not scabies? Good luck on your treatment.
I think that may be the issue here. It seemed like he was looking for human scabies and I don't think thats what I'm dealing with. The only mite these doctors know about is the human kind.

Thank you for answering my questions about the steroid cream. I just wanted to talk to someone else who has used it. Don't worry about me getting worse. I'm not going to let that happen. I've got lots of iver and Martins. I completely cured it for three months back in June with cattle perm so I don't think this is dermatitis. The steroid cream is healing my rashes. I'm just waiting to see if I have any new breakouts. I'm supposed to call him back after using the steroid cream for two weeks, so we'll see what he says if I tell him I've had new rashes. I'll let you guys know what happens. The waiting is the hardest.

Hi Itchykay is the cream helping? Do you think it could be that you don't have scabies anymore? Oh the joy that would be.
Misery in AU and Needpeace are you still around? How are you feeling? I hope you both are cured. If so please tell us how you did it. I'm soo depressed I just hope there are some people getting better.

I live in Mass and as many of you have seen online or watched the news things have been stressful to say the least. I love that Misery AU started this thread to help individuals vent, rant, cry and get help. I've said this before it sucks that so many people have ruined this thread, being mean and disrespectful. I just pray that everyone is getting relief and that we are good to one another.

Hey there! I started Moxidectin yesterday... and just like when I took iver, today I broke out in a couple of places as if it was a new infection. Since my initial infection, I've kept the rashes down with various topicals, but every time I do an internal treatment, they surface like crazy. I do think that these outbreaks are deep infections and not reinfection from my environment.

Currently I'm doing the following internals:
Moxi (I'll do once a week)
Daily:
Neem
Olive
Oregano
Garlic
Pau d'arco
Cumanda
Banderol
Samento
Various wormwoods - including Artemisinin
Quassia Amara
MSM
Black Walnut
plus all the regular vitamins and pro-biotics.

If there are any parasites of any kind in my body at the end of this I'll be shocked.

I've using a variety of topicals... I find I can't use oils all the time, but I do love the smell of Repair the Bare http://www.repairthebare.com/ and I get compliments every time I wear it outside! I've also been mixing my own coconut, clove, neem, orange, etc oil

For the non-oil topical I find mixing Benzyl Benzoate with other things really works well - NutriBiotic first aid spray with GSE is good, I also use topical Quassia Amara tea, which I think has a very quick knockdown.

I think the problem that I have in getting rid of these beasts is that my immune system did not recognize the threat (I have an underlying auto-immune issue - nothing life threatening, just annoying). Because of this lack of resistance, it allowed them to go deep and take hold. I had a badly crusted area on my scalp, which I knew was a nest, covered in a hard keratosis. I was taking prescription iver and it just wasn't going away. I did something to get rid of it that I *don"t* recommend, so I'm not going to detail it here, but it's starting to heal now and I think that now it's gone I have the opportunity to actually eradicate these unwelcome visitors.

Once I stop getting new bites, then I can do the long rebuilding of my immune system so I'm not as susceptible to invaders.

Hope your battle is going well and your skin is quiet!

Hi THG, how can you use clove and neem outside. I used it twice outside and people always say "what's that smell" ugh not fun! It crazy but a lot of people I have spoken have told me that they have auto immune system issues. Like people with herpes on the lip.
My skin looks good. Actually yesterday I saw a cluster of 3 pimples on my neck. First time in a long time...not sure if they are bites. I'm using Shea butter and all my scars are going away. The scalp crawling is still a problem. The procedure you did, did it help to stop the crawling? At least you have a plan that's awesome! I to have been taking Quassia Amara. I drink it and I put it on my scalp. I did bathe it once. I also take olive leaf, garlic pills, and multi vit. Good luck!!

Hi, Needpeace, good to hear from you! You are a voice of sanity on this thread. We are all behind you guys in Mass. and all the great Boston people. Here in the Detroit area, we have had our share of wild-eyed loonies and school shootings and such, but no terror-type bombings yet, thank God. Maybe it's bad luck to talk about it--that's all poor old long-suffering Detroit would need to finish it off once and for all, after all we've gone through in the last decade or so.

Sorry to get off the track. Anyway, I'm glad you're feeling better. What is Quassia Amara?

I am feeling better most days, too, and I really hope my in-skin bugs are gone and their rotten little eggs, too (knock on wood). But the day before yesterday, I got another bite on my arm from using a box at work that I put some things in to take home. I guess the box wasn't so empty after all. I haven't been bitten at home for the longest time, but just from work. I know my boss still refuses to see a doctor because he says he's too busy and doesn't think he needs to, so my co-workers all run the risk of getting it, and I run the risk of being reinfected.

But, anyway, I still sometimes have that weird tingling area on my back, but no bumps or real itching there, just when my clothing presses too hard on certain spots and irritates it. After I got bit again, I got so paranoid that I took iver horsepaste that night, and even got up enough nerve to put some of that lindane 1% shampoo on the bite (along with some perm cream, too) that I have been afraid to put all over myself. The bite is nothing more than a little scab now. Probably overkill for the bug, but one can't be too vigilant, can one?

Enough venting for me. It was good to read your posts. I try not to visit this forum too much because it sometimes ends up scaring me or depressing me, but I'm always hoping that someday, I'll suddenly read on it that someone has organized a big scientific/medical study or foundation devoted to eliminating these nasty things. That would be so great, wouldn't it? But I really do think it would take some doctors actually suffering from it themselves, then we would see them take some real action--maybe they would take us more seriously in the future. But even though it would teach them a lesson, I still wouldn't wish it off on anyone...except for some terrorists we've heard about lately. Hang in there, Needpeace, and take care of yourself.

WOW. This is what this thread was made for, to vent. Screw the jerks who want to judge what anyone writes about how the feel or what they are doing. This is a support thread not how to kill scabie in 3 seconds.
Thank you so much. We have recieved a lot of support even from the Yankees lol. I hope the people in Dertriot never have to deal with what we had to this week. I'm great full for all the law enforcements hard work this week. Everyone kept saying it felt unreal like we were in a diehard movie. I grew up on the street where one if the guys lived and I have friends who's kids went to HS with the youngest boy. It's scary to think someone who was in your home was capable of something like this. The world is a mess. Poor people in Texas with the earthquake, ugh!! So hard to live life plus trying to kill this mite!
Quassia Amara is a a tree. My husband told me about it when I first freaked out that the scabies did not go away after I took my docs advice....it's a tree that never has bugs on it because its soo bitter. In Jamaica they drink tea made out of it about 2 to 1x a month so that they can kill or prevent parasites. It taste disgusting! I don't care though, I'll drink it if it means killing what ever I have! I guess in Europe, some people bath in it. I also read that people use it kill lice. Yesterday I boiled some tea and left in a container I hope the tea gets nice and strong. I wash my face with it. I'm going to buy a spray bottle and spray my body. It doesn't smell as bad as clove which is good :-) still not a great smell, but better lol.
That sucks about your boss! That makes it soo much harder on you. Sometimes I feel like when I'm at work that's when I'm being attacked. Especially my hands. I spray the keyboard with alcohol before and after work. Hey I don't blame you for over treating, it's better then under treating.
The forum is great to get tips and learn about things that worked for people, but then you have jerks that make this place unbearable. Some of the stories make you soo depressed. I learn not to believe all of them any more. There's a woman who posts on here. I read her post on another forum. Her story was sooo scary to me. It was the 1st time I had read about scabies. She wrote about how she has herpes on the lip and that she had crusted scabies and how she was dying. The story was intense. I read it and I got soo sad. She had her email on the page so, I decided to email see if she was ok. She emails me back saying that oh the scabies wasn't that bad that all she needed was the perm treatment 2x 7days apart and she was healed!! I was like wtf!! If you read her story you wouldn't believe it was the same person but it was. So you need to take what people say lightly. Even with Morgs. I speak to a few people who have Lyme/Morgs and are involved in Morgs research and they tell me all the time, not to read the stuff on line that most of it is BS. It sucks that people are soo evil that they make up stories to frighten people. I know there are many people who are suffering and when they read some of these stories they lose faith. I know I did for a long time. I hope you have a healthy and bite free week. Don't worry about the fools that want to judge your comments. Keep writing it helps those who are suffering and I know it's a good outlet for you.

Hi I think I have mange mites. I have been suffering for a year. I was misdiagnosed for many months. Like most people here I found out what I had on line. Though I have gone from thinking I had scabies, bird mites, to now mange...I never seen a burrow. I have separated myself from everyone I love. I don't want them to catch this. I miss them soo much. I get so depressed all I do is lay in bed. I would love to connect with anyone who's going through this. I can send you my email.

Hi everyone I am back after a couple of months. I remained in touch with a very supportive poster from this thread. Nothing of any significance to report, only that most of the bird mites are gone, due to cleaning my environment daily and treating fastidiously. I wish I had the answers, I really do. Would estimate 75% to 90% eradicated and the last lot digging deeper and definitely showing signs of being perm-resistant. Off to the pharmacy right now to buy some benzyl benzoate, more perm and more surgical spirit. The spirit doesn’t kill them but knocks them out for a while. Also tried neat Listerine after showering, as well as Selsun Gold shampoo and anti-bac dish-wash liquid. Antibiotics are a huge help- they kill the bacteria which the mites help generate from their own infestation. Best in my case was Amoxycillin and vibramycin. Keep up the good fight and will speak soon, hugs to all xx

Today I set out with two aims-

(1): to stop being so scared of defeat and go back to the boards.

Also (2): to buy as many other chemicals as i hadn't bought before and try them all. its malathion....

malathion is the cure for my bird mites

just put some 50% MALATHION FOR PLANTS solution on my scalp tonight- lots of dead mites. It REVEALED the burrows and KILLED the mites.... not a cure yet but this is it for sure.

ITS CALLED AMGROW MALATHION INSECTICIDE... would you believe for the control of freaking aphids and... and... and... wait for it... THRIPS... a suspected mite infestation which has been mentioned countless times on these boards. May not be thrips exactly, but whatever they are they are dying in droves right now!!

Please note that the method of applcation was USED VERY SPARINGLY and NOT liberal or random. I specifically spot-treated affected areas of scalp, back, arms and neck, by dipping a cotton-wool bud in the tinest amount possible of the solution and just dabbing it onto affected areas. Thats how effective it was but it must be used incredibly carefully esp at this strength.
