Any ideas on a safe, effective way to get these things out of the eyes? I think they migrated from my scalp to my eyes. It wasn't too hard getting them out of my eyebrows with iodine, but the eyes are problematic. I can actually feel them biting my eyeballs and crawling out of the corners.

they are speaking of this problem on the yahoo group called birdmitesorg right now.

Rohto V Ice eye drops (any drugstore) will help to clear your eyes out.
It burns my eyes when it goes in. I usually rub it around the whole eye
socket and eye brows. Very helpful and safe. I often slipped a little
in my ears when they were bad. For my nose I use a neti pot with sea
salt in it once or twice a day. I put a drop of Lugols (iodine) in it
every other day. A qtip with H202 on it helps the interior too. Vicks
nasal spray also helps. I use vaseline around my eyes, ears and nose at
bedtime to help keep them out, some used vicks. Like M said, try to get
your scalp under control, it will help you get you face under control.
I have been using lemon or lime concentrate 50% to water on my scalp
before I shower. I leave it on about 10 minutes and it does burn a
little. Has been helping alot. Hope my hair doesn't fall out...lol

Yes, there are several people on that group who were cured. They do not all have bird mites. Most of us don't really know what we have... rodent mites, sarcoptic mites, bird mites, morgellons.... there are thousands of species of mites out there. it's a lot of work when you have bird mites. an environmental problem, along with your body being infested, etc.

You think there is really morgellons out there?? I wonder if people are making that up.

I saw plenty of threads with my pocket scope, but also saw a mite that I picked up on a sticky I think you'll see about l,000 threads for every mite. Therefore, people blame the threads which are the so called cause of Morgellons. Because they don't see a mite. Even vets don't see many mites. Just the evidence of them, crusts and hair loss, and big lymph glands, tons of dander and itching without fleas. And sometimes when the owners present their own bumps, then they make the connection.

No, they aren't making it up. Like I said, there are different types of critters out there. Some make cacoons, which do have fibers. It's not cut and dry. Some people have several different type of parasites on/in their body, which makes it very difficult to diagnose. Yes, in those fiber cocoons, there are mites. My vet had no problem diagnosing my cat with sarcoptic mites. Also, everyone is different, with different immunity. Some people develop lesions and others do not.

When I had scabies it was the most horrible thing , I felt uncomfortable around everyone and thought it would never end, there is a quick way to end your breakout safely. Permethrin does not work folks if you have had scabies for a couple weeks and it is dangerous.

As a wholesaler of personal and outdoor pesticides, I frequently deal with livestock farmers and animal caregivers who have developed personal parasite problems as a result of handling animals. My heart goes out to each and every one of them. Please read my articles at WholesalePesticides.com . The fellow who warned readers about peremethrin is absolutely right. I would also like to caution you against Lindane, a chemical found in many lice treatments. This chemical has been banned for use with animals, yet it's still available in over the counter lice treatments that we use on children. For micro tiny parasites that infest the skin and hair, cedar oil is the way to go.(Not aroma therapy grade cedar oil. It's a completely different product. Use cedar oil formulations designed for pets. Ours is endorsed by Animal Wellness Magazine.) For the treatment of eyes, Rohto V Ice eye drops have worked wonders for many of my customers. Find more information at WholesalePesticides.com . Also, please read the article about collembola (springtails.) Many times, when mites are suspected, the offending creature ends up being an ectoparasite. It was previously thought that springtails couldn't infest human hair and skin; however, mounting scientific evidence is forcing many professionals to reform their opinion. God bless, and remember to wash your clothing and bedding in Borax. Don't let anyone sell you expensive additives for laundry.

I just started having this problem a couple of weeks ago and now I'm ready to commit suicide. At first I thought it was fruit flies but now I don't know. The interesting thing is that from a family of five, I'm the only one having this problem. I have yet to see anything, even when I shower. I also feel them when I'm away from home but not as much as I do when I'm home. They seem to attack my eyes, nose, and ears most often but the also land on my legs and arms. Again, I haven't seen anything but there is not doubt that I'm being attacked by something.

Please help before I lose my mind!!!

Thanks

This is my 1st time posting in this forum. I found it while doing a search for my problem. I'm not sure what the icons mean but I am a real person, I am not spamming and I am not nuts, I'm just trying to get some help. This is the 1st time this has ever happened to me and I don't know what I should be looking for. I am African American so the fine hairs on my arms are dark so seeing something as tiny as a mite might be more of a challenge for me. I am just trying to get some help and relief.

What are you talking about? Boric acid is NOT cut glass. It's a combo of naturally occurring elements. Don't give advice unless you know what you're talking about please. Read here: http://www.natbat.com/What%20Is%20Boric%20Aci...

"How is Boric Acid Used Today?
The more that is learned about the beneficial properties of boric acid, the more it is being used in a wide
range of consumer and industrial products. Here are some common examples:

Pharmaceuticals and Cosmetics: boric acid is a mild antiseptic as well as a mild acid that inhibits
the growth of microorganisms on the external surfaces of the body. It is commonly used in
contact lens solutions, eye disinfectants, vaginal remedies, baby powder, anti-aging
preparations and similar external applications."

My Mom and my grandma combined have been boiling down boric acid for use in the eyes since long before you were born. It's safe to use very sparingly and in moderation.

Do you know how they prepared it and how they used it?

I too have these disgusting parasites in my eyes. Went to a top ophthalmologist and it was a waste of time. I did my best to explain the severity of the situation, but he didn't get it. As true of every doctor I saw when these mites were in my face. And once again I am on my own to cure this problem. So I'm going to try these suggestions. When I tried Vaseline around my nose and eyes it didn't work for me. I'm once again desperate and will put iodine in my saline spray. I was given restasis for dry eyes.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Right after I cleared my face of the little monsters they fell in my eyes two months ago. And then a new set of problems. Someone posted a blog regarding ivermectin. My doctor had given me a few tabs for my face and it didn't work. Anyway I thought I'd try it for my eyes. You can buy it at any farm store. It measures 1cc per 100 lbs. I did one dose yesterday. I could tell a difference within hours. I had tried everything I read about already. Usually it's a daily ritual of boric acid, etc. Today is a miracle. No runny eyes and the other issues that accompany this problem. I was out in the cold too and no problem. It's as if they dried up. I'm so happy I wanted to share it. I pray it stays this way and feel it will. Good luck.
