I am trying the Advantix II treatment and wanted to know if anyone has tried mixing it with Rid lice shampoo which contains 4% piperonyl butoxide (known to boost the effects of permethrin). If you tried this, PLEASE let me know what the results were. A scientist did some research on this and received good results from the combination of the two medicines. One of my main problems is that the scabies went above my neck and are on my scalp. No matter what I try I can't seem to penetrate the scalp enough to get rid of them. I also wonder if I should buy the PB and add it directly to the Advantix so there are no other chemicals mixed into it. I would appreciate anyone's feedback on how to get rid of this on my scalp BUT please be realistic with the approaches you recommend. Some people on this forum have crazy ideas!

If you figure it out, please let me know. I also have scabies in my scalp and in my ears. I don't care what normal is, obviously I am not normal. I go back to the dermatologist tomorrow for a skin biopsy. I have tried 3 rounds of permethrin and 2 ivermectin. I noticed 3 new spots that popped up 4 days after the last treatment and now my legs are itching. The bumps in my head are just ridiculous itchy. I'm tired of cleaning and doing laundry from sun up to sun down. I'm tired of sitting on a mesh lawn chair. I wonder what life would be like if you only followed the CDC website.........

I feel your pain. I have been dealing with this for 7 months but it feels like an eternity. Right now I'm doing the Advantix II treatment + did mix the RID shampoo with it for my scalp. Unfortunately, I still feel movement in my hair and this morning noticed 2 new spots behind my ears. This is very discouraging but maybe I'm not giving the treatment enough time. I'll keep you posted.

Besides the itching on your head do you feel like the mites are crawling on different areas on the scalp...that is what mine feel like. Also, the tip of my nose itches a lot especially when I try to sleep and I get an occasional burning sensation on my back. Still in the process of doing the Advantix II treatment.

MiserableinOhio So what did your dermatologist say? I'm doing another Advantix II treatment tonight with 1 tsp of RID shampoo with the PBO in it. It did clear my skin but the peculiar thing is I still feel lots of crawling and have the same burning sensations on my skin that I had before I started the treatment. I also noticed when I applied the Advantix on my hands tiny black specks the size of black pepper was on my palms. This happened a few times but I think it may be the next generation of mites that are being killed off. I'm not sure but I find this very alarming. I'm also feeling a bit nauseous today...not sure if this is from the meds or just having a sleepless night.

I just posted an update. I don't have scabies and apparently never did. I have perforating folliculitis.
Please go see a dermatologist for a biopsy. I wish I would have started out with the derm instead of an urgent care.
Good Luck!

It takes the mites less than 2-weeks to burrow deep enough in your skin to be unaffected by topicals. You really should be taking oral ivermectin and using Freedom 45 Spot-on (more than half as expensive as Advantix 2 Blue). And you must rub it over your entire body and leave on for 8-14 hours each time.

If you have been suffering longer than three (3) months then you should be on the Albendazole (Valbazen) protocol as outlined on the Scabies Topix forum. I was cured by it.

Albendazole is dangerous to your bone marrow. Why trade off one problem only to have another more serious health problem. You have been cured...good for you! I notice you go on many of the forums here...quite interesting for someone who is already cured. Time to move on eh...

Scabies on scalp? I didn't have lasting success until I shaved my hair to half an inch and then did 4 nights in a row of 5% Perm and did human Iver on days 1,2,7,8 & 15. That likely killed them but got another 5 doses of Iver from the Infectious Disease doctor to be sure. And yes I'm a guy, so I understand that shaving the head could be a deal breaker for many women.

I plan on moving on as soon as all the misinformation about the Valbazen protocol is corrected. You are right, I really don't need this.

Did the heat in Texas help you at all?

Ok, I'm on day 10 using the Advantix II treatment. It helps in certain areas but I have noticed they come back in different areas. I think this is because I have a good infestation after 7 going on 8 months. My problem is the scalp area. Nothing seems strong enough to penetrate the scalp. Has anyone else had some luck in treating this area? And if so, what did you use...please be specific. Ugh....its much harder to get rid of this when it goes above your neck.

I have used Advantix II for a full 2 weeks now and can honestly say that it's just a band-aid and not a cure. Some areas got cleared while other areas became infested. It didn't kill them in my scalp either. It seems like that is the hardest area to get rid of them aside from the genital area. All in all I would not recommend using this product it's expensive and a BIG disappointment. Again, different things work for everyone and there are a lot of factor to consider i.e., age, immune system and how long you have been infected.

Uhh NO- if she was working for big pharma don't you think she would be telling everyone to rush to their doctor to get the HUMAN version of albendazole, named Albenza in pill form- not something intended for cattle/goats/pigs etc that you take without being under the care of a dr. She's trying to help those of us who have had these things for more than a couple of months and who have been failed by their drs. She is still here telling people about it because she CARES unlike many of the ones in these threads that keep saying "use perm cream, it works!" or "Ivermectin is the only cure!" I used iver for 3 months at almost twice the weight based dose- it didn't cure me. I went thru 10 tubes of perm cream along with my son and it didn't cure either of us.

Albenza or Albendazole in tablet form "for humans" does not absorb in the body as well as the liquid form "for animals called Valbazen which is exactly the same thing. Most doctors will not prescribe Albenza because they aren't familiar with it. And they have to have test results that merit a prescription in most cases. Very few doctors have training in parasitology.

No, I am not selling anything. I am giving very helpful advice to people who are suffering and in need of a cure. This isn't my protocol. Someone else posted it. But it's cured me and many others.

The parasites are attacking your immune system. Advantix 2 Blue is 45% Permethrin, the cheaper version is Freedom 45 Spot On. If you've had parasites longer than three months you will need to take oral ivermectin and rub on 45% Permethrin from the top of your head to the soles of your feet and leave on for 8-14 hours. If after a month on ivermectin and perm you are not cured get on the Valbazen with Doxycycline protocol.
