Is it scabies again, if so...?

Back at the start of December I got a really bad case of scabies. Started with the itch, especially bad at night, & not long after I was covered in the horrible ugly rash.

After going to the doctors, I used the prescribed cream to kill the mites. It felt like it was never going to go away, but hey presto by Christmas I was fine.

It was a bad experience for me, so I may just be paranoid but the last few nights the familiar crawling & bubbling itch has returned... there's no rash though.

Could it be scabies again? If so, will treating it now prevent the rash from forming? I heard scabies is always at it's worst when you first get it? Should I wash everything in a particular way?

Thing is, I don't see how I couldn't have contracted I again. I've had no close contact & washed everything I wore/bed sheets after I was diagnosed.

Any answers to any questions & advice are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

How many times did you do the cream?

There are permethrin resistant scabies strains out there. My scabies is permehtrin resistant. I've been dealing with this for 3 months now.

I initially did 5 applications of the cream in November, and each time it reduced the numbers, but not all were killed. It took me a going to 3 dermatologists to convince them that perm resistance scabies exists, I still had a low level of infestation, and I begged for Stomectol (iver) pill.

So now I have done 3 doses of the Stomectol + perm combination, and maybe, just maybe I'm in post scabies. I just took the third dose a few days ago, so it's too soon to tell. After the second dose the new bites (that I was getting daily) and the crawling feeling has come to a halt (for the most part- I had a new 'scratch'(tracks?) appear after the 3rd dose).

Hi everyone
ok so a couple of months ago I was diagnosed with scabies. I was given the cream by my doctor. I washed all bedding, hoovered, washed clothes etc. 2 weeks later I had new bumps on my hands and started to itch again. I went to the doctor and did the treatment again then 7 days later as instructed and then again the itching died down. Now 6 weeks later I have just started to see someone and had sexual contact. Now a couple of weeks later I'm starting to itch again but not only that he has started itching too! I'm petrified to tell him and hope I haven't still got them but it doesn't look good. I have read that ppl itch weeks after bein g treated but I did have a couple of bubble like bumps on my hands. Unsure whether I still have them or whether I have just given them to my new partner. Going out of my mind and also just to top things off my hands look like they have been eaten alive as I can see new skin and my old skin where they burrowed. Please help me I don't think I have explained the symptoms pretty good but when your new partner says they've started to itch and you have been itching not alot but a bit as ppl said I would after the treatment. I have put the cream on my body 3 times and don't really want to keep doing it if I haven't got them but seriously do you ever really get rid of them! X
