Sounds like it could be bird mites.
Cedarcide is a Rip Off

Is this a plug for Cedarcide? Because if IT IS, then I just want to say Cedarcide is WAY WAY too expensive for some of us who hardly have enough money to live off of, and then we are going to give it all to Cedarcide RIP OFF? I DON'T THINK SO. There are plenty of other remedies out there to rid yourself of bird mites. Just read this forum. All the information is out there. NO ONE AND I SAY NO ONE HAS BEEN CURED BY CEDARCIDE.... I have NOT read one post for anyone who was cured from cedarcide.....

I moved into my first home and the first night I slept here, I felt something crawling all over me and biting me. The bite felt like a pin prick. I woke up with red bites on my face and other areas of my body. It's been two months now and I still feel them crawling on me and biting me. At first, I couldn't see anything, then I began to occasionally find either a very tiny white or black speck. A couple of times, when I had the speck on my finger tips, I actually "saw" it burrow into the skin in my finger, leaving a little red dot where it entered. Now I understand where the red dots all over my body are from. They've been multiplying over the past several weeks. I have them on my arms, chest, abdomen, legs and feet. These mites get into my nose, ears, eyelashes/eyelids and even my lipes and inside my mouth. I know they have gotten into my mouth because I feel the pin-prick bites on my tongue and have little bumps on the inside of my lips. I'm also embarrassed to say that they have gotten into anus and vagina as well. A couple of times, they have even crawled into the vagina as well, as I could feel them crawling up inside of me and my abdomen began contracting and spasming -- as if my body was reacting to this parasite inside of me.
I went to a dermatologist who did not do a skin scraping, but told me there was some kind of microsopic mite infestations going around. She gave me Permethrin creme. I asked her if she was going to test me to see what kind of mite it was, but she said it wasn't necessary because the Permethrin would kill whatever it was. However, she also said that the mites are becoming immuned to Permethrin. I tried it, but it did not get rid of them. They were still biting me.
I read about Cedarcide Best Yet -- nontoxic product made with cedar oil -- and ordered some along with a fogger. I have a chronic pain illness so I am unable to fog my house myself, but hopefully I can pay someone to do it. You can use the Best Yet spray on your body, your pets and everything in your house. I have been spraying it on myself and notice that they stop biting when I do. It seems to wear off after a while, though, and then they start biting again.
I too have noticed that I get bitten on the bottoms of my feet when I walk barefoot in the kitchen, bathroom, and carpeted rooms. I even get bitten on the bottom of my feet in the shower. I also get bitten on the palms of my hands and my fingers when I touch something that they are on -- like the curtains, etc.
I wish now that I had not kept the carpets when I moved into the house. Instead of getting new carpets -- which I couldn't afford -- I got Stanley Steamer to steam clean them. Live and learn.
I may end up having to go in quarantine myself to get rid of these things while I pay someone to rip out the carpets and fumigate my house. Still, Orkin or the other companies refuse to fumigate until they can determine what type of mite it is and so far they have not been able to. Of course, they did not send the samples I gave them to an entomologist, and I've read that with some of these mites, the only way you can see them is to use a very high-powered microscope, take a digital image of the blown up slide and then blow up the digital image on a computer using imaging software like Photoshop. No wonder nobody has been able to see these. They don't have the proper equipment to do so.
I know I'm not crazy, because my brother has been bitten at my house too when he was here visiting. He would wake up with bites around his eyes just like I do and felt itchy all the time when he was here.
Scabies "burrow" into the skin and are usually identified with those tell-tale burrows.

It sounds like bird mites--so go to and read up on identifying, treating them. Some of it works on scabies, too!

Also, you CAN capture samples on a lint roller to show folks! Keep one with you all the time!

We have had the same issue with our baby and i believe ive narrowed it down to a chlorine reaction.... we had some work done on our apartment involving the hot water ( maybe the hot water heaters... not sure) and the chlorine was extrmely strong for a few weeks afterwards. Strong enough to make your head hurt. We have not yet confimed this as i just came across this tonite. But we will be looking into it more. Maybe you should too.
