Sorry, clove BUD oil "exterminates" scabies according to the scientific studies--even resistant scabies--and publications document that fact.
I am among many people, including some on other health-oriented sites (a surprising number are refugees from topix who NEVER were cured here!) who finally were cured using clove bud oil as outlined in the studies AND with scrupulous sanitation practices.
I've posted information that can be googled to find one study on clove BUD oil--and there are others out there as well.
Be aware that NOTHING works if you don't persist through months of the scabies life cycle--NOTHING.
I spent months on this site looking for the cure and trying all the insane ideas people post here--and STILL was infected. My daughter lost her hair from soaking in caustic solutions, my skin ended up like leather, we both had reactions from horse paste.
Today, I'm cured! My daughter is cured! We have regained our lives--but we still keep up good sanitation practices and will for some time to come.
And yet I still see many of the same people on here, still infected, still chasing a cure that never comes--who were here a year ago.
It's really very sad.
Did you apply clove bud oil ointment to the whole body?

This article says that one of the substances is eucalyptus. I do not know if this is safe for babies. I saw another article last month that said it can be hard on babies. Don't remember where I saw that.
Before we give up on topical clove, has anyone had relief when paired with eucalyptus or an essential oil terpine?
Massaging the substance into the wet skin should be enough to enhance absorption. Remember it's a two edged sword to allow for example potentially toxic eugenol penetrate too deep. It's being used in mouse traps and has caused liver damage in trials and death of a child. Topical absorption is not less dangerous than consumption.

I had scabies for about 2 months. The scars are still fading. I had previously went through 4 tubes of Permathin cream my doctor prescribed which did nothing, then begged him for Ivermectin which he finally gave in to and gave me 5 pills - 2 on the 1st 2 days, 2 on days 7 and 8 and 1 on day 15. They helped but weren't enough as the dosage wasn't strong enough nor was that enough cycles to stop them. I had been taking baths with Clorox in the water but found the Epson salt worked a little better, along with scrubbing my skin with a brush and sulpher soap at least twice a day. Washing sheets, towels, everything worn daily. I ironed my mattress daily, vaccumed the carpet and sprayed the mattress and the carpet in my bedroom with Benzarid daily along with that spray for lice - Rid. I bought and tried Neem too. I even resorted to applying Acetone or Nail Polish Remover to my skin using round cotton pads after every bath, which also helped a little and I'm sure was not very healthy but was willing to do anything to get rid of them. All in all about $500 that I couldn't afford of trying things that worked temporarily for a few days and then they'd start multiplying again, a lot of crying, being anti-social, exhaustion, depression, etc...and the doctor thinking I'm nuts because the cream should have worked and I must be doing something wrong (not following instructions properly...) I saw the post about the clove oil and gave it a try - straight out of the bottle using round cotton pads. Within 2 weeks, I wasn't finding any new bites and my scabs/skin started healing. After everything else I tried for over 6 weeks, I can't believe the clove oil worked so quickly and so well. Thank you all for the suggestion.

A year on and clove oil seems to be thee most effective cure for scabies ...... Heres my treatment plan let it cure you in no time dont listen to doctors or follow any of there advice they are misinformed scabies is an enviromental problem it can live within your own enviroment for a long time so its simple to beat it u have to be prepared to use a preperation that has no harming effects on your health and that u can use for a max of six months to keep it away for good . Have a clove oil hot bath at least twice to three times a week .mix sulphur with aqueous cream ten percent sulphur apply after hot baths .clean clothes every day clean bed sheets regular hoover daily and wipe your surfaces down with bleach.soft toys can be bagged up for weeks.dont worry excesssively more than that although a mattrass protective cover is a good idea and hand wipes for personal items u handle frequently good luck u will be cured in no time x

I am posting this because I want to help every person that suffers from Scabies. NOBODY should have to experience this horrible disease. It destroys your body, your emotional health and your life! I always knew that WHEN I was cured, I would come back and share my experience, as you all were very helpful to me in my darkest hours.
I know that God delivered me, and I give Him ALL the glory!
BUT! There are unbelivers out there who desperately need to find a cure from this torment.
New Scabies Study
Researchers from the Queensland Institute of Medical Research (Dr. Cielo Pasay) performed a clinical study on the effectiveness of Clove Oil in killing scabies mites. It killed the mite within 15 minutes of placing it in the oil.
SO FAR, THIS IS THE ONLY ESSENTIAL OIL CLINICALLY PROVEN TO KILL SCABIES. All the previous studies on tea tree oil etc. have been proven NOT to work!
I do NOT recommend using it straight. You need to have done spot testing! IT IS VERY POTENT and can irritate or damage the skin of persons that are sensitive to it.
I used clove oil straight on my skin and it was VERY EFFECTIVE! I did, however, do extensive spot testing on my skin before I applied it straight. Clove oil paired with DE (food grade) applied to the skin every single day for a solid month! I took ivermectin (horse paste) every 2 or 3 days internally as well.
After almost a year of using every kind of poison and treatments known to man. I saw all kinds of specialists including Dermatologists and an Infectious Disease Specialist. The Infectious Disease MD practices at one of the TOP rated hospitals in the US. NOTHING worked!
Ivermectin should be taken internally (I used the horse paste), along with clove oil and DE applied externally to the skin.
Take this information and do with it as you please.
It is given as truth in its effectiveness concerning my case.
I must say that for me, MY CURE was an answer to much prayer, fasting, and leaning into God. I give Him all the credit and all the glory!
For unbelievers, Ivermectin internally, and the Clove Oil and DE externally are proven to be very effective.
ps...there is no resistance built up from clove oil (a natural substance).
Thanks so much for sharing this treatment. I will follow this but still wonder if it can be used for my 4 months old externally? What is DE?

No way! Clove oil will burn a hole in your babies skin! And in yours if you aren't careful. Clove oil is helpful in the fight against Scabies but it doesn't always cure because most topicals cannot penetrate the skin enough to get all the mites and their eggs in the burrows. Use caution with Clove oil, and do not use it on your 4 month old! It will melt the skin! Unwise!
I remembered that I've seen in other website that liquid of 6% clove oil and other base oil (like coconut, olive...) is safe for our skin, not 50% or 100% like in this forum. I will use 6% clove oil for me, but for my 4 months old, I don't know how many % is safe?

Forgot to say if you do a 1/3 or 1/4 concentration you have to put that on skin 24/7. It is the only way for a cure with this method. You can mask clove smell by adding lavender if you want. There was a time I was thinking on doing both. Clove and msm body lotion together.
Good luck keep me posted.

I got my timeline wrong. I've had the first bump just over a month and saw the clueless doctor about a week ago because the bump was so painful. He didn't tell me anything - just kept shaking his head like he thought I was a lost cause, and then he forgot to order the premethrin.

Having this scabies problem has been one of the most disturbing things that has ever happened to me. I have so much sympathy for those of you who have it much worse than I do.

The clove oil seems to be working great, but I look forward to getting the other things I ordered tomorrow. I understand I have to keep working on this for weeks to come. Good luck, everyone!

I did all that and so much more that I won't even take the time to list.
I was so exausted! I started out weighing 160 pounds and lost down to 108 lbs. I went to 6 different specialists. I did all of it. I wanted to die.
I am now well. I am so happy to have my life back. I just feel so sorry for anyone still suffering, and I want to make people understand that I am not just talking to hear the wind blow. You haven't gone to the docs? You should get a prescription from the doctors for prem 5%, you will need to treat at least 2x I would also ask for the stromectol pill. So you kill fast and hard. Be careful though family members might not show symptoms now, but might have the mite. Everyone should be treated at the same time. Clean and clean. I know how you feel. I have been dealing with this for a while. It's best to fight hard from the start! Make sure you clean the car, shoes, put plastic on the bed and only sit on one chair that's easy to clean. You will be cured!! God bless!! FYI the clove oil burns. Do be very careful and spot test. I put mine in olive oil the 1st time and the last time coconut oil. Works both ways. I'm use to the burn.

I agree with Peace, you should really get to your dr and get looked at first and try the permethrin at least. That's what stage I'm at right now had my first dose the other day and getting ready for round 2. But at least go get it looked at, and whatever you do don't give up!

so im working on about week 3 1/2 now dealing with THEM... for the most part after the first cream
treatment the big spots started to dry up and go away, but a few new little itchy spots showed up after, on my finger, i creamed them. a couple days later my chin started to get all hot, so i creamed just my chin last night. now i dunno if its just paranoia and obsessiveness kicking in but i feel even itchier in random spots all over. i took a few days off washing cuz the jist of THEM were gone, but gonna start cleaning bedding on the daily again. my question is, how long does this last!!?? and when is it safe to have sex? i dont have it nearly as bad as when i first got it, i think theyre just hanging on and im gonna apply a whole body cream maybe tomorrow or next day, i think a week is too long as well.

I would also like to thank you. I am covered in a mixture of clove, sesame, eucalyptus and a bit of peppermint(cooling, a little too cold in areas) right now. So I can't yet tell the longevity of the relief. But the itching has subsided for now. This mite has left me in an angry depression for a while now and I am so ready for relief. I tried the perm cream but it made me feel awful. I just wanted to leave a positive comment and thank you for sharing your experiences and research. I have been doing research as well an it is a long, tedious and sometimes disheartening process. So again thank you. I will try and keep you updated. OH, one question have you had any experience riding your eyelashes of these awful things. My eyes constantly itch and feel like something is crawling. Any help for my eyes?

I thank God, for I believe that He gave us everything we need, in plant form, to treat our illnesses.
When I rubbed the clove oil into my skin I thought about what people in the Bible did. They prayed and ANNOINTED THEIR SKIN WITH OIL,...and they were healed. ;)

Just to add to your regimen, I'm using oil of oregano internally and externally, along with olive leaf - three tablets at each meal. Someone suggested peroxide and borax mix which would be an effective and cheap external treatment, or salt mixed with a bit of water and glycerin from a health food store. It's a long battle for those whose skin is not up to the battle. Don't get discouraged with family members who don't understand, just keep doing what you need to do. Their skin is different from yours.

I can only tell what I have done and let you take it from there. I keep a spray bottle of Isopropyl (alcohol) handy for any number of things -- all related to cleaning up etc... So if on occasion and eyelid is itching I close eyes tight I dab a droplet onto my lid... everyone who dares follow this will have to figure how to be so very conservative in the doing of it. You can keep it from getting into the eye itself by spreading this tiny droplet across the lid letting the evaporation and of course alcohol vaporizes rapidly. IT WORKS.
