Denial is a HUGE part of this. It's almost as bad as having the bugs. I just don't understand why people are like that, but oh well.
The mites don't go away by themselves. If nothing is done they multiply. They are opportunists. I have had this a year, I'm almost over it, but I know I'm susceptible to being reinfected so I don't give up my good habits of washing everything in hot water after one use, using cedarcide, sleeping on a plastic mattress, keeping the floors clean, keeping my body clean, using sulfer cream, taking ivermectin every few days to a week, paying attention to my body.

as you all can tell, ive never been in denial, its no way embarrasing to me. if something is going on in my body im going to be honest about it, its all not very normal and healthy to have something this serious and continuant and not tell people and not do anything, i used to tell people, i do have bugs ,do youstill want me to climb in your car, they were always the ones in denial, ive always been a very picky housekeeper, my clothes washed a certain way, this had disturbed me, it made me feel tacky and dirty, i couldnt take enough baths, i look like a bag lady now who hasnt slept for years, i feel as though this has really made me respect the whole world and my life in it.

i have had scabies twice that i caught from my dog.i looked around for help and none was offered. i went to the doctor and he gave me a dip to put on me. no way i wasn't going to put poison all over my body. i did research that tok me back to 1900. salt, ordinary house salt. take a warm bath with 1 whole box of salt in the water and stirred up. lay in the water about 45 mins each day. do not sit in any seat or bed that you previously sat in recently. the scabies have to come out from under your skin to mate every three days. this takes 5 days and if you don't get reinfected by sitting where they are in 5 days it will be over with. also they have to drink blood every three days to live so if you stay off where they are they will starve to death. plus salt bathes are good for you rich people pay alot of money to take their salt baths in natural places. it is no better the salt in your tub is just as good.god bless the person that found out about salt

Does anybody have any ideas to get rid of this problem when I have 4 cats? It seems like the problem is on their chins. I have spent tons of money at the vet and the stuff is going from 1 to the next. 3 of them have it now. I had one that got so sick after an online treatment I tried w hydrogen peroxide and borax that he had to be in kitty hospital overnight with an IV due to the vomiting it caused. I am itchy at night--so I probably have it too. One vet kept
insisting it was feline acne and I think it was scabies the whole time. I have been to 3 different vets. All I want is just to get rid of this problem!!! What do I do???
My family of three has Scabies and we have a cat and a dog that kept stoping black things from there cote. They were itching and biting themselves all the time as well. So we took them to the vet and the Dr. Suggested they be put on a topical (between the shoulders) medicine called Revolution. He said it takes care of fleas and ticks as well as mites like scabie(mange)on animals. Ask your vet about Revolution. Our pets are doing better now. I hope this helps you and your pets. Which is like a family member to us. Take care, and good luck.

I am in the same boat as you! I can't believe my life has turned upside down like this. I take two baths a day. They make me feel safe when I'm in them. I to am a very clean and tidy person. I have always kept my house spotless. My family says I cleaned to much. Lol, but I'll tell you I have never cleaned as much as I do now. I'm afraid when this is over I might be OCD or something! Like you said I also feel like a bag lady! I go out with whatever I can get in my clothes bag that hasn't been contaminated and just go. Wet hair and all. That's so not me! Hopefully this will end soon!! I wish you lots of luck and prayers for this horrible night mare to end. Take care.

Well, all I can say is this is one of the worst things that can happen to a human being! Reality feels like I'm in a nightmare! When I sleep I go to a dream and enjoy my moment. That is till I wake up and realize I'm in a living nightmare again! I have always been meticulous about my clothes and my appearance. Not anymore though! I'm just glad to make it through another day of cleaning and laundry and more laundry and cleaning! Whew! I'm getting really worn out! Not to mention the break downs of the fact I have bugs under my skin! My husband and Daughter which is twelve also have them. We are doing our third run of Permathin tomorrow and staying away from the house for three to four days. I hope and pray this time works for us. We all have been taking Tea Tree with borax and peroxide and apple cider vinegar oh and Epsom salts baths for about a week in a half. They don't like it and we see dead ones in the tub but I know there still some in us though. By the way you can see a scabie in it's advanced stage! They go from egg to microscopic hatched nymph to small blackish white to a bigger blackish white. Why these bugs were created on this planet I will never know! It's like WTH! If anyone has a sure cure please let me know. We are on our last ropes here. Good luck and prayers go out to everyone suffering from these demon mites!

Hey I just got the revolution medicine and applied it to my new puppy a few days ago. I was wondering if there was anything else you did to help. My boyfriend of one year lives with me and we just got a new puppy but the pup was INFESTED with mites and welts and bumps everywhere. I was wondering how long it took for you to get rid of it? Does it really help? Should we get rid of the puppy its been a week since he's lived with us. What should we do? I have a rash on my belly and my head itches. I've been a healthy person and nothing has ever been wrong with me. I feel horrible and it makes me sick to think I could get it. Any advice?

Thank you MR AL.
Depressing answers, seems like I will never be cured then, I can't believe they still didn't make a medicine that kills them all at once.
The child doesn't have it yet I am just trying to protect him from my mites until he goes back home safe.
I don't know what the Sulfer mix is I Googled it and no results. I guess my doctor didn't give it to me b.c my scabies isn't that bad yet.
I have 2 more questions...
1) Do the mites get in the food I eat? is it possible that they get in my stomach? what happens to them when they go inside me?
2) I heard that I'd be losing my head hair, is it true?:(
I have been trying to see myself in the future with scabies, it sucks, would I get accepted in University even if they knew I have it...I guess not...What about getting a job...SO many thoughts in my mind that are killing me slowly.
Hey Nina!
I just found out i might have scabies
and the next problem for me is that I have asthma! Sulfer irritates my airways I could die from it so their may be no cure for me!
i have a rabbit, im so worried that if I do have scabies that i might pass it to him and there is absolutely no way i could put him down.
I've done alot of reasearch this is what i found:
you will be fine!
tell the people in your house that if they dont they will get scabies and if they get scabies they might get a infection! then... they will be applying cream showering with a sulfer soap and taking a antibiotic three times a day for about a month, and then tell them if they don't take action now they could be slowly killing themselves.
the baby should be fine but I recommend checking the ingredients in the soap.
you will find you and the baby will be becoming dry especially the elbows and knees. I suggest using a moisturiser, add a bit of tea tree oil into your moisturiser it will help ward them off (drives the scabie's crazy!)
Scabies can't get through clothes wear long pants and socks and long sleaves a sweater ect. you can see your friends just dont hug them or kiss them etc.
make sure you are up to date with school if you arent going. and just relax! it's not your fault if others get Scabies because they arent taking action. i think you are extremely brave and are doing a great job with the baby! keep it up!

A good number of these infections are zoonotic and transfer easily between humans and animals. These zoonotic infections include babesia, bartonella, ehrlichia , anaplasma and many others. Since many of these infections have the same symptoms as scabies many people come to this forum without ever having had mites. If you have a mite infection then it is true that these types of infections can be transferred from mites to you.
