Hi all. I had this horrible case of mites and I'm still not sure what it was but I think I've narrowed it down to fungus. They are gone now after I bought a dehumidifier, treated my hair for lice and cleaned with strong chemicals. My pets had them and thankfully after treatment they are gone. I used Revolution for the pets and had to use a larger dose on them - twice with two weeks between treatments.

I tried sulfur and all sorts of bug killers. Ugh. I've never felt more horrible than that and suffered a depression that I'm just getting through.

I feel for you all. The condition is awful enough, but the shame that comes with it is enough to make you give up the fight. Don't though. I've been able to be out in public again and not everyone has this or will give it to you. It's made me much more careful about whom I let in my home now. Also, I don't think they are gone but something about ME or the pets makes us no longer a good host. What changed? Besides the dog treatments and cleaning with chemicals - Nothing really changed much until I got the humidifier and used it a couple of weeks.... which might have also been time enough for dogs meds to kick in.One other thing is that I had quit smoking and then started up again.

FYI- I've met several nurses who have Morgellon's and one who admits it and says these can cause Lupus as she's got it. Take care of yourselves.

Jim thanks for all the great info! I've been dealing with these torturous creatures for over a year now! First it started with a birds nest in my bathroom fan that runs outside. They got into the duct work because my wonderful home builder did not put a screen over the vent on the outside of the house! I had an air duct ckeaning place come out and clean all my air ducts in my home, including that one and sprayed some mite killer in there. I had my home built almost 3 years ago and they put in these cheap windows and a sliding glass door. Well I believe my yard is infested with mites, because I'm a gardener..basically not vegetables, just lots of flower gardens and it's my hobby and passion! And EVERYTIME I come in from the outside, I have at least 30 dang mites in my hair!! They were coming I'm thru my windows until I put CRUSHED RED PEPPER around the bottem of the door jams and all the entrance doors of the house and all of the windows. This did seen to stop them from coming in thru the doors and windows! They hate the pepper obviously! I used to see many along the sliding glass door jam before and now I haven't found not even one!!
But the problem is I have two boxers and they love it outside and I have to give them a bath once a week to get these mites off of them!! And I vacum daily, sometimes twice a day! And the problem just won't go away!! I believe the people behind me have something dead I'm their back yard that is causing mites because I seem to be the only person that has an issue with them! Not my neighbors as far as I know. I've spent thousands I'd dollars trying to kill these things and their eggs by buying stuff on the internet and NOTHING HAS WORKED FOR LONG TERM! I believe it's a spider mite because they make little webbing inside my cotton clothes that are clean! Do spider mites jump on people? They did get in our car too! Where do I get these foggers? I've never seen that brand at any of our stores here in ohio. I'm super tired of living this way! Is there any way to remove them from your lawns and flower beds?? Thanks for your help! Have a great day!

I tried the wood ash overnight. I cant say that I really noticed any improvement. I only did 1 night though.
Unfortunately I ran out of wood the day after my first post and humidity climbed back over 40%. I noticed a spike in activity again. The 1st night a little more crawling and then wammo, a full moon and biting was extreme.
Glad to say that I got wood again, started burning, humidity back down to around 33%. Sharp drop off again. The biting is mostly stopped, the crawling mostly gone.
I have noticed quite a few burrow type lines that at times have a sharp itch at times. What seems to be working in helping draw the mites out,(Hopefully killing too) is hand sanitizer. I bought purell and found an off brand that had 70% alcohol content. I rub it in, rub hard, and you will feel dead skin and bits that break free/come out in that area. I have seen little black specks so I assume that is the mites. After each time I rub the area, I wipe with a rag. After multiple rubs in the same area, I toss the rag. Move on to a different site. This does seem to be helping..
I have a couple areas on my leg which look like a straight reddish purple line. Around 2 inches in length. After a couple days of rubbing that area, the reddish line has faded and barely visible line is there. Also the lines on my hands, fingers, and arms are much flatter and seem to be disappearing.
I have an area in the corner of my eye and bridge of nose that seem to be a burrow area. I am having difficulty accessing that specific area as it is so close to the eye. I have tried rubbing hand sanitizer but I get it in my eye and it burns. I don't think it is good for the eye so I will have to try to come up with another solution.
Now that I have humidity down again, I notice a huge drop in activity. I hope to be able to keep the humidity low for the next month or two and hope to kill the mites that have infested the house.
I will post again if I have success in beating that beasts.
Take care everyone.

I wanted to report back that the humidity in my house has been very low for the past couple weeks. 30% and less. I think the mites in the house have been killed off, but still struggling with the ones living one me. I have been taken msm for 2 weeks now. It has sulfur. I have been taking high doses and am hoping anything internal is being killed.(I am pretty sure they are in my mouth and definitely in my nasal). I had been experiencing less activity until last week. Biting was extreme again. I took a bath immediately, all I had on hand was mineral oil and essential oils. Poured a mixture in to a hot tub and started to soak. Lots of black specs starting floating.(I have never had this happen before or since). When I got out of the tub and I rinsed off, I still had lots of specs stuck to my body. I scrubbed again until I couldn't see any more. The activity has been much less, so hoping the population is dying off???. I have been noticing an almost popping, like muscle spasms, mostly at night, but sometimes during the day. I don't know if its mites coming out, hatching, or dying. I hope the later, since activity is much less.
For the past two weeks this has been my proto call. Epsom salt & essential oil baths 2 times a day. About every 3rd day I use mineral oil and essential oils. I have a citrus & ginger body wash by burts bees and a espsom body wash with eucylipsus & spearmint.(sorry about spelling).
Two days ago I read an old post about someone using powder armour & baking soda laundry detergent with success. I just started this,(2nd bath now), and it is drying my skin, seems to be really drying the burrows and old wounds. I think this may be working the best?? I will report back later and let you know results.
Best of luck to you all.

humidity has been under 30 in my house. The environment is much better, but I am still struggling with them on my body. The temp outside has been zero or below with windchill of -20. I have put most of my clothes outside to hopefully kill any that are lingering there. I have been taking ivermectin for the past month, which seems to have helped. I would have 3 to 4 days of I think its over, than start again.(not nearly as bad as when this 1st started). I was hoping to be able to continue taking ivermectin every 3 to4 days, but I started developing rash, so I am going to stop and hope it goes away. I guess back to the essential oils and hope to end this nightmare soon.

If anyone has any ideas to knock these suckers out once and for all would welcome input. I am close to eradicating, but not close enough to say cured. I am afraid now that I am stopping taking ivermectin, the population could ramp up again.

I am not sure if they are biting you? If they are it cannot be spider mites, because they do not bite.

Hi the best thing that kills any mites !) Sulphur - Pure Sulphur Powder and sulphur based soap tetmosol.- THe sulphur burns skin though, so its best to moisturize. Mentholated Spirits - kiils them instantly. And yes they go in your hair, so lice treatments.
