Listen folks. The reason and only reason why you are not being cured from bird mites/scabies/other mites is because you are not appropriately attacking the mite problem. Beat them is possible, but you must attack them. You must treat your whole family, pets, house, car, clothes, and personal effects, and JOB AREA at the same time. Then re-treat the house, clothes, car, JOB,family, etc.. again 5 days later. Do not allow anyone in your house till the mites and itch is gone. Quarantine your pets during this time people!

I have successfully eradicated my family's mite problem in two weeks. Also, I successfully eradicated a resistant body lice issue (obtained by working on voluntary mission) years ago by treating it the same way I did with the scabies/mite issue.

I am going to post the treatment method next...OK??? If you follow this you WILL rid yourself of these creatures.

I forgot to add the most IMPORTANT thing to remember in my post above. You are not getting cured because you are CONSTANTLY REINFECTING YOURSELF.

Part 1

Listen, read, and do exactly what I tell you. This is how you get rid of these things. Your biggest problem will be managing kids, convincing the WHOLE family WHY they MUST be treated, and time management.

Go to Tractor Supply Company in your area(google it as I typed it) or a farm store.

Buy

1. Zodiac Flea-trol Fogger.(enough for the whole house... DO NOT SKIMP!!!!)

2. Ultrashield EX Residual Horse Insecticide & Repellent Sprayer (huge bottle)

3. Gordon's Farm Dairy and Livestock Dust

4.Mineral oil (2 huge bottles)

5. Listerine and cotton pads (to apply it to yourself).

6. Rid Lice Shampoo (or generic)
7. Rid Bedding Spray (or generic)
8. Apple Cider Vinegar

9. Dishwashing liquid (optional)

10.Loofa sponges for each family member.(optional)

11. EPSOM SALT (at least 6 lbs.(espom salt kills the hell out of the mites.I just discovered this!))

Get enough of the Ultrashield, EPSOM SALT and Gordon's dust to cover you carpet, car carpet, trunk, all of you clothes, AND furniture.

Get enough Zodiac Fogger to put bombs in the WHOLE house, and possiblity one in your car, and in the trunk of the car.

Additionally, consider buying enough of everything for a second treatment 5-7 days later. If you don't have a vacuum, buy a vacuum. Also, purchase a big valuepack (50-100 count) of trash bags.

Be prepared to drop a 150 dollars on products, and another 100 on laundry service. OK???

Once you buy everything, the order in which you apply the treatment is very important - AND DO NOT SKIP or SKIMP in treatment. You are only hurting yourself and your family.

Step 1. Treat yourself and the family. First EVERY FAMILY MEMBER must do this. Lather you whole body and hair in the RID and wait per box instructions (i think 10 mins). Using the comb to scratch across your skin to dislodge the mites.

Again, follow instructions on box). After showering, do this at night BTW or when you have time...)

Now shower.

Next, mix 1/3 cup EPSOM SALT to 2 cups of warm water and mix. put this mix in a sprayer bottle. then, spray your WHOLE BODY. let the Epsom salt mix dry on you.

Now, you will need to cover your WHOLE BODY (EVERY PART) in mineral oil and sit with it on for at least 3 hours (i know some that say and have did 8 hours) The Rid and epsom salt kills the surface mites/lice, but the mineral oil smothers, brings to the surface, and kills the burrowing mites/lice.

Afterwards, shower off. Use dishwashing liquid (optional) the get the mineral off. Then, use your hand to generously apply Apple Cider to your parts and around your eyes (except mucous membranes and privates). There is something about the Apple Cider that they really don't like. When applying around your eyes. You may feel that they are jumping into your eyes. This will subside after about 5 minutes.

Last, Apply Listerine to your parts and around your eyes(except mucous membranes and privates) using the cotton pads. Scratch at the specific places on your body to help extract the offenders. There is something about the Listerine that they don't like (I think the eucalyptus) this helps cool the itch too.

con't post from above.....
----------
Daily maintenance...

Spray your body and clothes you took off with epsom salt before showers and let dry.

Use the mineral oil before showering an leave on your body for 20 minutes everyday after your initial treatment. Using a different washcloth and towel everyday. Wait to use the loofa for the last treatment after spraying your furniture, vacuuming, and spraying and bagging you clothes.

----------

Somewhere in this process you need to treat the dog(s) and cat for MANGE/mites I am not sure of this step because I have no pets, but it must be at the same time you treat your family. Use the Gordon's Dust, and some other product for the dog(s). Consult with your vet for the cats. I would use the same epsom salt mix for the pets too! the Epsom salt works because of the sulfur salt content. SULFUR KILLS MITES!!! Talk to the folks at the Tractor Supply Company about treating pets---say mange, they know how to treatment this. Also, if you feel embarrassed about the whole thing, say this all of the products are for treating manage on the dogs or some livestock that you have, and your living quarters. Mange is mites. Mange is scabies. All of the products are for treatment of mites.

BE very careful with cats. I hear permethrin is dangerous to them.

Next.... will be treating your home, car, and clothes.

with treating these things you must think logically about doing it, because you can re-infect everything pretty easy.

Once you have treated yourself, realized that you will still have them in, on, and around you. Do not get discouraged, as you will methodically kill them.

First, GENEROUSLY Spray your car (EVERY COMPONENT)with the Ultrashield Sprayer, and sprinkle the livestock dust on the floors. Spray and sprinkle the trunk too.

added.... Spray the car with the Espom Salt mix too.(At first, I did this after the initial treatment with Ultrashield and livestock dust but I found that the Espom salt was a very good daily spray. It is very good to use once in the car with the fan/ac/heat on because the mites will "kick up" after initial treatment because I think they are in the vents and vent system.)

Now, roll up the windows and go to the house to treat it.

Next give yourself 2 hours to get out of the house(and open the windows)after this treatment. Sprinkle EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING with the dust except the kitchen and bathroom. Sprinkle the carpet and furniture (generously). Sprinkle the tables, open drawers, dvd, computer, dvr, tv, ornaments, knick-knacks -Everything.

Spray your bed with the Rid Bedding Spray (because of the fine mist).---added--- use the epsom salt mix too!

Next, get the trash bags and all of you clothes that you have worn. Spray all of your worn clothes generously with the Ultrashield EX spray (this will be strong fumes, but not nauseous) and Epsom salt mix, top it off with a bit of the Gordon's livestock dust then put those clothes in the bags, and close the bags up (tie them if you can). Put them in a corner you don't walk near.

pick out clothes to wear for the next three days, but do not pick them up or put them on till use. Look to spray the clothes that you have not worn after you start to feel as if the bugs are not eating you up, then you treat the unworn clothes.

Then, Spray EVERYTHING (EVERYTHING) except important papers with the Ultrasheild EX. Go lite on tables and furniture (in between cushions), but go heavy with the the furniture (and don't spray the bed) the fumes with be to much to sleep that night if you do.(that is what the RID spray is for).

Spray the RID bedding spray in your wife/kid purses and your wallet.(don't forget everything could be infected by the mites and or their feces.

Spray the Kitchen and Bathroom with UltraSheild EX.

Now, Leave the house with windows open for a of couple hours, relax as much as you can. Come back home. Sleep.

Let the carpet, furniture, clothes ,and everything sit with the treatment for TWO DAYS.- not less.

Into day two/three keep up with the 20 mineral oil soak, wash then listerine showers (DO NOT soak in the tub till the crawling itch is gone. BTW>>> I forgot to mention in the first part.. when you do the first and each subsequent mineral oil treatment before showers, rub your body gently the find and remove any foreign particles. You should find white nit things and/or black specks.

As the days and treatment goes along, use a new towel and washcloth ( I may have mentioned this already.)

Rounding the corner, now after the house and clothes had sit, and you feel as if the mites and gone, put out the clothes that were not worn (if they were exposed to being near you of the family and spray them with the ULTRA for cleaning prep (let sit on the clothes, and in a bag for about 6-8 hours)

Now, start you clean up... Vacuum up the carpet and furniture. Wait to wipe the stuff down now, you can do this the final day after fogger bombing the house. Put/keep the the vacuum outside after use and spray it generously with the Ultra afterward.(avoid dust getting back into house.)

Finally, put on clean clothes, load all the clothes into car. Spray you bed with the Ultra before going to wash clothes at the laudromat. BTW>>>If I did'nt mention, spray you bed with the linens OFF.

AS YOU LEAVE THE HOUSE, SET-OFF ONE ZODIAC FOGGER PER EVERY TWO ROOMS IN YOUR HOUSE (varies based on house size)

Go wash your worn and exposed clothes at the Laudromat on hot water.

I used Arm and Hammer liquid. The stuff worked very, very well.

(I would wash everything you can. Anything that was touched by you, your family, or pets is NOT an option in must be washed). Warm washables put on hot, dark --- you may wash on cold but blast them in the dryer.) Wash all you linens and travel bags that you used to transport the clothes.

After you unload everything at the laudromat, spray the car in the cab and the trunk to kill any tough mites.

Finally, As you repack the clean clothes, Do not re-use trash bags that you pack the clothes in, use new bags to reload. asdasd

----------

Daily Maintenance. The perm product are pricey and is an bit dangerous insecticide. Use the 1/3 cup to 2 cups Epsom salt mix as a daily spray. Spray your Whole house like you did with the Ultrasheild EX and livestock dusk. I am adding this bit late as I discovered this solution late. I attempted to paste the epsom salt stuff in later, as it was not a part of my original post in another thread.

I must repeat... the Epsom Salt solution is a SERIOUS mite killer people. NO JOKE!!!

Spray your worn clothes and your body with the Espom Salt mix daily. You can soak in the tub now (after the initial treatment and clean up of body and your house)but only Epsom Salt baths. I strongly suggest soaking in the tub with the Espom Salt. Use 2 1/2 - 3 cup of Epsom Salt for every soak. Your body will love you for this!

Congrats!! You will feel like a champ, and I think the espom salt soak cures the post scabies itch too. I had no lingering itch/symptoms afterward.

NO problem Ben. I think I was very fortunate because I have hypersensitive skin. I can walk near a person or area and just tell if mites, no-see-ums, fleas, mosquitoes, and such are near. When everybody else is oblivious to these creatures, I am the one that instantly starts to itch or get bit. I diagnosed a family member when they picked up the body lice problem, then touched me jokingly. Needless to say, me and my GF got them too.

My mom suffered with this for two months before I diagnosed it. She thought it was mold spores. Black mold infected her house, when she starting to clean out, the mold and books were ruffled, thus activating the mites(After a little research, I found that they feed off of the mold and paper/bindings). This is why paper and books needs to be treated and/or thrown away too. Mold growth needs to be tackled.

The doctors will mis-diagnose more often than not, but I am sure you know that already.

Re: finding products in Europe. Go to any farm store, they should have similar products. The key is the Permethrin content. look for Perm in the products. 5% Perm. The fogger had perm in it too, 5%. The dust was 2.5% I think. The service reps at the livestock store told me that the livestock dust was very important for the furniture and carpet.---They even said it works better than the spray because it sits in the fibers. I will say that I sprayed very heavy. I was too scared of never eradicating it, that I couldn't afford not to.

After exhausting the permethin stuff, I discovered the Epsom salt. One day I reinfected my myself by excepting a book from mom and putting it in my trunk(mid-treatment). My body INSTANTLY started itching. I retreated my trunk, car, and myself.

Any time I walked in newly my mite free house, I instantly walked into the bathroom, removed my clothes, treated them with the Epsom salt, and then treated myself.

I conclude with this ----- BE VIGILANT!

JimJim5 - really good information and good system!
The mites I'm dealing with (birdmites I think), don't get killed off by permethrin products, but seem to die off with pyrethrum. I noticed that the horse spray product you listed does have pyrethrum in it, but the fogger and dust you mention are perm. So those with birdmites might have to experiment around a bit in finding a fogger and dust that will work for their mites.
Thanks for the detailed post.

Age and immunity have so much to do with not being able to beat this. People with previous health issues find it difficult to beat this. For example, smokers, breast cancers survivors, alchoholics, obesity, limited mobility, stress, age, depression, HIV, etc. Pet owners have a hard time with this, too.

I have a joke that I use. There was a couple in their 20's who had this. They did 2 rounds of permethrin, took a swim in the ocean, and finished it off with a swim in the pool. Cured!!!

You are awesome to give us this info. I just finished washing all the clothes could. But mine is a two steps foreward, one step back process because i get almost no cooperation from the family. I do a lot of yelling, people around here must think I'm a bitch. Did you guess I'm the only one one who is really suffering with this. But so glad to know the liquid works; thought I had to go back and exchange for powder. i am terrified to get rid of all these on my body and havwn them all got o my face. They are there now in my eyes but my nose suffers the worst;]. I havew Permethrin here and Ivermectin coming, so maybe it will be sll right.

I agree 100%. My mom is up there in age, my family assisted her with completing said steps above. Additionally, immuno depressed folks will have a difficult time because they are ideal hosts. I learn this years ago, from having older customers that I serviced as a teen when I was a server. I not know that those things that would attack my face, and never disappear until I showered were mites!!
I think I got them so easily because I have not bee active, been depressed, and immumo depressed after a job loss, and bad flu/antibiotics, and relationship stuff. But remember, you've got to try!!!!!!

I agree Jim. You have to try!! You have to get up off the computer, dust yourself off, and help yourself.... If you continue to rely on doctors and pharmacists to cure you, you will be in for an unwelcomed surprise. It all comes from within yourself. It is small steps, one day at a time, one hour at a time process. You can have all the knowledge that a well educated physician has, but it is the daily get up and go that will eventually cure you. If you lose that, your health will decline.

I recently traveled to Baltimore, MD area to my daughters to help as she was severely ill. She has 4 children and a husband. She was in the hospital at the time. While there I was asked immediately to take the one small child 4 yrs old to the doctors. The doctor took one look and told me it was scabies. After trying to help her and her family, of course, I was infested, I finally, had no choice but to return home. I have asked over and over again to Centers for Disease Control how to make sure I wouldn't infest my house upon my return, and the person who lives with me. I was given a run around. Always referred to my doctor. When I originally went to the Dr., and told them I was compromised in someones home with scabies, the doctor never touched me, lol, only perscribed treatment. Since then, I have done several treatments. My scalp continues to itch like crazy, although they say the scabies don't get in your hair. I had my hair cut, their was never any mention of having lice. Yet, I constantly feel as though their are lice in my hair. I have treated it twice with RID, going to do it again today. My question is this. Although I have read it's not possible by Centers for Disease Control, can Mites get in your nose and live. I had a cold at my daughters and shortly thereafter, I now have a nasal noise, and have great difficulty breathing through my nose. Still having other itching on my body, which I am told to keep taking Benedryl as it takes 3 weeks for the scabies to stop itching,,,lol. I am now into week 5. Have done numerous applications. I bought some Borateem to launder clothes in. Was told by the makers of Borateem that their is nothing in any of their products to work against scabies....and yet I keep reading about Borax here and it's made by the same company. Please reply..Thank you!

Scabies require 5% permethrin treatment. I think RID only contains 1%. Check out the thread called "I AM cured." I attached some posts to the end of that thread. One of the posters used many products from the feed store. Another poster used many natural topicals, etc.

We use Borax here, because it literally kills these bugs. We combine hydrogen peroxide and water with it and use it as a spray.

We use Arm and Hammer laundry detergent in our laundry, as it contains sodium carbonate. Look through the thread called Arm and Hammer. The key to laundry is the heat, 130 degrees will do it.

Keep reading through some of the threads here which you think will help you.

Do a search on this forum for ivermectin. Many people on this forum have been cured with this med, when nothing else worked.

Thanks jimjim5 for your detailed posts. I would have tried this if you had posted it August 2008 when I first got bugs.

I believe the land around where I lived was infested also. Some of the neighbors moved out in the night and left everything. My next door neighbor sprayed outside and I saw him standing in his kitchen naked from the waste up staring with the same frozen lost look I had daily. I would have treated my house with your mixture but now I realize the origin of mites came from the rooftop AC unit and I never figured that out until a year into the ordeal.

I also can catch mites and I feel mites in public places. I spent some time on a wonderful comfy hotel sofa and after a few nights I felt a few mites in the upholstery so I stopped sitting on it so I switched to a hard chair (ugh).

I do admire your instructions, I personally don't care for zodiac spray (it didn't work on a huge flea infestion for me) and rid spray is useless and expensive in my opinion (I doused two office chairs at work and it did nothing). I would use a feedstore permethrin in place of rid spray. Also, I don't think mattresses can be saved unless they are double or tripled mattress covered in vinyl and a dust or d.e. is sprinkled inside the mattress covers.

I also prefer non toxic alternatives and I know Cedarcide has those because I fogged with Best Yet and loved it. But I respect the methods you used and also respect that you made all the family comply at the same time (important and hard to do). I think the dust you used is probably a good thing but I prefer getting rid of carpets if at all possible.

Thank you again for taking the time to post!!!

Wash all your linens and put them in a bag til the evening? It is impossible with a family of six to wash everything other than bedding and maybe one load if laundry . So once washed put the pesticide in the bag? What do you recommend cleaning the floors with?
