isn't rosacea a demodex mite, that have multiplied to a high level. All of us have demodex mites. But, it is when our immunity gets compromised that this mite flourishes. Have you looked up rosacea on the net? and the treatments for it? ivermectin also kills demodex mites. I'm very sure that the 5% permethrin cream will kill your rosacea. The problem is, is that it doesn't kill the eggs, so you will have to retreat. study it on the net.

How many applications of the Elimite 5% permethrin did you apply?
The permethrin does not kill the eggs, so you will need to do another treatment in about 7 to 10 days.

Or you just may be in post scabies....

I volenteer at s homeless shelter and several weeks after my last time there I began to itch and it seemed to come on at night. I could not figure it out at first and started Googleing possible symptoms and DA DA - SCABIES! Went to the ER and was told I have a bug bite and that I should take some antibiotics and return in 2 days if it does not clear. I gave the doctor some choice words and went to another ER. There I recived a diagnosis of SCABIES! At least I am not creazy yet. I did 2 treatment with the 5% Elimite cream and was still itching aftward. Cleaned extensivly. Went to a tack shop and got Horse Health Ivermetin 1.8 paste but on the appointed day I could not bring myself to swallow the foul smelling stuff LTHOUGH i can see hoe these bugs will drive u to anytrhing to cure them. I mixed 1/2 of the tube of paste with skin cream and slathered it on head to toes (noty on face)and slept on a dropcloth on a couch. Did not have any itchiness at all last night. There is not much info about topical iIvermectin but hopefully direct application will get to th little devils. I also hope that the occasional itch then puffiness and scratch and welts etc go away as they die and that the symptoms I still was experiencing after 2 bouts of Elimite are post scabies syndrome. We will see and I will post later
and let everone know if it worked. Scabies may not kill u but you may wish for death when you are teearing your flesh up a 3 AM scrathing invisible bugs.

So far so good. Last night was completly itch free! I have a small amount of the horse paste which I will youse for the final (hopefully) knockout punch to thease pests! There is some literature on topical ivermectin and it seems to have been effective for others:

I will keep everyone posted as to my progress.

So far so good. Have (14 hr)each a week apart followed two days after last permithrin application I used homemade horse paste Ivermectrin in body loation applied topically for 12 hr last Thursday afollowed today (Monday) with De LA Cruz 10% sulpher cream cut in half with hand cream head to toe after bathing with Grissi Sulpher Soap (soap and sulpher ointment both from Wal Mart about $4.50). A few isolated itchy puffy areas but not as bad or intense as before. Body finally healing sum. Seem to get occasional bumps on side of wrist or top of feet now and then and I spot treat with whatever is handy. Cleaned regulary
although I am not a pig I am not obsessive about cleaning but I am hitting them with everything I have. Oh yea I also have done a bleach / tea tree oil combo bath twice (one a week ago and one last night). Hopefully all bugs ae dead eggs gone etc.
Will keep posing. From the nightmare stories I hear in the forums I have declared war and am not giving them a chance to reurn. Good luck to everyone

One way to test to see if a bump is a burrow is to hydrogen peroxide it. It usually turns white or partially white.

Hi I'm only going to post once. So here it is Grape Seed Oil. It's that easy. The hard areas like the webs on the hand and feet just mix it with Diatomaceous Earth into a peanut butter like paste so it stays on that area well.USE Water to make paste NOT peanut butter. I had this bad for a year and have used Permethrin, Ivermectin. I used Grapeola I got on Amazon. Just put it on your body ounce a day. Just want to thank Vann for the tip of the all powerful" Grape Seed Oil". I got carried away with thinking I had to kill the scabies with poison like DE powder but it just made it worse. Not that DE is a poison to us but it is to them. What I think is the most important thing is healthy skin. All that DE made my skin dry and no matter how poisonous it is to them they love DRY SKIN. All these poisons like Permethrin we put on are skin make our skin MORE DRY are doesn't help our skin get healthy. It ALWAYS gets worse the harder we try. By the way I did not have to go crazy cleaning every thing either. Oh, when I applied it to myself it got worse but it was doing it was not giving them any more blood to live on and I could see a white trail meaning they were dying. I feel what you ALL are going through and I just have to let you all Know I had a Real Bad case. As long as your skin is DRY they can keep living on you. Keep your skin healthy from getting dry put the Grape Seed Oil on. This is TRUE in my case. I know the suffering this causes physically and mentally. Sincerely Heidi
I put some Grape Seed Oil in one small area to make sure I wasn't allergic. My son had this real bad. And he said for me to write you all and let you know what really worked for him.

Thank god that it doesn't absorb through the skin being a neurotoxin!
Actually, a certain amount DOES get absorbed through the skin. I can taste the permethrin in my mouth after I apply it, and I certainly don't put ANY near my mouth. Also, I've noticed that I have the "shakes," very, very subtly after using it. I don't use any other drugs, and I don't drink. I only noticed the shakes because I play drums in a band, and I found that for a day or two after the permethrin, I flub or miss easy chops and rolls that I can do like clockwork, even if I was tired or half asleep.

And as for the lucky folks who are "free" of their mite infestation with just a couple doses of permethrin, hey, congratulations. You may now go somewhere else and act smug and self-rightous; there are folks here that have been infested for YEARS, and are far, far more knowledegable than you are on this subject, and if you have nothing to contribute but "eh, it's just post-scabies itch," you should find another forum to dazzle with your precious advice.

Hi
I would do a google search on permithrin 5% when pregnant before using it if you have not already done so and go to doctor. A few mothers on here have babies i dont know if they had when they were pregnant or not check out all the posts they will have plenty of info.
there is a rare skin condition that you can have when you are pregnant, i had it and i wish i could remember the name of it. ask your doctor about this skin condition. most pregnant women who end up with this condition have small pimplelike bumps that itch, but when you itch them they bleed easily, all over their bodies. luckily mine was only on my belly. good luck!

Hello! I think Permethrin 5% cream is only think what is can help you very fast! One of the brandname is "NIX" but also you have to wash everything you guys are contacted with very hot water and bleach, and also very extensive vacuming all over the house! If you have any pets,,, read them off!Permethrin 5% cream you use from the head to the toes, then in 6-7 days repeat the whole procedura! Hopefully you will be just fine, but before use on your child ask your dermatologist if you can use on your baby! Good luck!

Now my whole family and friend HAS THEM. I do not. Its been a month and a half and 3, 5% creams later. They still have the bumps but, not as itchy. I have washed and cleaned, washed and cleaned. Is my family still contagious? Can we still do our normal activities outside of the house? Is ther light at the end of tunnel(SCABIES). I will try anything that is not harmful to my family. HELP!!!!

Scabies drove me to the point of entering a hospital, to get away from my environment and/or endangering friends and others, by being near them, as I was bedridden, with an injury and could not fend for myself, at the time. My biggest fear was infecting others and after several permethrin treatments, I was convinced that I had to leave my current environment and clothing and live in an ultrasanitary environment and try the permethrin there and thank the Lord, it worked. After checking out of the hospital and moving into a new place, even after more than two weeks had gone by, somehow, there was a reoccurence of the scabies. I still don't know if this was gotten when I picked some clothing up that should have been safe, in plastic bags, from the former residence, or, even from the clothes that had been worn upon going into the hospital, which had been in plastic bags for about a month, before I opened them. Also, it is possible, although extremely unlikely, that the new residence had them, as well, for the carpet had not been cleaned for an incredibly long time and there had been a bedridden person residing there. As depressed and suicidal as I was feeling, I waged a war on these scabies, as I was no longer bedridden and vacuumed until there was no tomorrow, emptying the bag outside and threw all clothing in plastic bags after wearing them only once, sheets and pillowcases as well. I purchased more sheets and pillowcases and clothing at thrift stores and vowed not to use any clothing or bedding until it had been in plastic bags for around two months. Sometimes I succumbed to using clothing and bedding for two days and then placed them in plastic bags. Meanwhile, I did the permethrin cream, about every four days and must have done at least 4 treatments and miraculously, they seemed to be gone, once again. I still must have done another one or two treatments and just kept using new cheap clothing and bedding from thrift stores, all of this time and for a lot longer, after it appeared that the scabies were gone. That is my story. I was scared beyond belief to touch any of those clothes for months and only after washing and very hot drying, did I feel assured that all would be well. I also recommend going to commercial laundromats and using the professional, hot dryers that they have, as most home washers and dryers are not hot enough to kill scabies. I managed to survive this with a very average washer and dryer and I would not advise anyone to use the washers in the laundromat, because it might wind up infecting other people's clothing. However, the super hot dryers there, should kill whatever is in the clothing. So, a righteous act would be to use the washer at home and take the laundry to a laundromat, for the dryer. As I mentioned, with all of the vacuuming and plastic bagging and permethrin treatments and being meticulously disciplined, I was able to just use the home washer and dryer and it was the time away from human contact that killed the scabies and not the heat from the machines. The only thing that kills scabies is the permethrin cream and keeping them from human contact. There are other similar creams and oral substances that are also available. That is my story and forgive the verbosity, but, for a scabies sufferer, there are no shortcuts. One friend of mine told me that his child contracted it and it was suggested to him to also get rid of all the carpeting in the house, which he did and somehow, that situation got resolved. In fact, that was someone who I met in the hospital, ironically! There is a cure for this abominable pestilence. One has to make it as important to get rid of scabies as anything else in life and you will succeed. Don't rely on doctors, or anything else. Just proceed as I did and eventually, you will be successful. Lastly, do everything you can to not infect others.
