Complicated scabies, need help and advice please!

Hello everyone, this evening at around midnight, I couldn't get to sleep. The itching was back again, with a vengeance it seems. I got angry, I guess most of you would be after having scabies for 3 years. So I started to Google it. I have already researched home cures, non home cures, whatever, countless times, however this is the first time I see this forum.
So I suppose I'll lay out the situation.
I have had scabies for a long time. Really. At least 3 years, maybe 4. It's all quite a blur, I know that I got it in the spring the first time. Now, I have a history of skin problems, basically eczema, which I had pretty bad on the inside of my elbow, under my eyes, on the back of my knees. SO I thought it was that at first, but quickly realised it wasn't. The nasty little bumps that burst when you scratched them certainly wasn't eczema. But I didn't go to a doctor. Keep in mind I was around 14, 15 when I got it. I'm 17 now. So I didn't really know what to do. I hit it with everything I had for eczema, some body oils and lotions, bladibladibla. Finally told my parents, who also thought it was eczema. Not much help there. Found Bepanthen, which helped heal my skin(which was ravaged from the itching and scratching), but did nothing to combat the scabies itself. Finally got my parents to take me to our family doctor, who prescribed me 1% permethrin. That's the thing - it was 1%, which I now know to be not close to strong enough. Even 5% doesn't work, because, I think, the mites have built up a tolerance due to exposure to the 1% cream. Originally, it was all over my right hand. Now, it is on the inside of my wrist and a bit on my ring finger. It has been like that for a long time - nowhere else.
The very strange thing, though, is that I haven't infected anyone else, as far as I know. And the itching isn't as bad now, the bumps are much smaller, etc. But it is still there. I think that it just may be that my body has gotten used to it and stopped reacting. But I really want this gone, need this gone. I won't say it has taken over my life, but I certainly do entertain the thought about how it affects what people think of me, when they see it. I haven't told anyone, even my closest friends, that I have scabies. Too much shame, ya know? And as long as they're not infected, then...
Please help. How difficult is it to get rid of an infestation like this, that has been there for several years? Of course, I might also have the mites in other places and just not feel it... Is that possible? The only visible place is on my hand/wrist.
Thanks everyone.

I'm SO SO SO sorry Duke that you've had this all your teenage years.

You need your parents help, because this takes a lot of work like:
Washing all laundry in hot hot 160 degree water after one use. Do that for the rest of your life and use Arm and Hammer powdered laundry detergent (any grocery store $4 -$12), or at least Borax in the wash. Soak dirty clothes if you can't wash right away or plastic bag dirty clothes with a sprinkle of borax in the bag.
Double plastic bagging (walmart $11 ea) your mattress and putting a plastic garbage bag over your pillows.
Vacuuming carpets frequently (put a little 20 mule team borax, a mothball, or dog collar in the bag).
Consider ironing your clothes as a lifelong good habit and use a can of spray starch. High heat kills mites. You can also dry your clothes (and sheets, etc) in a very hot hot dryer for two hours each time (to heat sterilize) if you can. Bounce dryer sheets supposedly help.

Try to get the doctor to prescribe oral ivermectin/stromectal for you.
And buy pomado de azufre 10% sulfur cream in the Spanish labeled section near the pharmacy of walmart, kmart, cvs.

If you aren/t in the USA maybe there's a place to buy it there. The Romans used sulfur. It's premixed sulfur (jar says its for acne) and not as messy as mixing your own.

Read many older posts here (some of those people are cured and long gone). Hope you don't get too confused. The simple things work best.

Duke, I read your post mate and I want to say you are not alone :) I have scabies for 4 months I even got used to it but I really want it gone..
I tried %5 permethrin cream 4 times, It isn't solved my problem, using sulfur soap but it's not a solution either, but a caution.
Anyway I wish you luck and hope you become healthy again.

for the scabies brotherhood!
