Hi all..so I haven't read every single comment on here, but I wanted to come on and tell everyone that is in anguish from post scabies a cure I've found.
1st of all, I had scabies since November, and after 3 different (Wrong) diagnoses, I finally got rid of it...or so I thought. I still have scabs randomly, and some nights I itch so bad! I've learned the worst thing to do is put on the cream again. Don't ever do that! It makes it worse in the long run. Here's what you need:
TEA TREE OIL and EUCERINE CALMING CREAM (in the tube)
just put the tea tree oil on your individual scabs, and everytime you get out of the shower, put a couple of drops of the tea tree oil in the lotion and put it all over your skin. My Dr. said Eucerine is the best, and literally after four days my scabs were healed and I no longer itch. I still put the tea tree oil in the lotion and rub it on every night. It's been about two weeks since I started this, so I'm pretty sold on the fact that it works. Good luck healing everyone!

With post scabies do you still get the crawling sensation and pin prick biting? or is it just the itching?

I was diagnosed with scabies last week when I believe it had just started so i had caught it early..i've done the cream 3 times and plan to do ivermectin this weekend. During the time with which i didnt know i had scabies im pretty sure i gave them to my boyfriend who doesnt live withe me and i havent seen since then. So earlier this week i sent him Permethrin to treat himself just in case because he swears he doenst have it and doesnt itch..but under the circumstances of us being together..im sure at least one got on him. So I think im cured but he's coming to visit tonite and I'm not sure if thats a good idea or if we should sleep in the same bed because im paranoid and scared that i might get re-infested. If hes been treated once and doesnt itch or anything do I still need to worry??

Since you are not sure you are cured, I don't think you 2 should be sleeping together right now. Give him another treatment and you get your ivermectin and another treatment and see how it goes. Sometimes people don't show any symptoms and still have it. They call them folks asymptomatic.

I slept with 3 girls before I realized I had scabies. 2 were for maybe 3 nights the other was for probably a dozen nights. I have kept in touch with all of them and none of them have got it and it has been months. So it isn't impossible he doesn't have it. He should use it just in case though.

Scabies is a pain in the ass. First of all doctors don't like to diagnose it.. and claim it to be anything besides scabies.. as I had to see 3 doctors, even after describing my worries of scabies.. before I even got the cream.

I've applied the cream three times, and finally got rid of the buggers.. however I have post scabitic marks on my grown area, which is extremely annoying.

I've gone to see the doctor.. and got some Hydroval 0.2% cream for the marks.. but they still don;t see to be going away.. however I experiemnted with Vitamin E oil and it seemed to rid myself of the marks.. for a couple of weeks.. and now they are back again!

I haven't been sexually active with anyone since my first treatment.. and have cleaned the bed sheets and everything.

It's just a pain in the ass, not literally.

Hi No Longer Miserable, Thanks for your post. I got some of the calming cream you suggested and will try it with the TTO. Thanks for your good wishes. Hope you are doing well.

Annoyed, How are you doing now? Hope your skin is better. Let us know.

It would be nice if we could post about what helps skin return to normal on this thread.:)

Vitamin E oil is the only thing that seems to be helping my marks and scars. Opening up the capsules makes more of a differnce than just buying and applying a bottle of Vitamin E oil.

Nothing is fast enough for me.

i tried also what u sugessted and its week three on monday with no treatments....and i still have itchies, kinda diffrent tho. mostly on the back of my neck, and last week i got itchy eyes and noses....which is the first symptom when u get scabies so maybe its the last one when they go away???? not sure. also a few at a time the bumps i had got really read like infected like, so i put lindane on those spots and they go away..... so i think like u said the meds were making the same symptoms..... i also use a lotion with tea tree oil in it daily....how are u doing? thank you again for the advice progress, i would still think i had this if it wasnt for you and it was actually over a year of suffereing...

Recently I was diagnosed with Scabies, not a severe case but bad enough to cause severe rashes on my legs, wrists, and hands. My question is, if treated right, how long does it take after treatment to be non contagious? I understand that it is 4-6 weeks before, but how long after? I applied the Permethrin .5% cream and I put that stuff all over, neck to toe, about 5 days ago. It seems to be working, I read that the itching mainly comes from the feces and dead bodies of the mites afterwards. I don't feel (or see) any new burrows. The main point is I don't want anyone else to catch this. I have literally isolated myself since I found out what it was.

Also, I cannot wash some of my sheets in hot water. They are 1000 thread count. What I decided to do was sleep on a leather chair, which is easy to wash off in the morning. The reason I have not been on my bed is because I hear that the mites can only live off of the human body for 3 days max. If I simply don't touch my bed (or wash my sheets), won't these things just die naturally? It also makes me wonder about the mattress itself, i'd imagine they get down in there too right?

Hello again, I'm writing this message to help some of you who are going through the same thing I've been going through the past 2 month. I started getting the rash and crazy itch about 2 month ago. Went to my family doctor who told me I had scabies and I creamed myself with permethrin. It did not get better so I called the doctor and he told me to go to a dermatologist. She said the same thing and prescribed permethrin. Used it didn't help so I went back she looked at me again and said it's 100% scabies so I used the permethrin again. I didn't feel any better and I was very frustrated!!! Then I figured it all out....
I contacted a doctor in Germany who asked me if I have any metal in my mouth, like fillings, braces etc. I do. He said nickel or chromium allergy when severe can cause rash all over the body and can look exactly the same! I was very surprised because I've had the braces for 8 month without any problems. Anyway in the meantime my symptoms were getting worse so I decided to try to cover my braces with orthodontic wax for 5 days so the nickel could not get into my body through my saliva. Wonderful relief it was. After 5 days I decided not to put more wax on and in 24 hrs my symptoms were completely back. Yesterday I put the wax on again (I feel much better)and I'm waiting for my appointment to get the braces off.
I wanted to write down all this, because I feel sorry for everyone who has to go through month of itching and scratching I know how awful it is. Of course for many people it is scabies but for some it is something else...

So I think I have scabies, although none of the doctors I have been to have tested for it. I have used permethin cream, but I have been reinfected twice (my environment, other people - who knows). Now I am using 10% sulphur in petroleum jelly, but it the most uncomfortable thing to put on. It has also been really difficult to convince the people around me to also take topical treatment of scabies because no one else around me has yet experienced symptoms. I was wondering how people obtain ivermectin (the oral pill for scabies)??? I don't think it is easily obtained, so for those of you who got it, how did you get it??? I live in Canada, if that makes a difference in how to obtain it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I cannot access that link...
And all the doctors I've been to have said that Ivermectin is for like worms in dogs and they won't prescribe it to me. Is there any other way to get Ivermectin?

When I had scabies it was the most horrible thing , I felt uncomfortable around everyone and thought it would never end, there is a quick way to end your breakout safely. Permethrin does not work folks if you have had scabies for a couple weeks and it is dangerous.

Hi back inmid August I had a rash with intense itiching that resembled scaries. I had a rash on my wrists, around my breat nipples and underneath, around my waist and in groin area. It happened on a Friday night and over the weekned I soaked in a hot bath of epsion salt and borax mix. I used coconut oil on my body and added some apple cider vinegar in my green tea. and increased my akaline Ph level as well. The intense itching seemed to be gone with in a day or two and the little rash & the pimple red spots marks went down althoug were still visabile. On that Monday I went to a dermatioligist. She didn't see any track marks but agreed the a skin sample is not always the best because the mite can move and might not be present inthe spot were the skin sampl is done and it will be a false - negitive test. Unles you get the exact spot were the mite is it will not work correctly. She prescribed me Elimite,(which is the same as Permithine) because by the looks of it it could be scabies. I did it as did all my family members. We followed with it again a week later. ALthough the rash and intense itching was mo longer a problem I still had the little breakouts of the small pimples spots. She gave me Ivermection and i used it twice 10 days apart. Since then I used elimite again,(since I had an available RX left at drug store) However, the problem is I still feel a crawling sensation on me. I have an itch sometimes which turns red inf i scratch it but I use Neem oil and som perscription cream which was given by the doctor and it helps.(the crawling sensation does seem worse at early evening and night.) It is in the areas that I had the rash,(which are the areas the same as a scabies rash) I had gone back to my dermitoligist twice as she says I do not have scabies anymore and it's the skin healing. I went to 2 other dermitoligist who said the same thing and also gave me perscription creams that are an anti itch type of cream. All 3 said in addition use a body cream and that my skin is dry. PLEASE HELP! I'm not sure if they are wrong and still have the scabies mites or nr they are correct. What is this crawling then and why is it in the same areas as the prior rash as before.
