Sebastian,
Please go to the imidacloprid thread here in topix. The key to my cure after nine months was Advantix II for dogs over 55 pounds and ivermectin 1.87% horse paste. I know, this is rather out there. But it cured me and I thought I would have those mites forever and said what the heck and tried it. After doing all the other stuff that didn't cure me and I just kept getting sicker and sicker with the mites. Best of luck to you!!!
Hi Alexandra
I am in Canada- could you please tell me where you went to get treatment? I have been suffering for 5 months now and i have tried everything!! The mites are in my scalp and nothing I put in my hair helps for more than 6-8 hours......

Go online and order Eprinex pour on for cattle 250ml for about $50. It's suppose to be very powerful stuff. Apply it from the scalp on your head to the soles of your feet, leave on 8-14 hours then take a bleach with epsom salt bath. Many people on this forum are reporting very good results.

Ive been battling itchy skin, breakouts, and red bumps for at least 9 months. Ive been seen by 2 dermatologists(same office)I'll bet 10 times. They kept saying I was having an allergic reaction to something and gave me multiple creams. Nothing worked. Finally one said lets just make sure its not scabies and prescribed 2 doses of Stromectol two weeks ago. I seemed to get much much better and then seemed to have problems come back to a lessor degree. After reading up on scabise I told doctor I was 95% sure that is what I have and should I have a second dose of Stromectol. He said no as Stromectol I took rids them once and for all. The one consistant place I had bad itching was in/on my scalp. Doctor said it couldn't be scabise as they are never in scalp. I have just been putting on creams and stuff and seem to be getting much better waiting for winter to have allergy skin tests. Now I'm not as sure it is scabise- maybe I'm 70% sure? But, who knows.

Hi Sebastian
I hope you have worked out your problem. Do not worry, it will happen, if you have not. I wanted to die when this happened to me but you will get through it. Let me know if you need any advice
I am not Sebastian, but that is my son's name- can u help me too? I need advice- my family and I (hubby and 2 kids) have been suffering since june. I have taken ivermectin orally, permethrin, heat treated house-(we had bird mites) unsure if i have bird mites still or scabies now in addition. No bites- no burrows- no itching-but terrible pin pricks, crawling and skin burning. I have done bleach baths, borax baths, everything everyone has posted. WHAT HELPS AND HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE??? I honestly have considered suicide. Please help. Thanku.

Your doctor is a fool and about 100 years behind the times. If you even suspect scabies get a script for permethrin cream and apply from scalp to toes as well as taking stromectol. These mites can take over your life with misdiagnoses and unprofesssional doctors.

Hi I know someone that is your age that is going thru the same exact thing you are going thru ,he is my son and quite oddly he is your same exact age and has told me the same things you have told me and I feel that at times there is no hope but I keep trying everything and still he feels those mites day after day ,I have taken him to doctors and they all think he is crazy as you have said and its very frustrating because I know he isnt and I know you are NOT crazy,I have not dealt with them personally well with the exception o watching my son go from a lively college student with goals and dreams to an almost suicidal depressed man with almost no hope, well I do understand and I am sorry you are also dealing with these horrible mites.I have recently taken my son to a new doctor and they have said to him that its in his head just like the others before but this time my son came out and told the doctor that he resented the diagnosis, and that was the only reason I believe that she prescribed him the ivermectin which he just finished his course of meds 2 days ago and says now that he feels them actually biting him as opposed to just the crawling.I know this is not very helpful to you but I am at my wits end with this traumatic situation he has been dealing with for over 2 yrs now, please if you come in contact with help and if you are ever cured of this would you please send your suggestions also I will do the same, my name is Trish and my sons name is Josh please reply if you would like, thank you

i contracted scabies from this girl i had bought baby clothes from since i found out i was pregnant with my second child... i felt bad for her cause she didnt have alot of help from the father of her baby so i bought a bundle of clothes from her.. not thinking about it i took the clothes to my room with out washing them first.. a few weeks later i started getting this itchy sensation on my legs and i thought it was flea bites or something.. well eventually the itchy rash started appearing on my belly... after a month of extreme itching i went to the ER... they didnt know what it was but thought it was scabies.. but since i was pregnant they couldnt give me anything.. i then went to my primary care doctor and they didnt know what it was... they referred me back to my OBGYN then she reffered me to a dermatologist.... the dermatologist gave me permethrin cream and i treated my self with it twice and had a skin scraping that came back inconclusive.... and im still itching.. but now that my child is born i can get more treatments like the ivermectin pills that i just got from the dermatologist.. and i just took my first dose... im hoping this works cause im to the point where i want to cut all my skin off... iv had scabies for almost 6 months maybe 7 and im going crazy... my inlaws i live with are starting to itch as well but refuse to treat them selfs cause they dont think they are infested... but if i keep getting diagnosed with scabies then they are bound to have it now as well......... the one question i have is do the bleach/chlorine baths work.. and what do you do for the dry skin after the bleach baths?

If you think you have morgellons get tested for Lyme Disease. Not everyone who has Lyme disease has Morgellons, but so far it seems that everyone who has morgellons has lyme...it is believed to be a possible co-infection of lyme. However, it can be extremely difficult to get an accurate lyme test...do your research to get informed check this website out thats full of info http://www.ilads.org/ & watch Under our Skin documentary.

I have been itching severely for over 3 weeks now. I had gone to my primary care physician and she had no idea what it was. I finally made an appointment with a dermatologist and she new right away I have scabies. They started on my legs and arms and are now on my stomach and chest. Miserable. She gave me the Permethrin 5% cream (as well as treatment for my husband and daughter) and also gave me five 3 mg tablets of the Stromectol. I am doing the cream and taking the pills tonight and then repeating in 7 days. Don't waste time with other doctors - go straight to a Dermatologist!

Oh my GOD! My 4 year old son poked up these demons at a Mc Donald's play place (never again!). Anyway, I thought it wa athletes foot at first as they were on his feet only (mainly toes). Nope! My whole family got it! Both sisters, brother in law, myself (I'm pregnant and CANNOT) take stromectal or ivermectin), and of course my son. So how can THREE house holds have them?! My husband and son took the first dose this am. But there's hope!! All of our couches, mattresses, box springs, and rugs are covered in plastic. We haven't visited eachother in about a month now (after haveing it close to 7 months and diagnosed for two). My sister and bro in law are free! They washed all clothes, blankets an bedding every day in hot water and dried it all for an hr. they used bleach and water to wipe down the couches and mattresses. They lysoled and windexed everything every day, and after 6 permethrin treatments, and one stromectal they are free. Though my journey is far from over, I hope this gives some of you hope.(DONT GO IN ANY PLAY PLACES!!)

Oh!! And for stromectal 3 mg you need the right dose!! It is as follows:(your weight) divided by 2.2 will give you your weight in kilograms. Take your weight in kg and multiply by .2, then divide by 3.
So my son weighs 56 lbs:
56/2.2= 25... Then 25x .2 divided by 3 is 1.6.... So that's a dose of a pill and a half.

Hope it helps!

My story is alot like everyone elses... Dang Drs need educated on scabies.. i first went to the doctor and mine was on vacation so i got the dr covering her patient load. He said oh yea..you have scabies ( which i knew since my dogs had scarpotopic mange) but anyway yea he prescribed me the lice med. shampoo not understanding mites dont lay eggs and live on your hair they are in your skin burrowed.. so he prescribes the lotion and lice shampoo and then 3 wks later my head is alive when the lights go out and i am tortured all night long.. i go to my doctor who asks me if i am on street drugs ! Holy hell ! Right yea i go get high and then to complete the day i go to the dr to tell her i have scabies and am itching to death ..and to make it even better.i have no insurance... well i have dealt with it for over a yr.. finally yesterday after hitting every emergency room and urget care office in Oregon ! Finally a doctor prescribed Stromectol and i took my first 5 pills tolday.. I have managed to keep my body clean of the mites by using a conglomuration of tricks.. it works guys it really does.. I buy teatree oil at walmart.. neem oil at healthfood stores and mix the two in lotion and it smells terrible to everyone else but me.. guess i am used to it.. so in the shower i use everytime a shampoo of tea tree an neem oil and wash my hair and my body with it... then rinse the bod and use neem bar soap on my bod and around my hairline where they are causing my hair to receed and fall out. i am going bald :") so now when i get out of the shower from my treatment i lotion with my teatree and neem oil from head to toe except my scalp cuz you cant .. i do my whole bod then it keeps the body clear till the next day until the creeps crawl off my head and down onto my face and around my eyes,, and this is the freaky scary part to me is that they will go into your eyes and can cause river blindness and the worms can go into the organs such as lungs but not usually the heart.. they are essentially heart worms... so this is a serious matter.. in dogs if they make it to the heart and meds kill the worms they go into the blood stream and can hit th e heart or brain..in humans they aret supposed to make it to the heart..but heck for ever i was told i had lice or that i was crazy as they checked my hair fr lice... I took my meds tolday my stremectol and am praying for a solution... it is a fate worse then death !! Scabies are a curse and i am praying this works onmy scalp... but the other stuff i did mixing the oils and doing my entire body worked.. i tell you what ..if this works i am doing a flippin documentary on Scabies.. cuz the doctors just dont get it... it is in epedemic form and they are misdiagosing just cuz they havet had to deal with it... man it freaks me out !! something as simple as scabies and i have lived in hell now for over a yr cuz they are uneducated on it !! wow... good luck everyone..i know first hand it is helllll !!

you do sound nuttier than a fruitcake and you sound like the same person who has been posting for over a year now with the same story, same rant. Most derms have been trained to treat scabies. They already know that not everyone presents the same symptoms. They usually don't think you are crazy, but, if they did think you were crazy, they would GO AHEAD AND GIVE YOU A FEW REFILLS OF PERMETHRIN, the standard treatment for scabies. They will not give you ivermectin, unless you ask and discuss it, and, unless you have a resistant strain of crusted norwegian scabies or have a compromised immunity. They certainly will not give you a shampoo and send you on your way. FRUITCAKE ANYONE????
where do you get off saying they are nutty? who are you to judge? these mites will make you a nervous wreck and i doubt this person is coming on here to be judged by you but maybe a little understanding ! And let me tell you first hand.. yea i went to a dermotologist and guess what? they didnt find any..then i went to a dr a week later and they did find em..and lots of em.. so your dermatiologist theory means squat ! And if you dont have anything productive to add then shut the heck up ! These flippin bugs make a person already ffeel nuts without someone like you addin to it..

It makes me wonder if it's always been around but doctors brushed people off. Only thanks to the internet do we realize it's not just me.

In my searching. the Mayo clinic is been one of the few places that take this type of disease seriously. It's a shame they only exist in Arizona Florida and Minnesota.

That said, I've yet to find many stories from matching areas. It seems so isolated to a few people per region. I've also asked many family members and their friends if they even known someone and the answer is no. Most stories I find all begin 2004 or later.

I've travelled about 28 states in my life and to UK once but never run into this before. And since being affected, I've met and known many, just in the town I live now only. I find more and more stories like mine on the internet every day.

Could be worse I suppose. We aren't super infecting everyone around causing hysteria... yet anyways.

Did it work are you cured
