Sorry to hear your problems. I thought I had scabies also but after more research and many attempts to get rid of them topically, I realized I had strongyloides stercoralis. It travels under your skin, scalp, legs, feet everywhere. You need to do research from doctors out of the country. The dr. in the US don't have a clue how dangerous this parasite is. You can pick it up from an infected beds or many other places. It is very difficult to get rid of buy topical creams will only give you temporary relief because they are still inside your body. good luck

I just figured out that Microban x-590 institutional spray kills scabies a gallon at Grainger is 77$ and put it in a pump sprayer and you can spray mattresses, furniture, bathrooms, you name it google and read about it

Hi..I wrote a post but it isn't showing...so, here is my problem...I think my homes duct work is infested w/ these mites. I had them cleaned but it didn't help. Heat, high heat, seems the only way to truly kill these horrors. Has anyone else faced this? I keep getting re-infested w/ these mites. Only thing which has helped my sores to heal is the concoction of horse paste, alcohol, and antifungal. I iron everything i wear, sheets etc. I change my a/c filter every mo. Vacation Evey night before bed...I've done everything to remove them from my life...but 2+ yrs later I still have them.
Would love any/all suggestions on my duct system ...ty so much!

. You can go online to Canadian pharmacy and buy ivermectin pills 1 ml per 10 pounds of body weight. I took 1 dose every 7 days till gone. The alloVera gel mixed with anise star essential oil kills the ones you can see now and also clears up the sores I use it a lot of time through the day it is magic. I also make soap shampoo with the anise oil the oil burns only if the mite and eggs are present. Good luck hope you get well soon

I suffered with scabies for a very long time. Family didn't believe me, drs didn't believe me. I would sit on the shower floor naked tears running down my face while my kids would ask me what are you doing. I'd be in there for hours. I cry as I write this. We didn't have "typical sign and symptoms" I most def have them in my face. I think after a while they were everywhere even inside, inside of me. I just got the horse paste a few days ago at my feed n farm store. I've spent probably thousands of dollars on neem oil, tea tree oil, diatomaceous earth, peretherim cream that I had to cry n beg the dr for. I even made my friends with insurance go get rx for me and paid their copays n stuff. I literally think I went crazy for awhile. I couldn't go to work u laid on the couch and cried. Did the 5% p in my kids and they said mommy are itchy is gone but I couldn't get rid of it and reinfected them :( so now I have to use more chemicals on my babies;( at least it's summer break and they aren't missing school. Anyways I think this is the only solution against these 2014 mites these guys are getting more aggressive and more sneaky at hiding who and what they are!

My suggestion, tell your doctor someone in your family has it, then they may be more willing to say you may have it. Some doctors are unhelpful & ridiculous.

Absolutely NOT TRUE! First, B17 isn't a vitamin. Second, it is so toxic to some that it is fatal. The contents of B17 turn in to cyanide! And finally, clinical trials prove that this does not have any effect whatsoever on curing Cancer. There is no evidence it has any effect on Scabies. So suggesting this is irresponsible and dangerous because many here are desperate and will try anything.
Excuse me but, B17, apricot seed does , in fact, cure cancer. My brother was diagnosed with late stage lung cancer...he ate the seeds for about 4 months and, when he went back to his cancer doctors, they found no evidence of cancer and, it's been almost 6 years and, he's alive and doing great! Do some research before you post!

This is nearly a year since you posted. How are you? I suffered a bad injury and was in critical care for 3 weeks in August '14. In Oct. of '14, I somehow contracted scabies - so I say. Doctors are clueless. They do not agree with my ID. I guess I got it from nail salon. Perhaps from trying on clothes? It's now June 1 '15. Still have it. Awful. I was on a med' that is bad for your immune system and liver, but had to do it for the brain injury in Aug 14 to Oct. I healed. I felt fine...and then BAM. Creepy Devil Bugs. Try this...I'm just trying...When you think you have a large area of eggs, put 35% food grade peroxide on the area. OW!! But, I think, I really do think, that it kills the eggs in a large scabies nest. No long-term skin damage. Safer than bleach.

I went around for two months thinking I had scabies. My doctor refused to see me because he didn't want them in his clinic (which, by the way, could cause him to get his license pulled). Finally saw a doctor who sent me to a dermatologist. It turned out to be bird mites that came in through a hole in a casement window from the hedges, where birds had abandoned their nests. It is now almost three months later. The apartment manager and the maintenance man were never bitten when they came into my apartment. They assumed I was having a nervous breakdown.

The dermatologist wrote them a letter asking for fumigation. The apartment manager resisted. She's never seen anything and was never bitten in my apartment. It took my dermatologist to literally threaten them to report this as a public health issue to get them to take action.

Scabies might respond to pyrethrins. Birds mites don't. Pyrethrins repel and scatter bird mites. They do not kill them. Here's what I learned:

1. Don't assume it's any particular bug. See a doctor. Different types of arachnids have distinct types of bites. An experienced dermatologist can determine what kind of bug you have.

2. If the mites don't respond to Ivermectin, then if you are self-diagnosing, there's a good chance you do not have scabies. See number 1 above. I took a lot of Ivermectin, and thought it simply didn't work.

3. You must kill all of the mites in your house to get rid of any type of mite. If you have cardboard boxer in your closets, clutter anywhere, these critters have a place to hide. No matter what kind of fumigation you use, it won't be effective unless you get rid of the clutter. When they say empty closets and drawers they mean EMPTY.

4. The second exterminator who evaluated my place said the reason I cannot get chemicals as strong as I did years ago said that many of them are being taken off the public market. People have used them so much that "superbugs" have developed. So legislators and public regulatory commissions have relegated what used to be common chemicals to licensed exterminators only. You can't get 15 percent Sevin at the garden store anymore.

5. That means that if you have bugs that are resistant, you have to call an exterminator. The kind of chemicals used to kill bird mites are not generally not available to the public. If you have scabies and pyrethrins are not working, you could have superbugs and need an exterminator who is licensed for the types of treatments you need. Make sure that the exterminator is licensed and competent because the first guy they sent out here implied I was crazy and stupid, and that pyrethrins will work on anything. He's lying. He's got a license that only allows him the use of pyrethrins, and he was not competent or licensed to handle any kind of mite problem. Make sure you ask, "Are you licensed to handle alternative pesticides that will kill _______(whatever you have). All states have registries you can access online to check the license.

I hope this helps those of you who are as desperate as I was. The licensed exterminator comes next week. Wish me luck.

2 cups borax, 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide, 2 TB borac acid, some citrus dish soap (all available at Walmart) in a hot bath, let skin air dry. Twice a day. If you mix the ingredients with some coconut oil( cooking aisle at Walmart}, you can use it as a body scrub and leave on your skin for 15 min. I do 30 min. It will burn at first, but very helpful. Shower after the body scrub. I got some benzyl benzoate online (google the instructions) and used once a day and for spot treatments on the itchy spots. Some burning but only in certain areas where you sweat. I bought invermectin 10% from Amazon with pretty good results. I mixed with oil (coconut or baby oil) and applied all over as a separate treatment. This was over a couple months, don't use everything together. My skin is very sensitive and had no problems, was desperate for a cure. Just make sure you wash bedding every day, normal mopping and vacuming. Mostly emphasis on your body.

1. when i take the stromectol and it kills the mites, what happens if i touch other clothes or lay on my bed which still have the scabies down in them? will i get reinfected? or does the stromectol stay in my system for a while, and kills scabies that try and come back.
2. now that i have taken the stromectol, does it kill EVERYTHING? like what happens if it kills the scabies but not the eggs. they are guna hatch and keep reproducing. its like a never ending cycle.
some one please give me answers. this is literally eating my alive. its all i think and talk about. it has made my skin ugly! so please, help me

Hi,
I don't believe ALL my mites were dead after taking the "prescription" Stromectol. I did it two times. One week apart both times. So, for one month, I did the prescription kind.
Now, I am doing the horse paste - 1.87% Ivermectin Horse Paste.
The worst problem I am having is my hands/fingers were FULL of mites. They have been SO painful that touching ANYTHING hurt!!! I have at times 10 bandaids on my fingertips! They like the hands, as we touch everything. Even the other sores on our body, scratching, etc.
I think that might be a question for your pharmacist and for yourself to see where you are, physically.
I still have little mites coming out of my skin as well. So does Patty. So ... it is going to mostly be up to "you" as to when "you" think it is safe.
It also depends on how LONG you have had the critters. Patty has had hers 1 year, me, I have had them for 3 years and just got diagnosed with Morgellons Disease. It is still a mite - the CDC has NOT come out with ANY type of report as to exactly what it is since 2006 when they first started their study. So ,.. how long have you had then? If it is only a short time, then you might be okay. Others of us have been infected for SO long. If only you knew HOW HARD it was to get my Dr to PRESCRIBE THE STROMNECTOL!!!! WOW!!! It took 3 WEEKS from the time I asked for the Dr to CALL the insurance company!!! It needed a pre-auth!
Good luck!
IZO
You need happy jack sardex 2 spray from tractor supply Co. It's active ingredient is benzyl benzoate 29% which is a very common and very effective treatment for the mites. It kills them quick and is much less irritating to the skin than permetherin. It seems to work best when u spray it on thick and don't rub it in very much and let it air dry for maybe 10-15 minutes and do it again as many as 3 times total. For 15 bucks u can get them off your hands almost overnight. Then wear latex gloves alot to keep them off while u treat elsewhere.

Conver your body neck down in vaseline 2 times a day. This really works!! I've had this plague 8 times in the past few years and vaseline works, but at the same time wash your sheets every night and every clothing that touches you in warm water with a cup of bleach on the long cycle and then a very hot dryer. This means 2 loads of laundry every day. I also take ivermecrin at the same time. Two tablets before bed and then 7days later again two tablets. Keep washing everything for 3 more days. Also cover all your furniture and CAR SEAT in plastic and then put a sheet over them. Change the sheet every day. This will do it!
