I've been battling scabies for about five months. Had misdiagnosis in the beginning from walk-in clinics and primary care physician (folliculitis, bacterial infections, etc).

Saw a derm in early-April who determined I had scabies. Began treatment withth Stromectol (one dose) and Peremethrin (two treatments). Thought it worked but then crawling sensations began. After a second visit to the derm, was treated with Stromectol (one does) and Lindane (one dose).

Cleaning habits were so-so during the first round of treatement. Cleaning habits during the second round were rigorous: new sheets everyday/mite cover washed with Windex and Diaotameceous Eath, clothes washed and then put into freezer for 24-48 hours, Diatomaceious Earth applied throughout home, some body treatments of Grape Seed Oil and Diatomaceous Earth, alcohol rub-down on computer and car, etc.

I'm starting to not only get crawling sensation again but now I'm itchier and it seems like I'm re-infected.

HELP PLAN MY NEXT TREATMENT/DETOX

This time, I plan on trying two doses of Stromectol and two does of Peremethrin but this time I'm going to leave my house. How would folks recommend I schedule (in what order) the following:

housecleaning service at home
steam cleaning service (carpet/furniture)at home
apply first round of meds
rent a home in the mountains and stay there for a week (two weeks?)
rental will have hot tub and sauna
apply second round of meds
return home

Side note: I've started a Candida diet just in case so I'm cleansing at the moment no sugar, carbs, or dairy.

Did you start feeling the crawling after the perem cream? It could be the cream causing you to feel crawling.
Also you must treat your face and scalp docs will tell you neck down and that's horrible advice. Also when your in the hot tub I would put Vaseline from the neck up so the mites won't crawl up to your scalp.
Since you only have have two doses of each I would recommend iver 1st and perm 3 days later then 7 days after 2nd iver and 3 days after 2nd iver perm again I would actually treat with perm 3x I know someone who there derm had caught scabies 2x and he always recommends 3 perm treatments.
I would treat with iver I would also leave borax or DE all over your house before you leave. If you want to have a cleaning service clean your home that's up to you but if you sprinkle borax and DE all over I don't think it's needed. If you leave for two weeks they should be dead if you are indeed dealing with scabies and not some other mite.
Also I would bring 14 outfits, underwater and sleeping clothes and put all the dirty clothes in a black trash bag and if your able wash clothes before you leave the cabin with borax. Also I would bring extra sheets to change into...also some cheap shoes that you can rotate and soak them in bleach...also after the perm I would take a nice hot bath with Epsom salt it will help repair your skin faster. Good luck!

Thanks Beckie + Fred!

@Beckie- The crawling occurred after the perm treatments and I'm aware the crawling sensation could be a reaction to the meds; however, I'm starting to get a pustule or two on my butt again and they itch. Nothing like they did months ago I'm suspect. To figure things out, I'm going to see an infectious diseases doctor, prior to my trip, to test for scabies. Appreciate your advice on treatments and cleaning. Thank you!

@FRED- Reading your thread now.

Good luck, let us know how it goes. If you have pets you need to treat them also.

Hi LezDolt, have been battling an infection similar to scabies [but hopefully on homeward run now]. One thing I found was that it becomes worse before it gets better. They have to come out and may do so biting, and theres also the possibility new eggs hatching after treatment. Hitting them hard is better that one or two ineffective treatments spread out over too long a timeframe.

A warning to everyone:

Do NOT use Canadian Health and Care Mail when ordering medicines.

They have failed to send me my medicins twice and it is now TWO month delayed!!! TWO MONTHS!! And they do NOTHING to repair the damage. Totally worthless. So a warning:

Avoid CANADIAN HEALTH AND CARE MAIL when ordering medicine!

They are so bad that it must be on purpose, somehow they might hope I will give up and they can keep my moneu. Noone - noone - can be this incompetent!

For all those who fight scabies for years - scabies is not that hard to get rid of!! You probably have a parasite that also infests the blood or tissues if you cant get rid of it (if you have cleaned really, really good and washed Everything and taken ivomec and something else as well, that is!)

Perhaps Strongyloides or another nematode infection disease or, Eccinoccucus or something else. Borrow a good book about infection diseases (borrow at a medical library, the ones the med students use!)

Also a warning when you order medicines:

You may also have some form of post-Scabies itch syndrome. Remember: you cannot "feel" the mites crawling around in or on you--it's just itching that you feel in response to the infection. The itching can persist for weeks, even months after being successfully treated. People have reported having the itch and various other symptoms (e.g. nodules on the skin and genitals) for a half year after treatment. It sucks.

this is what we are doing, and get u a black light bulb for lamp at Walmart, n white lotion.. this is how u can see them n know if what u do works! put the lotion on n hold bl couple inches from ur skin, n e white specks u see,if they move easily w ur finger, probably lint, if not, those r the ones u wanna get rid of! everyone in the house, whether symptoms or not, we was just doing dawn baths, n could see it was killing them, but for me, not as quick as i wanted! tried bath w bout 2 cups Epsom salt, cup table salt n half cup dawn.. i checked my skin right after n all specks were gone! i washed all bedding in borax n arm n hammer det, n i add fabric softner, n a little dawn also on hot water, n put everything thru washer n dryer, or bag it n put it out of the way for couple weeks. after bedding has been washed/dried first 3 days, every morning i put it all in those space saver bags n spray Lysol in there n suck the air out. i sprinkled borax on all carpet, n in the living room only left it couple hrs before vacuuming it cause of baby n dog, all other rooms left it on carpet couple days.. n e pets be sure to b giving dawn baths too, they can't live n breed on them, but they can get on them just like clothes n furniture. we used dawn n salts mentioned above on ours.. we used clean disposable gloves to do laundry n clean, i would spray the gloves on my hands w Lysol frequently, n spray all furniture n beds.. i put borax on the beds before putting mattress cover n bedding back on. our biggest battle has been getting those around us, neighbor n friends/family to treat! not everyone w scabies show signs! i know this for fact! was covered in them for 8 months, n never itched or anything.. only knew because our baby would have reactions to them.. no one else in our house showed any signs, n doctors would of said we didn't have any! we were all covered! i know premethrin cream does not work! i don't know bout the other stuff though.. we have found something that did, n cheap n not all those crazy toxins, n we stuck w that. if u know u get rid of them for sure, but keep getting them back, think of those u been around, that seems near impossible they not have them, but don't have signs/symptoms, n stay away till they check w black light n u know they have, or stay away from them! these buggers been round 1000s yrs, they adapt n become tolerant to things that may use to kill them.. good luck, n any questions i will try n answer n help.. i have been adamant on trying to help cause i have seen how they do our baby, n my sister, who brought them to us unknowingly, doctors kept diagnosing psoriasis n eczema..
