It says here to take it on an empty stomach with a glass of water.

and I agree with taking it on an empty stomach with water.

My child took Ivermectine on an empty stomach, in the morning, 1 hour before eating.

Its in progresses thread. I took it at night with a glass of milk.
Or butter.

At night aprox 9pm so its most active after 4 hours, and in case it gave me the rare headache. Also drinking grapefruit juice keeps meds in your system longer.

I took it twice from a doctor oct 2008 and then I bought apple flavored at the feedstore and took it 25 days straight may 2009 sometimes a double dose.

I have taken it occasionally since then. It gets rid of vibrations under the skin which I suspect is bugs hatching or maybe tunneling. I am hoping 1 tablespoon foodgrade d.e. with liquid on empty stomach will be a better natural lifelong alternative. Well see.

The manufacturer states in its info pack on its website: "The safety and pharmacokinetic properties of ivermectin were further assessed in a multiple-dose clinical pharmacokinetic study involving healthy volunteers. Subjects received oral doses of 30 to 120 mg (333 to 2000 mcg/kg) ivermectin in a fasted state or 30 mg (333 to 600 mcg/kg) ivermectin following a standard high-fat (48.6 g of fat) meal. Administration of 30 mg ivermectin following a high-fat meal resulted in an approximate 2.5-fold increase in bioavailability relative to administration of 30 mg ivermectin in the fasted state."

I'm taking it tonight but not sure if after a high fat meal means immediately after, 30 min after, an hour after etc. Anyone have any info? Should I take grapefruit juice with the meal or with the medication? THANKS!

Thanks sufrin I followed your lead and took it right after McDonalds burger. This is my second dose of Ivermectin and used Permethrin as a topical (fourth time using Permethrin, which I was alternating w clove oil which kept them at bay at first then they slowly got a real foothold). This time I put the topical on my scalp too, before didn't and just drove them there. Are you taking Stromectol or a veterinary version of Ivermectin? If you are taking Stromectol and are within a couple hours drive of NYC would you be willing to share the contact info of your Dr.? I'm not ready to move to pour-ons and internal vet meds quite yet...but time will tell!

I'm taking the vet version.1% Im 4 hrs north of you but cant recommend my derm as he's useless.he thinks i have atopic dermatitis which is a form of exczema.my bodies reaction to the scabies has given me exczema also but exczema treatments have failed miserably.when i tell my derm the only results i get is from oral iver he sais "its a mystery".its not an effn mystery i tell him as iver has never ever been used to treat exczema.5% perm also gave me temporary relief and its a skin irritant.he misdiagnosed me and is afraid to admit it.i also think hes afraid cuz he doesnt know how to cure scabies that arent cured w 2 treatments of 5% perm and 2 treatments oral stromectol and this guy went to Harvard. google scabies studies and read u will find md's knowledge on the subject pathetic.
I could walk in my derms office w 6 foot scabie hanging off my neck and he wouldnt acknowledge it.I keep going to him just to keep my case documented but i continue to make appts w other docs just in case i run into someone brilliant.just bought a microscope and soon will start my own skin scrapings.
right now im doing the oral vet iver and manuka/tea tree oil treatment topically.ive had good results last bite was like a week ago and it was only 1 bite.my skin is 90% healed.in 3 wks going on vaca going to continue current treatment thru vaca then stop.if im cured yay for me,if not moving on to big guns like MW77 cure, faeries cure, progress' cure and as always paying close attention to RK and the eprinex/DMSO thread.

Hi sufrin, did read Progress' thread when I was first diagnosed along with almost every other major thread for general background. I could probably use some review though especially as I inch towards the situation of most on this forum who have had the standard protocols fail!

So this time when I took the Stromectol/Permethrin I was fine that first night but last night I had three of the worst stings ever...woke me up feeling like a killer bee had stung me. Could this possibly be a large female mite dieing in the burrow? Leaped out of bed ran to bathroom to try to find the mite and couldn't. Or do you think it is a mite from the environment that found its way back to me? It would be so hard to believe these stings were "post scabies", but then Progress really thinks post-scabies is a real phenomenon.

I did so well last week after my first round of Ivermectin and last week I took it on an empty stomach. Makes me wonder if after the McDonald's burger was the way to go but then they did do that study on high fat meal vs. empty stomach for efficacy.

Take your dose of ivermectin about two hours after a high fat meal like cheese, sausage, French fries and so on ! Fat is the best vehicle for the delivery of ivermectin to the outer layer of the skin and via sebum to the hair follicles where it poisons all the feeding or roaming mites.

Wrong med! The high fat meal goes with albendazole / Valbazen. Not Ivermectin. Eating a high fat meal with Ivermectin will only make you fat.

The most recent and best topical on the pharma-market is DIM. It kills the suface dwellers in 15 seconds and the nymphs in the hair follicles within about 15 to 20 minutes. It's nontoxic and you can apply it to your skin several times a day if needed.

I am posting science not opinion. This drug could even cure those posters whose brain got fried by ivermectin injections beyond repair.

Oh my brother, Betsey Bee !
Your advantage is that you have no knowledge on scabies -- but you are posting permanently! That's okay, because you are a chatter shaken by prejudices !!
We have been heavily insulted by you - that's American politeness, obviously,
We tried to help and got offended. Would you help it you got insulted? NO. We won't either!
But we do not leave, we are doing our posts - and that's it! Take it or leave it!
Oh brother, you even don't know that iver and perm are nontoxic !!--*/ lmao
Purchase some books and get educated! It's never 2 l8 !!
P.S: We can bear your Insult, b/c you are no adversary.

Dimmy...WTF is DIM?

Also, why am I reading two contradictory instructions:

1. Take ivermectin on an empty stomach. https://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/...

2. Take it on a stomach full of high fat meal. http://www.merck.com/product/usa/pi_circulars...

What am I supposed to do???
