Tea tree oil has NOT been proved to kill scabies!!

It's ONLY CLOVE BUD OIL that does!!

clove oil works too i think

but clove bud oil is what they tested in the study.

I also read that it takes perm 4 weeks to kill 90% of them

ONE perm treatment killed only 30% at 1 or 2 weeks

but by 4 weeks 90% of scabies were dead.

i don't understand this... can someone please explain????

4 weeks, only one treatment ... it was in a med article:
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/2188239

someone explain please???

Tea tree study

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15148100

There are more studies out there you just have to find them, please stop freaking out and do some reading on this forum or online before making bold claims.

You have posted numerous times and what your writing shows you are not reading the material available for you to answer your questions.

Keep calm and do your treatments properly as directed.

firstly you need to moisturise your skin. Put the clove oil and some tea tree oil in the moisturiser.Put this on morning and night. Do not have a very hot shower. Your skin has reacted to permithrin. You will need to follow up with another treatment of permithrin and mositurise your skin again. Your mother needs to treat as well. 7 days apart max 3 times.

Clean your environment using the options available on this forum. As for the cats, do not touch them or let them go in your room. Limit the areas where you go, close the bathroom door etc. The permithrin will make your skin crawl and you will be itchy. Use the moisturiser. Stop putting straight oils on your skin.

Just wash your clothes normally and let dry if you dont have a dryer, rotate your clothes every 5 days. Focus on a plan without panic. Stay clean, moisturise and do your treatments. After a few weeks your bumps will go down. You will feel better but still crawly and itchy. By then if you have mites there wont be many.

I recommend you get a skin scrape while you have bumps straight away for when your skin heals the doctors can't do anything.

You will be fine. The beginning is the worst but it will get better.

There are several studies apart from the one mentioned (Walton et al 2004). Go to http://www.attia.org.au/search_abstracts.php on the Australian Tea Tree Industry Association (ATTIA) website and type scabies into one of the search fields then click find. There are 8 listed including 2 by Walton et al.
Good comment @Scabiesxnightmare and thanks for the support!

Heya, thanx for the feedback!
Interesting how one paper actually talked about the killing of Larvae, nymphal instars, and adult mites, comparing different products.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/10748911
normally the testing is done on adult mites!
cheers :D

Thanks. But what about the article I posted about perm only killing 30% but then it changing to 90% in 4 weeks without a second treatment ?

Explain?

I had a new outbreak of creepy crawlies with some red lines and a couple bumps here and there.

What is this?

I fell thick things in my eyelashes and kinda nose. Is this something? Is the bite on my face that appeared at work at 2am a scaby? Or was it a weird pimple appearing over 10 mins only?

Clove oil helped. Means scabies?

My scabies have never been on my hands or normal places. Doctor said probably animal mite but he doesn't know - perm healed the bites I had

Have those treatments helped? If so repeat but how ling apart are the breakouts, if only a few weeks apart I would permethrin cream in between.
Also make sure your bed sheets, duvet and coats etc are cleaned and washed. 60-90c and I even permethrin powder over mattress.

Needless to say, any scabies occurrence can be a nightmare. Somehow contracted this parasite beginning of FEB14 thinking it was a rash. Went to doctor for diagnosis early MARCH14. Prescribed Permethrin 5%. Worked great for the original affected area but somehow the mites found a new home further down my legs. I've gone through a total of 7 tubes since initial treatment. I must have post scabies but it seems they are surviving Permethrin 5% and spreading still. Mid APRIL14, did some more research regarding natural medicine and came across TREE OIL. Picked some up at CVS, took a hot shower, applied generously to body. Felt and smells AMAZING! Kills mites in one hour. No itching. Done. Recommended 4 times daily for 10 straight days. Problem solved. Of course do the bed sheets, bath towel, and routine wash daily as well. Permethrin 5% is great for one or two applications, but follow up with TREE OIL. You will be pleasantly surprised. And enjoy a glass of red wine.:)

Imo the cause of treatment failure is reinfection from cats.

I searched for STUDY PENETRATES EPIDERMIS "ESSENTIAL OIL"

Tea Tree oil:

2008 Science Direct research paper states only 1% to 4% penetrates epidermis.

98% of the oil evaporated in 4 hours ... may explain treatment failure in real life

I was feeling very hopeless & I donít have a lot of money to get all the stuff Iíve read on here, so I just did the Advantage 2 for extra large dogs!!! Iíve done it 3 times so Iím hoping I wonít have to do anything else. Iíve done a lot of things & I was going crazy!!!! After I did the Advantage 2, I have totes calmed down.
