no, no... you weigh 140. take the 0 off, and you get 14. that is 14 or 15 mg.

5 of the 3 mg. pills is one dose for you, every 7 days for a month.

Do a random call to a clinic and ask the dosing question to a qualified nurse or doctor.

Okay, here is the correct dose for iver.

you take 200 micrograms per kilogram of body weight. you have to convert your weight into kilograms, by dividing by 2.2.

150 divided by 2.2 equals what? about 70 times 2 = 14 mg. or 15 mg.

The Centre for Tropical Medicine here in London which prescribed Ivermectin for me obligated me to take it on an empty stomanch (2hrs after eating 2 hrs before). I've used it for roundworm, an aggressive, nasty infestation picked up in Africa. 12 mg (Iweigh65kgs), it did the job, but the side effects have been severe b/c yes it depends how infected you were. Violent hallucinations, numb hands, high grade fever (had that going into it so no problem there), liver pain, headache..its intense but it works. There can't possibly be anything alive in my belly anymore.

It is a great product but depending on what you're suffering take with care and be prepared. Coconut juice for hydrating, accupuncture for liver and joint pain, headaches, have been dream relief for me.

no hallucinations, no high grade fever, and no numb hands. maybe a headache. you must have been sick with the parasite or highly infested, because iver doesn't cause these severe symptoms for scabies.

Just a suggestion from someone who fought lice(scabies are basically the same thing) on and off for several years with my teenage daughter - you may want to spray everything you can get your hands on with Rid or a generic form of Rid. I am talking about everything, like your seats in your car, the seatbelts, chairs in the house, even the ones at the dining table etc., the chair at the computer, the telephone, even the toilet! Although they say lice/scabies cannot live on some of theses surfaces, they can for a short time because they don't die immediately after they leave your body. If you are re-using pillows, put them in the dryer for a good amount of time, then put them in a trash bag, tape it up, then put the pillow case on. Also, only use bath towels once. After taking the Iver, you should use a clean towel after your next bath and use a clean one everytime. It's a good idea to boil or get new hair brushes, I'm not sure about scabies, if they can get in brushes or not.

the worst i've experienced from Iver is a rapid heartbeat once but it wasn't remotely serious more than odd at the time. Otherwise i take the horse paste straight. If anyone is using a different type of Iver and is more effective than the apple horse paste please post the link to purchase it. Thank you.

Any info greatly appreciated!!

Ok, so I was told Ivermectin would cure pinworm in about 5 weeks taking it for three days every other week for like 5 weeks and using it as a topical cream mixed with like vaseline or something for anus and vagina but now I found out Im 8 weeks pregnant and am thinking to at least use as topical cream cause I cant sleep at night without garlic in my but all day all night and its driving me crazy cause when I tried to sleep last night they bit me and I had like 7 pinworms come out and lay eggs in ONE NIGHT!!! Until I put garlic in my anus again and than I could sleep so I am sure this will effect the vitamins the baby needs and I wil be miserable and when the baby is born I wont be able to breast feed and isnt that worse?? Ive read mothers in Africa take it and the children are born with out defect. Sooo anyone ever take it pregnant and can tell there truth about what happened after... Cause even Crack doesn't hurt all babies, smoking doesn't and I don't do either, Im healthy just want to take Ivermectin for relentless pinworms.

Im so sorry I used crack as an example but Ive just seen so many reposrt on children born with problems to healthy parents and bad toxic parents get Harvard Graduates that end up becoming better than you and me! I want to have my baby and my house ready for the baby without being terrified the baby will inhale pinworm eggs in the house that I may be a walking germ during pregnancy in the doctors office possible infecting other mothers to be when I can just take and apply Ivermectin and be cured and have my baby and not wear under wear with jeans again!! I got pinworms in Georgia cause that state has less health regulations I think... and I had cancer at the time so my immunity was weaker.

I used ivermectin for over a month, combining pills with topical lotion. The main side effect of the lotion was an intense stinging sensation after about two hours of having the stuff on. So it's best to put it on before bedtime and make sure you're asleep before the stinging starts. Otherwise, it will drive you crazy. Regarding the pills, I took double the recommended dose every time and never felt any side effects, although they don't mix well with alcohol. Once or twice I took the pills and then went for a beer, and ended up vomiting later that night. So don't drink alcohol with the pills/horse paste. Otherwise, it's all good stuff.

The horse paste seems to affect my eyes. I am increasing my DE intake.

It seems the "rash" on my leg does not ease up. The DE and Grapeseed Oil mixture is healing the scabs.

Dear Mother to Be, Have you checked with your gynocologist? That is the very first thing you need to do. Just eight links before yours on the beginning of the Scabies Forum is where I posted about Ivermectin Warnings. You can always find the link by checking at the top of each page and follow the blue link that says: More Scabies Discussions.
Anyway here is the link to my warnings: http://www.topix.com/forum/health/scabies/TTM...
that were felt personally by me. Some people have no problems, some do. I'm not trying to scare you but really please check with your gyno as you are pregnant. I know I've seen reports that it says it might be safe to take it while pregnant. But still, when in doubt at least see what they have to say.
One person on earthclinic.com said they got rid of pinworms by using Noxema. Here is the link: http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/pinworms.htm...
Another person got rid of them by using some type of onion juice, scroll down to pinworms: http://www.earthclinic.com/Remedies/onions.ht...

Here are more links (including the first two up above) for you to read for these things: http://www.google.com/custom...

Good luck and good luck to sweet baby.

James, No side effects for the Iver, for me, except at first itching from the die off. That makes a lot of people think it doesn't work, because you are going to be itchy at first. And will have allergens for a few days. Also, at some later point when all the ones on you are dead, when you are first "cured", you can get a massive itching on you from even one new mite that finds you in the enviroment.(Watch for this, one dose of Iver as a "morning-after" dose will help this reinfestation). Reinfestation is from an adult or junior mite, which Iver can get. This kind of mass itching is a warning. And it means you are down to no mites, that's the good news, and reinfestation is usually a huge itchy warning, so save a moring after dose for that occurance.(It's too bad Iver is not ovicidal. Then it would be a one dose thing, with a 9 day followup to make sure that all the environmental ones are either dead or back on you in time for the second dose). I think you should think in terms of a 28 day full life cycle if you've been infested for a while. If you had them over a month, you probably have a 28 day supply of eggs from the about-to-die-of-oldage mites. You also will have younger mites with fewer days supply of eggs. You will feel better in a few weeks, but the eggs of the oldest mites will still not have hatched yet. If you only have four doses of Iver, then take them seven days apart. We aren't talking about horse paste here are we? Because it's not even labled for mites. Ideally, I think that it is best to get all the adults with your first dose, then three days later, get a bunch more new hatchee adults, now the population is getting under control, then every five days for the rest of the month. That should also allow enough time to let the environmental mites back on and on and before the last dose.(Your environmental mites will really diminish by the end, dead or back on you). P.S. I strongly believe in topicals in between Iver doses. Perm or sulfer. Also, Iver works better if you grease up, with lotion or something to keep it in your skin. Get some plastic gloves to attend to your personal hygine. Better than washing your hands, as washing the skin also washes out the Iver. Don't shower for 24 hours. Drink grapefruit juice all you want. Eat a long, long time after, have the emptiest stomach possible. Good luck!
what amount of Ivermectin pills are you taking? Safe for children over 4?

Judy, Welty is long gone from this forum. I think she took the horse paste. The problem with Welty was her cat. She kept getting reinfested from her cat. She eventually gave up her cat to her mom, and then she stopped posting on this forum. Ivermectin is okay for any child who weighs 35 pounds or more. Consult with the pediatrician.

The dosing depends on your weight.
150 pound person, should get 15 mg. or 5 of the 3 mg. pills.
A 40 pound person would get one of the 3mg. tab.
A 100 pound person would get 3 of the 3 mg. tabs (in one dose).
Repeat the dose in a week.

This is the dosage for scabies. 200 micrograms per kilogram of body weight is the correct dosage for scabies.

Joe or anyone else,

Has anyone tried using Ivermecting every 3-4 days and did they have a better response.

I did the Ivermectin for the 2nd time on day 4 ( day 1 and Day 4 i took 24 mg each day ). I had a couple of bites yesterday on day 4 ( noticeable bites ) and still feel things crawling around.

The worst part are my feet, I am currently living, working in S E Asia where there is alot of rain and very humid.

Should I treat every four days and if so, how long? My feet are badly infected with this thing. Joe if you are there, please respond or anyone else who knows about feet infections and has tried Ivermectin every 4 days vs. the usual 10 days.

Some people on this forum have taken iver. once every 3 days for an extended period of time, and were cured. But, they also stayed in different hotels and threw away their clothes, in order to not get reinfected, etc. The eggs hatch every day, so they are not all the same age. I have heard that iver. doesn't kill the mites that do not have a fully developed nervous system. That it only kills adult mites. So, I think this is why my vet told me to give the pets the iver. again in exactly 14 days. I have spoken with people who have told me that some of the show horses have to stay on iver. for their entire life, because of a certain worm that is very difficult to control. My derm told me that they put HIV patients on iver. drip when they are really sick and hospitalized. In a perfect world, without the threat of reinfestation, a few doses should do it. But, the scabies mite seems to be developing into a super scabies mite and sometimes it's very difficult to completely get rid of them. You have to be diligent in your environment. Sam used to soak his feet in warm borax water. He would put vaseline on his leg where the water line meets, so the mites would not reenter at that point. this helped clear up his feet. the mites can live up to 30 days, so you would want to cover that time period. Use a good topical in addition to the iver. Buggie took iver every day for 30 days straight, and almost did it. But she got reinfested.
