The dermatologist cannot find scabies in his tests. The nurse told me I have a yeast infection. From what I have seen on the net, scabies, yeast infections and diabetes all work against you at the same time. I washed with hydrogen peroxide and then applied coconut oil. Got loads of relief but still don't know if this is hellorjustpergatory. Lord have mercy on us all.

I used the p cream and itching more than the scabies..and have black spots everywhere..similar to blackheads..DO NO PICK THEM..n I've spent close to $2.000 on this condition..I thank the internet for my scabies progress..my primary doctor of 20 years told me I could only get scabies from sex..NOT TRUE.so I went to a dermatagolist and he said I don't have scabies.either but prescirbed the scabies cream...I DO HAVE SCABIES WHICH I RECEIVED FROM A co-worker.PERSON TO PERSON CONTACT ONLY..my entire life has changed and getting bullied by the workplace scabies carrier who has infected 2 other co workers..it been over 2 months now and don't understand why doctors are knowledgeable about this serious contagious and curable condition..I. could probably have gotton 10 abortions and 10 pain pill prescriptions b4 I could get diagnosed..I would never do either but trying to make sense of it all and still suffering..
Scared mother

My sister and I recently took my mother who has primary progressive multiple scholrosis to her doctor find out her body rash is scabies. She had been in denial about even having a rash. My sister and I were able to recently gain custody of our 15 yr old brother from her. He is in placement with me. Mind you I had been bringing my mom to my house periodically to visit my children over nights. Just befor we found out my mother had scabies my month and a half old baby had what I thought to be heat blisters all over her body. We went to her doctors where she said it was an allergic reaction. To say the least that's what it was. To scabies. In my house hold its myself my husband. We have an 11 yr old a 9 yr old our baby and now my brother. I went to the doctor and got the permethrin cream. My husband refused to believe it was scabies. He said we are too clean to have it. The amount of laundry I have been doing is absolutely insane. I feel as if I can never stay on top of it. After what seemed to be us improving I crawled into bed with my husband after putting the baby to bed and woke up with new bumps. I was so mad at my husband. He now believes and went to refill the cream and let me treat him finally. After the kids and I go down town for more Lysol we are all showering and I am treating us all again. I feel as if I'm going to go mad. I feel like such a failure as a mother. Like my baby would have been better off if I'd given her up. I'm afraid to even pick her up in fear ill reinfest her. I just can't take much more. All the praying in the world isn't helping. I really appreciate everyone's stories on here. I at least don't feel so alone. This is by far the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. And the worst part is my mother refuses to believe her doctor and will not follow through with treatment. She has terrible yellow patches of infection. Because of this I cannot allow her at my home. Nor can the children mine or her son I recently took in can go to her house to visit. It's like I've lost her to this bug. Her living conditions are deplorable. But she's too young for a home. She is unable to care for herself so even if she tried she couldn't treat herself effectively. Why don't we have better easier treatments for this?

Ah I totally applied perm cream twice all over, except for the hard to reach or unaffected places. I'm so dry and irritated my skin is not happy, but the bumps seem to be gone all I see is a red rash but no signs of new bumps...gotta give it some time and tomorrow I will be seeing my doc again. Good luck! I hope scabies can ffff off these bastards need to LEAVE

Also, I recommend if you feel like your having a hard time trying to get rid of it....go to a hospital or get a hotel room and treat yourself away from anyone who might have it...or tell them to do the same. You shouldn't have to bend over backwards to treat yourself but if your loved ones are also infected they need to be treated at the same time and be isolated for 24-48 hours or longer, depending on if they have new bumps do not have close physical contact until all bumps are gone. Yeah I too wish they had some magical pill or bath (not ivertmicen or whatever its called BC that stuff sounds like treatment for more complicated scabies infection) that will just cure you instantly. I really want this to be over so I can move on with my life.

Get some borax (not boric acid) and scrub yourself with it, im not a fan of the permethrin cause its a pesticide, it will help a bit with the itching. I found a website called earthclinic.com that has lots of content about scabies.

I finally got to my primary physician's office and she was VERY worried about the infection. By this time the back of my leg was so purple it was almost black. It was also warm to the touch. She said the scabies were gone. I was placed on Bactrim 800/160. She also gave me an antibiotic ointment for the infected part only. I was also put on bed rest.
I came home and freaked out thinking I still had scabies and rubbed Perm all over again that night. I woke the next day even worse. I had a rash on the tops of my feet, behind my ears, on my belly, thighs, forearms, bicept area - all of the places I made SURE to rub the Perm lotion on. There were none on my back and none on my face though - the places I didn't rub it.
I went to my primary again and she said, "I think you have contact dermatitis." Duh. Why hadn't I thought of that?
The difference with this rash and the scabies was that the rash did not burst and ooze after the Perm. It was as itchy and awful as scabies though, with bumps too.
Here's the best pic I could get of it on my arm:

Then I found this website and realized that the Permethrin was what the problem was. I had overused it in my itchy paranoia. I began to treat my skin as kindly as possible immediately. I discontinued the antibiotic ointment. And I took a nice oatmeal bath. I kept the area cool as best I could at all times. When I was warm, the itching was hell. I covered myself with Cetaphil lotion and it was very soothing at the time.
Now, I'm still healing. It's been almost 3 weeks since the first bumps appeared. Only in the really scabies affected areas do I have the worst damage. Here are pictures from yesterday.

After the first application of Perm it caused my skin to be leathery, red and dry. Now it's becoming more supple, but it's still so dry that it's scaly. It's still itchy but I can see it getting better slowly every day. I use Palmer's cocoa butter on the worst parts. I use Neutrogena's Light Sesame Oil everywhere else. Some parts have entirely cleared up.
I hope that someone will stumble across this post and get the help or encouragement they need. This was the worst thing to ever happen to my body. I'm not unhygienic, live in a very clean home, and have no idea where I got scabies from. If this sounds like you - try to relax. Stop over treating yourself and be really good to your skin after Perm. Good luck!
THANKYOU! I am going through the same thing at the moment and I have found my skin is so itchy and there are bumps all over it at the moment and was considering another application of perm because I assumed the scabies were back but after reading this post I am not so confused and will just be patient as you suggested. Thank you so much, I am so glad I searched for this!

Same thing has been happening to me. I have used too much of the Permethrin, reapplying every time I felt the itching again, but after a couple of weeks my red bumps were disappearing? I started to realize I was over-medicating and I stumbled upon this report-read the side effections section:

http://www.webmd.com/brain/permethrin-cream-5...

It was a vicious circle-I was Perming when I itched and the itched was caused by the Perm

Ok I have had scabies since October of last year and didn't know it until jan of this year.i thought it was a severe case of eczema and kept using anti itch creams etc...went to a dermatologist in jan she told me I had them so I used the cream like prescribed got rid of them but they came back And I recently just did my second treatment along with mys son. I never knew if he had it or not but had to treat him as well. After his second treatment he started breaking out under his arms all the way down his side with huge pimple like blisters and I don't know how to get rid of them but he says they hurt really badly. Not sure if anyone else is havin this issue but if anyone has any answers or suggestions please let me know. I have been battling this for seven months and I now have a phobia of touching anything without being afraid I'm goin to catch it again.

Thank you sooooooooooo much. I had this EXACT reaction. I've been considering going to urgent care cus after using perm the 2nd time I've been breaking out in pinhead rashes and itching every night. My dermatologist didn't think I had scabies but gave me the cream anyways without testing my skin. I had broken out in red welts on my scrotum (which are still there, but smaller) which looked exactly like the scabies photos I had found online. Anti fungal creams didn't work which is why I was sure this was scabies and not a bacterial infection. After the perm I saw a whole new set of skin problems and dread going to sleep every night. I already have eczema/dermatitis which is why all of this is that much more complicated. You are an angel for posting this. I feel so much better now.

Ok. So, well, basically, I need help because I am freaking out right now and it's past 3 in the morning. I think I have scabies. It started as bumps on my arm, not clustered, just bumps. I thought they were mosquito bites, so I disregarded them, thinking they would disappear over time. This about, I think, sometime during the month of January 2014.
And they are still on me, as of the moment, and it is June now. Six months after.
The bumps were itchy, very itchy, I remember, and every day they appear on different spots. Again, not clustered.
Scratching is common, so, in effect, it has gotten worse. Fast forward, they, to put it simply, covered me, in cluster, and some of them were oozing, releasing this sort of honey coloured fluid. Even the sides of my fingers were covered.
So, I went to see a dermatologist. She said I may have contacted scabies and gave me some lotion and stuff to be topically applied and pills (Ceporex and anti-histamine).
She prescribed me to take the pills 3x daily and apply the ointment. I failed to follow it, because it was, well, soooo expensive. Ha. And I'm jobless. But whatever dosage I must have taken, the clusters began to dry up, some bumps disappeared.
I assumed that it was healing, so I stopped taking the pills. I was also thinking about the side effects of oral medications. They returned. Went back to the derma. Same prescription. Didn't follow. Again. They disappeared. They returned.
As of this point, I am trying the natural method of curing it. I tried mixing penicillin with coconut oil and applied it directly to infected areas. The infected areas swelled and oozed and bumps, lots of bumps, appeared, thus making me paranoid of mites running about and making loads of tunnels whatever it is.
On my arm and elbow I have tried applying coconut oil mixed with calachuchi and penicillin. They're still swelling and red, so red. Both my elbows were covered with it I can barely stretch it.
I have already taken anti-histamine but the itch is persistent. I mean, I have taken anti-histamine before and the itch disappeared, but on this case, it is persistent. Could it be the post-scabies stage? Or is it really scabies in the first place?

LISTEN UP!! Everyone, go to Amazon and look up "Kleen Free." It is a natural solution to scabies. It is made up of enzymes that will kill these mites. You can spray it on the skin and it will kill them within a few days. It's natural and non-toxic. You can spray on your furniture, bedding, clothes, and it will not harm your pets. Look at the reviews and read up on it and find out for yourself. It works. I'm using it right now. I'm also using sulfur soap 10% and after 3 days now these mites from hell are dying. Go now. Go to Amazon and write in "Kleen Free"

odd, my post from yesterday is gone! not rewriting my story but it echoes Reina's for the most part. Bottom line is be careful that you are not confusing post scabies with the bugs--they are similar in intensity and sensation. Our hypersensitivity following scabies may trick us into overtreatment thus prolonging the skin issues.
