I had scabies for three months. I have psoriasis which is what my dermatologist thought was acting up. Finally she realized it was scabies and treated me. After five treatments with perm I chose to stop treating. It's been two months and I still get itchy and get bumps now and then, but I know it's post scabies because it is in no way as bad as it was before treatment. I used to have to sleep in the tub to get sleep. Now I sleep completely fine. It's an allergic reaction and the more you use the perm cream the more you damage your skin. I've read that post scabies can last up to seven months. Awful, but I think the longer you went without treating the more you skin was damaged. F$&@ scabies, F$&@ perm cream. Worst thing I've ever experienced. Good luck to you all out there.
I agree it is so hard not to reach for the permethrin everytime a new bump appears . i am now about 8 weeks since my last treatment and I get itchy if I wear certain clothes and still have one b ump on my belly thats not itchy but doesnt seem to go but im now glad i didnt keep retreating cos i think the permethrin does work if used properly and u dont get reinfected by someone

Hey guys. I'm not sure if I'm cured or not, but I'm pretty sure I might still have them. I still use vaseline and sulfur on my skin after a daily bleach bath, and I always discover tiny white specks on my skin once the concoction is rubbed on. I don't get pinpricks, but I still feel some crawling on my skin and I have patches of tiny, clear bubbles on mostly my arms. I've given those a good scrub with acetone, yet more keep coming around the old spot treated areas. I've also just noticed, today, that I have one on my thigh. Is this a post scabies rash?

Hi all,

My last treatment with Per was exactly 4 weeks again. I followed exactly the direction of my doctor but idk why 2 days ago, i started having a really BAD break out with all the red spots around my belly, thigh, hip, legs and arms. The spots are like holes with black dots on it. Idk what to do but hoping i am not reinfected. Does anyone experience this ?
:((( i am so hopeless

Ah yes!! I had that before I started treatment, it was from the mites burrowing into the skin layer and therefore you kinda getan itchy red raised bump with a scab like dot or center...don't be alarmed. When it comes back its hard to tell but if you have only treated yourself once with perm cream I'd recommend getting more cream whenever possible and using all of it and maybe treat yourself again for the third, fourth, or fith time. Having these buggers is not as easy thing to get rid :( some people just can't get rid of it that easily.
I'm already feeling better and see less bumps now, actually none! But the other day I noticed two on my thigh, small spiderlike bumps...eeven if it wasn't scabies I still treated it...now its gone. Just keep applying until you see no new bumps, if the problem doesn't go away you may need other treatment methods for this or see your doc

Thank god I found this forum and don't feel alone in what I'm dealing with. It's been going on for seven months and only a few days ago did I finally get a diagnosis. I've been treated for so many other skin issue's and nothing's helped. I've been living in hell with almost no sleep all this time and am lonely from isolating myself because I didn't know what I had and didn't want to spread it to anyone else. I've now done one treatment of the perm cream and idk if it's helping and have to do it again once more next week. I unfortunately had a severe horrible allergic reaction to the ivermicten. I'm literally crying right now because I no longer feel alone in my suffering. Any tips suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated especially since my so called well renowned dermatologist took this long to finally give me the correct diagnosis after begging him for months for him to scrape it and look at it under the microscope. I feel like a female version of Job but instead of having boils head to toe it's itching head to toe!

Be cautious! Just a couple of mites will ruin all your efforts w/in a couple of weeks. An impregnated female could ruin your future, either!

Make sure you're treating your hair and scalp too. Also, if you have pets be sure to get treatments for them as well.
Good luck and let us know how things are going :)

The earlier you get your dog, cat, or guinea pig treated the sooner all of you will be free of the mites. Treat your pets or companion animals asap!
