My two year old daughter and I were diagnosed with scabies about a month ago I've used perm two full tubes between the two of us bleach baths and all but we never had skin scrapings or anything.... When I itch is when I get the small bumps some seem to grow like a mosquito bite but then goes away after I've stopped scratching. My poor daughter has scabbed up her legs scratching so much I feel so terrible that my daughter is going through such hell because of these chaos making home wreckers. I need help I'm at wits end and I've done what I was told but she still gets the itchy bumps. I use lice spray on what we have touched and my bed I use bleach and water to clean hers. I'm at wits end please I need help I don't know what else to do!

Hey Mommy. Go ahead and give your daughter a 10mg. tablet of Zyrtec, citirizine, each day to control the itching and rash due to the allergy caused by the mites in her skin. This will make her much more comfortable, and you will be able to establish how much of her symptoms are post Scabies, which for some people can go on and on. Also, take a 400mg. capsule of Goldenseal each day for six weeks to repair the skin, and boost the Immune system as well. I would also recommend her to have ONE Neem leaf capsule and one turmeric capsule a day for six weeks-no more without taking a month off. Now, continue with the bleach baths once every three days. Use Clorox only because all bleaches are not the same. Never put more than six ounces of bleach in a bath, and just let her take a normal bath in it. If she is taking the Citirizine, Zyrtec, and the herbs, you will soon see that it is much easier to determine if she still has active Scabies, or just post Scabies after effects. She will be fine, just keep treating with the bleach baths, the Goldenseal, and keep the beds and the clothes washed in very hot water. Try to live as normal as possible while doing these things, and take the time to have a little fun time with yhour little girl. Some people just do not want to use the bleach baths, but if you stick with it, they DO work. It can take some time though sometimes. You may want to try the permethrin once or twice more, but I would stop there with that. Goldenseal capsules can be bought at Wal-Mart, as well as the Turmeric capsules. Your local health food store can provide the Neem capsules. If they do not have them in stock, they will gladly order them for you. Do not buy your herbal capsules from the Internet. You don't need to spray down your whole house or anything. Just vacuum, and keep all of the laundry done, and the beds washed at least every three days. Good Luck from one mom to another. This method worked for our family, so I just happen to know what I'm talking about. I suspect that some of the people on this Forum have something other than Scabies, which would be very unusual. Don't believe everything you hear.

How can you tell if its post scabies or not I rarely itch anymore but at times I do but never at bed time and usually I stay inside. My daughter and I are getting over a cold but yet I'm still having less reaction than her. This is embarassing but it was on my bottom and after first two treatments its never came back no itching or anything it just was gone. I feel horrible I want to cry because I can't make it go away faster I don't want to use toxins on my daughter or myself bleach water is bad too but its in pools as well so once every few days is not bad right?

Confused mom I am sorry you and your daughter are going through a hard time. I am a mother of three and I am going through the same thing. I used the perm cream and in like 2 or 3 days I did it again which I probably shouldnt of done that. I was freaking out. I told myself were we did so much cleaning that they was back on us. The last time I treated was on thye 3rd we are all doing better I think in my mind I should treat my family one more time even though we are getting better just in case so I think ill do that tommorrow night and then Im gonna give it a month and see. I know you will still itch for a while and it is so confusing to know if you still have it or not. For the past two weeks I have threw our beds and anything cloth away. I make sure to clean everything we touch everyday and I change our sheets everyday. I keep our dirty cloths in a trash bag they never hit the floor. I even keep our clean cloths in a trsh bag. I even took all of our pets to the shelter because I am treating a family of five and I just couldnt help us and them to. My son had it the worst and he had scratched his skin his skin looked horrible. I have been ribbing him down with hydrocortisone cream and it has helped his skin alot. I wish you the best take care of yourself and your little girl. The cure gave you some really good tips. Being healthy helps fight these monsters. All 3 of my kids are on vitamins I just got the ones that had the immunity boost.

My real name is Jeannie AKA The Cure. I decided to use my real name because The Cure sounds like a rock band from the 70's. LOL. I typed out two very long posts to you just now, and I must have a glitch in my computer because it will not post, and then wipes them out! Let me try again after I get some coffee or something. Frustrating.

Mommy-Go to Patty, P.S.; a thread on this forum and listen to the Christmas Songs that benG and Aaron posted. Ever hear Jim Carey try to sing? Got to see these! P.S. It is too soon to tell if the permethrin has killed all of the mites and eggs yet, but there is no reason to beleive that it did not yet. No two people react to Post Scabies OR Scabies exactly the same way. S'ALL RIGHT, KAY? We'll be checkin on ya. Waiting is the hardest part, but permethrin works for MANY.

Mommy, P.S.S.-it's not bad, right. Stick with the perm for a while though, it could very well work.

Does scabies allways itch?
No. Like all reactions to allergens, it will depend on your immune response. There is a typical presentation, but it is only that.

I had mostly individual nodules to back of neck, scalp and shoulder blades. After a few months of thinking it was bed bugs or bird mites I had started to get them under seams of clothes, one on my wrist and some in the groin area and realised it may well be scabies. By this stage the top of my shoulders was inflamed and felt like plastic to touch but still no discernible rash like the pictures.

I never really itched that much until they started showing up all over, but there was a wriggling sensation that would last a few seconds.

After I used the Permethrin I had bumps coming up all over the place that I didn't even realise I had. These were in the more traditional places: groin, back of knees, near (but not in) armpits, bra line, etc.

So yeah, it can be tricky. I personally think we're culling the mites that show typical symptoms as they are diagnosed quickly and killed off, whereas those that present differently are more likely to survive to the next generation. Evolution in action!

People on here are great with their info, so very helpful. I know I will not be one of those people to slash people because they arent getting rid of them. Their are so many types of scabies the perm cream doesnt work for everyone. I think people are great to share their story. Im praying the perm cream works for my family as it does fot some.

I think the cream will work for you because you have not had it very long, and because you are a vigilant cleaner, and because you are young and healthy. Not to mention you got your hands on enough cream to cure a small Army.LOL!

I know I cant believe that I just got five boxes filled yesterday and all five boxes has 4 more refills thats crazy but i am glad they made a mistake and i am more than happy to share once we are all ok. my husband has good insurance so it costed 20$. I think that they had to of made a mistake because i dont think a doctor is gonna write you five tubes with five refills thats 25 tubes. Once my family is done Ill try to help someone that is less fortunate. It may not have been a mistake I dont know.

I think it has to do with how long you take to write the answer. Most likely because of the number code security.

If I take more than a couple of minutes, I now copy the response, refreshing the page and paste it in again to post. It seems to work fine.

iv been dealing with this for over a year now. What's worse is the number of people I have infected along the way. Most of my family members, co-workers, and friends. Iv used EVERYTHING!! I started with perm, tea tree oil, lavender oil, citris oil, lemon oil, witch hazel, alcohol, spraying my body with Lysol, chlorox baths, sauna, neem oil and soaps, sulphur soap, wrapping my body in saran wrap, petroleum jelly. The list goes on. I thought I won this war many times, but then a person around me begins to scratch. I can be completely free of rashes and bites, but people around me continue to scratch. After 6 months I was over the embarrassment and would tell people around me that they might have scabies, if they were scratching. So many think I am just paranoid now. They argued that they were bit by a mosquito. Iv spent close to 2 thousand on medications and remedies. I went overseas, again thinking I had beat this thing and gave it to my host family. I must have a superbug because I don't have to touch a person to give it to them. That's what Dr.s don't understand. My aunt also started getting bites and scratch marks all over her legs. She claimed they were mosquitoes. She was going to the Dr for something else, so I told her to mention for them to check for scabies. The Dr checked the hands, and asked her where she got that idea. She told him it was from her niece. He asked for my age. And of course I am in my early 20s so he explained to her that I probably had it, because it is considered an std. He asked her if we shared a bed. We don't, so he reassurred her that she had nothing to worry about. He never scraped her skin to check. Iv seen ppl start scratching their elbows when I havnt even shaken their hand, after only talking for a couple minutes. Its really traumatizing. Its affected my quality of life. I don't even hang out with many people anymore. I just closed myself off hoping that after all of my remedies combined they will go away. I am now pregnant, and am hoping that I beat this thing. I wouldn't want the baby to suffer, and I can't go for the interjection route until after labor. I just pray that the baby has not been negatively impacted by everything I use on my skin.

HELP!!!
I've was misdiagnosed with ECZEMA, I started feeling itchy on my chest, noticed what I thought was a mosquito bite (s), then I saw the red scratch marks, that I later learned was "burrows" After months of suffering, I went to my doctor, who sent me to a different skin doctor, whom then diagnosed me with scabies, I had my 2nd treatment last night, left the permethrin 5% cream, I was also given Clobetasol for itching, was given this medicine before diagnosis...
I washed the 2nd treatment off, earlier today..I had a squirmy insect/bug on my arm, it was probably a half inch long, then I noticed I believe was is new burrows on my thighs/leg areas...I did not notice these when I applied medicine last night. I have a cat but when I have the medicine, until I wash off, I won't touch her. I thought we couldn't get scabies from animals/pets?? Google is scary, sooo much info, and confusion. Was I reinfected soo soon? God, I'm so worried about my family members, we're trying the best we can, but I know I most likely didn't vacuum my computer chair or coffee table rug after the 1st treatment. I researched a natural soap by Naturasil. It supposed helps with all kinds of skin issues, including scabies, ezcema, jock itch, etc. It's called Naturasil Lavender Sulfur medicated soap, it's available online to buy, not sure if in drug stores. Can someone please give me advice, I'm still so itchy, and fearful that I might be reinfected, anxious...can't go the dr. til next thursday! It seems so far away...I just want this to go away for good, damn scabies suck! I think I'll have the skin test done, if needed grab some of the soap, I'm desperate to get rid of these sob's :'(
