I had scabies a year ago and treated it successfully. A year later and I'm getting all the same symptoms. I do not think I am re-infested. Is it possible to get post scabies symptoms a year after being successfully treated?

Its Likely you are re-infested. Unlikely post scabies/ Delayed healing reaction after 365 days.

Find the source of re contamination, treat hard and sanitize everything. Envision things that you would be likely to overlook and clean.

If you are ill with another illness for the 1st time in a year?

I really really really hate to admit it but you may be right. I do notice a few trails/burrows and I just thought it was dry/peeling skin.

I have absolutely no idea where I would be re-infested from.

I agree sounds like re-infested. They say you get symptoms in a few days the second time you get it rather than weeks. I think low immunity is a bigger factor than any believes. I don't know were I got mine from either, I live alone and didn't have contact with anyone when I got em. How long did post scabies last you the first time?

It lasted a couple months. I believe it's because I have eczema. I was itch free from about March 2012 to November 2012. Now I have been itching since November 2012.

Recently I've been using what I had left of my Lindane lotion on my hands.(The only place I see any burrows are on my hands) Probably a total of about 10-15 burrows.

I can not for the life of me figure out why nobody else around me is getting it. Or why the burrows are localized on my hands only.

Hi I seem to have a simmilar problem. I first got Scabies years ago from a sexual partner. Not only did it itch, I think i left it so long I could pick off the mites. I first got hold of a very strong and uncomfortable liquid which you painted on (name i cant remember). It burnt. Had to apply that several times before it seemed to go away, but over the next few years it seemed to reoccur, the itch that is and I applied "lyclear" cream to get rid of it assuming that was the issue. I have never seen any mites or burrows/bumps since then.

I have in the last few years gone for long periods without the itch and when i have got it i have used crotamiton cream, which is an over the counter cream that is also a scabicide.

Now I have been experiencing the 'itch' for about two weeks, it is not terrible, but worse at night, possibly because i use the crotamiton cream as it has a soothing almost antihistamine affect. I have the itch in the same places as before, crotch, bum, armpits and chest (which has hair). So I get relief but it is not going away. The thing is i have 3 red bumps that could be ingrown hairs or something, near my crotch but more on my thigh, i did do some hair trimming a few weeks before the itch began and i could have pulled a few hairs out. the bumps are not close together and nowhere else on the body.

Not sure what to do, if it doesnt get better soon I will get the "lyclear" cream which is specifically for scabies.
What I dont understand is that I have not had sex in several months as I am in a long distance relationship, and have not had close body contact with anyone. so I am not sure where i would have gotten it from if i do indeed have it. Would not have gotten it from my partner. Havent slept with them in two months.

Any advice greatly appreciated
