Closer to suicide -- DO NOT GIVE UP HOPE. YOU ARE ON THE PATH TO HEALING. I have also had them since May (actually got rid of them and then got reinfected by being careless). 10% or more sulfur creams help greatly. Laundering and vacuuming help. So does Ivermectin -- in strong enough doses.
I'm sorry for the turmoil this caused/is causing, but you did not intentionally contract or spread scabies, so please don't burden your immune system with more guilt and anguish. SULFUR, MSM, ivermectin -- these will help. Use clean towels and bedding. If you have carpet, use flea powder on carpet/vacuum.
Keep talking, keep learning. Read the other forums on this topic. You WILL get through this and be able to offer someone else hope.
Please stick around. You have much beauty to offer this world.

I have dealt with much in my 56 years.
While trying to NOT sound overdramatic, they have ruined my life. I am allergic to permethrin but have/will continue to use it. Everthing in my home is sealed in plastic, I have been sleeping on a plastic wrapped mattress with no bedding for over a month. I vacuum/sanitize at least 3 times a day. I am allergic to these buggers as well, my eyes are swollen shut, I have golfball sized lumps all over my body, my face is deformed (hopefully not permanently) from this.
I have no insurance, health department will not help me, and have even been told not to come to work (I cannot blame them, this is horrendous). I have tried most of the above, neem oil, tea tree oil, stuff from feed shops.
I have not been able to hug my daughter for months, no one can come to my home, and I had to find homes for my pets. A bit tired of these home remedies, have gone thru all of my savings and nothing works.
I hope I'm not too late. try taking a soaker bath in dead sea salt. two cups per standard tub. Then get a really good coconut body butter add ten percent tea tree oil and ten percent clove bud oil. rub it every where. Rug the oils on two or more times a day. Good luck.

Hello everyone !
I would like to help people get rid of scabies once and for all. This is what you need to do :
1) drink ivermectin = stromectol pills = 1 dosage (4-5 pills) depending on your body weight/height - it says in the instructions in the box on day 1 - the pills kill all of the grown up mites right away but it doesnt kill the eggs
2) clean your sheets, linens, clothes, everything worn in the past week, also wear disposable gloves so as not to touch anything
3) day 2 - take a shower and wipe yourself with a clean towel , then spray with SPREGAL , again change your sheets and in the morning , 12 hours afterwards take a shower , again use a clean towel
4) the spray should kill all the eggs that remained
5) however, just in case (if some of them remained in the scalp or face or hair, that cannot be reached with the spray take the second dosage of stromectol pills on day 6, because the eggs will have become grown up mites by that time but still will have not started the reproduction and the laying of new eggs
* nonetheless, if some of you have been suffering from scabies for over 6 months or even years, scaies will be everywhere in your house, on your furniture, in the shower, on the tables, kitchen, keys, purses, laptops, just everywhere, so you will still easily get reinfested - for you, i suggest to move the house for a week , go to a hotel, they will clean your sheets there everyday, or to your relatives (after drinking the pills, so as not to transfer scabies to any of them) and dont touch them, or have too much physical contact). Once returned to your house, all of the mites will be dead for sure because they cannot live without a human host for more than 3 days.
*also, stromectol pills are not allowed for sale in some of the countries, and some say they are dangeroud to health, so i wouldnt recommend them to children, infants, or very old people that have heart problems/any serious health problems... i did drink stromectol pills and my friend, too, at the same time, and we had none side effects whatsoever. We are both healthy in general and are 22 years of age. I am not a doctor, and consult yours before following my method.
Best of luck to all of you !:)
Hey, this sounds great! I bet it works too, too bad doctors & prescription meds are not available to those of us w/ pre-existing conditions......thanks anyway, I know your heart is in the right place. And yes, I have tried the health dept, they are happy to write a script for 5% cream, I have crusted scabies due to immunodeficiency and that won't come close to helping, the rest is illegal in the US. Unless you know somewhere that one can purchase (Canadian pharmacies also want to see a prescription so that isn't the answer for me either).

There has got to be an easier way.to get rid of these nasty critters. My son is In jail and scabies are running rampant there. The people at the jail either don't care or are just ignorant or both. It seems to me that the dept of health should step in. They won't. Perhaps it's because it's in the state of utah. Who else can I call to get these people the help they need?

Everyone on this site now has OCD. Including me. We all now have mental health problems. We will all think twice before going to stay with someone or inviting someone to stay, or wearing new clothes without washing them. Hotels - nono.

Seriously - no vaccine or something has been found yet? All that lyclear rubbish doesn't work. Bleach baths don't work. Essential oils - purlease! How much money have we now spent on those???? New vacuum? Steam cleaner? New mattress? Sofas? Carpets?

No such thing as scabies insurance to claim the damages ...

Google a human rights advocate in your state and campaign to the CDC. If it sounds like too much hard work, imagine what it's like to claw yourself to death every night ..

You so correct. I will never stay at anyone's home again, nor shake hands, nor use a public restroom just in case, nor a Motel or Hotel Room..unless possibly I know for sure it has been vacant for a month or more.
Today, I'm shopping online at the Medical Supplies Stores and buying paper sheets, paper pillow cases, paper toilet covers to throw away each time you use it. Bought a couple dozen cheap men's oversized tee shirts that can be boiled, I need adult diapers but going to wear them anyway to protect where these Bastards are going. Also, disposable paper foot covers that surgeons wear and then toss. I may end up shaving my waist length hair off yet. Better bald than infested. Good luck to all and God bless you. This is the worst thing I've ever faced and I thought other hard times were bad.

Oops, I meant I DON'T NEED adult diapers, but going to wear them anyway to keep bastards off that area.
Hopefully gone

This is what I've done and hopefully they're gone:

*Permethrin twice
*Clove oil mixed with coconut oil or olive oil and rub on all over before bed between permethrin treatments
*Plastic covered all couches and mattresses and clean daily with clove oil, orange oil mixed with water
* vacuumed all floors and mopped wooden floors with boiling water, metho and orange oil.
*sterilised vacuum canister in freezer overnight
*freeze all shoes worn and hair brushes overnight
*Steam cleaned cars
*wash and dryer all bedding and clothes
*Take garlic tablets
*Bagged up all kids stuffed toys and blankies

What stopped the mite itch was something I saw on another post. Boil some water, pour into a bowl and wet a washer and making sure you don't burn yourself hold it onto the mite bite for as long as you can handle. The change in temp should kill mite and eggs. It stops the itch straight away. Do it on all itchy patches.

I have beaten them, finally. Every quack I gave money to, every post I faithfully followed to the letter was wrong (for me). Plain, simple, CHEAP: Salt water. Lots of it! Salt scrubs you can make yourself with oil (I used tea tree oil, for face & scalp I used olive oil). Bathe/scrub in strong salt water. On the "nests" make a salt poultice & leave overnight. This works even with Norwegian scabies. Be sure to drink lots of water. Any doctor will tell you this is ridiculous. Of course it is, I rid myself in ONE WEEK after 6 months of suffering, spending 3K on meds that did little to help, being treated like I had an STD, the problem was solved with 3 $0.75 boxes of table salt. It dehydrates them, even the larvae. I begged health departments, health clinics, etc. All I could get would be one dose of Stromectol at a time, would beg for the second to kill the eggs I knew would hatch in a few days. It was like they enjoyed my suffering and took glee in denying me the med (it's not good for you!). I was one of those "lucky" people with compromised immune system, no health insurance, and severe allergy to them. My airway closed 3 times thru this and I ended up in ER, they gave me Benadryl and charged me 500 bucks a pop, sent me home. One must still sterilize environment several times a day, clean linens, bag everything, etc. Make a salt water spray, spray everything you touch, it kills them cheap, safe.

Wow, somehow I missed this post, it works. I now bathe regularly w/ sea salt. I lost everything over this! I am now very OCD, I am like Monk now, lol. Everything I touch is sprayed w saline solution I make myself, I will do this for a few more weeks.

I spent 3K, lost my job, am about to be homeless, but I am free, finally! I most definitely have mental problems over this, I act like "Monk" when I comes to these buggers that have stolen my life. Miniature arachnids! Millions of them under my skin. Two words solved it all: SALT WATER!! Screw the "nurse practitioners" at those quick care clinics, 2 health departments denied me treatment, CDC told me to "see a doctor." Right, I am uninsurable and nearly killed myself with the poisons they told me to use.

salt water doesnt work. you need permethrin cream and ivermectin stromectol tablets. these are the meds to take. if salt worked we would not need meds.

Hi everyone
i just want to thank Want to Help for her post as it has help-ed me. Like everyone on here i have been battling scabies for a while, in my case since october 2013. it took a while to diagnose as there were no symptoms and the doctors were useless. they recommended permethrin cream and after countless tubes the infestation affected my whole body and i was suicidal - i'm such a strong character so this is saying something. My way forward was this:
1. TREAT YOUR ENVIRONMENT
a) get plastic decorating sheets and cover mattresses, sofa, chairs, car seats including headrest - textiles support parasites like scabies
b) throw away duvets. use blankets and sheets which you wash EVERY day at least 60 degrees C. Tumble dry at least one hour on very hot.
c) only wear clothes and shoes/boots once and wash or leave at least a week before wearing again.
d) use ivermectin/stromectol tablets according to your body weight (I'm 70kg so i take 2.5 3mg tablets) every 6 days. Eggs hatch in 3-4 days (can be longer). Day 7-10 they become adult, can mate and start the cycle again, so day 6 is good.
e) hoover every day
d) invest in an anti parasite spray, we also used horse lice dust for the carpets.
e) clean door handles, light switches, fridge door, kitchen handles, loo seats ANYTHING touched ever day
f) pillows - tumble dry on hot every day for 45 mins
2. TREATING YOURSELF
a) use spregal. this is available online from french pharmacists. I had to use it quite a few times. It takes 4-6 days to arrive in uk from france. the french method is ivermectin and spregal - but treatments vary from country to country and these are not available in the UK where i am based. this was my lifeline in conjunction with ivermectin. I spot sprayed badly affected areas more regularly than the 8 days recommended. I use the spray for a fully body spray the day after ivermectin every 6/7 days. Both these products are harsh chemicals so make sure you know their impact before you use them. I was so desperate I would have tried anything.
b) invest in a small strong torch, a magnifying glass, a small mirror. If you feel somethig o your skin wipe it with a clean peice of tissue, dont scratch!
c) Use calendula infused oil, hemp oil in conjunction with creams to moisturise and heal your skin
http://monexpertsante.fr/epages/box11919.sf/f...
the above is the spregal link, they do an antiparasite spray too.
I really hope this helps

It is working for me and for my daughter, very well. Permethrin does not work except that it keeps them from spreading (for 12 hours). Ivermectin/stromectol tablets work, if one can get their hands on the right dosage, not possible in my area.
