Hi Slomo: How do you use Benzyl Benzoate. I found that you can order it through a chemical place online. Do you use it 100%? Do you dilute it? Thanks. Mary

I have posted somewhere some info on the use of Benzyl Benzoate. If you are interested/ can not find it I repost a summary. It was in reponse to someone asking about benzoine.
It is effective in killing all stages of mites except eggs.
I theorize that it is not very good in penetrating the layer of skin where mites hide,( it appears it does not work as a stand-alone cure, at least not in a short amound of time. Short, as in 3 applications every other day. Nope, that did not do the trick)

It should be available as a 25% solution. (Ascabiol in the UK) You do not need to dilute it.

Greets Mary,

Typically it is prepared as 25% suspension. You need to shake it before use. the instructions here are from the drug sheet that comes with the OC version i m getting from europe, plus my experience with the drug.

The recommendation is to use it after a bath. The idea is to soften up the skin to make it easier for the drug to soak into the top layer of skin.

However, I would recommend to wait until you are completely dry and cooled off before applying the med. If you put it on moist skin, it may cause a burning feeling like hot coals.

Applying it together with permethrin also causes severe burning sensation, so do not.

If you have a burning sensation, trying to wash it off with water makes the burn 10 times worse, almost unbearable.

Do not get it into the eyes, do not apply to mucus membranes ( inside the nose etc.)

Given all this: You are supposed to splash it on liberally. Wait until it dries, and apply a second layer.

The instructions say leave it on for 24 hours.
This drug is a food preservative, so it does not react with vrious other ingredient. E.g.: you can mix it with 5% tea tree oil, and that is supposed to enhance its effect.

I have in the past, mixed it with a cold cream ( eucerin) half and a half, to make it less irritating. In this case, you trade some effectiveness to make it more tolerable.
I pretty much had to do this for my children, otherwise they could not take it.
From what I can read on-line, it is one of the safer topical alternatives, far safer than lindane, and probably safer than permethrin. It does not work as good as permethrin. Does not kill the eggs, so you need multiple applications.

In my experience, it is a good combo with Ivermectin therapy. I often use it as a preventative half strength, cut with a cold cream and tea tree oil added.
If I ever have creepy crawly sensations, just call in an airstrike ( put the darn lotion on the affected area ;-)

I hope this is somewhat useful,

Happy thanksgiving , Everyone

I have tried everything from Lindane Malathion Benzyl Benzoate etc(only the last Iver that I haven't try because in here Dr don't prescribe it). All of above treatment proven can not kill the mites and our nervous system worsen, please be careful using it. To lessen the symptom I used to bath in tea tree oil, enzyme etc, however still there and desperate me.

It is doubtful the tea tree oil will cure you.

Read the thread on combination therapy.
Get some ivermectin horse paste, or order the tablets from supersavermeds.com .

Also, you might want to post in a relevant thread or start a new one. This one is supposed to be about the study on Ivermectin Resistant Scabies :)

I said this before, I say it again: Buying prescription strength meds on the internet is a questionable proposition. You may get a blank drug, or worse.(No ingredient, or some contamintated crap from the PRC).

Givent the occasional unexplained treatment failures, you have to consider fake drugs even from legitimate sources ( the farmacy). Counterfeit drugs are becoming pretty common.

well i've ben trying for ages to rid them.. about six months.. I ended overdosing on perethrin when I was backpacking around and ended up in hospital on a IV drip. Still have the critters and the dr just keeps saying the cream or ascabiol will work.. but one can only put so much on... back to the DR i go to demand the oral medication and see if that works..

Try Tea Tree Oil and borax for your clothes. Or a product that has tea tree oil and borax in it like Scabies Killer. You can order it online. I used it and was cured in 5 weeks. I have been scabies free since early September

For all those who are ready to blow their brains out due to total hopelessness after weeks, months, or even years of suffering, I want to give you some hope.
I tried premethrin, like 10 times, ivermectin almost as many times (ordered it from online pharmacy), neem oil, clove, tea tree, oils, zinc oxide, scrubbing, saran wrap oil treatments from neck chest to toe, diatomaceous earth, ect. and with no luck.
Finally what worked was returning to God, asking him for help, surrendering to his desire for me to act like a Christian again. I stopped sleeping with this guy (that didn't get scabies) that was not a Christian and changed my attitude back to that of a descent Christian woman. Then, I prayed earnestly and often for help and apologized for my stupidity and selfishness. Now I feel God is with me, helping me, and healing me finally. I vaguely remember being angry with myself months ago for continuing this inappropriate relationship with this man I was sleeping with and praying, "God, whatever it takes, help me to get out of this relationship, even if I have to get scabies..." I remembered that weird prayer months later, and that's when I really realized that I walked away from God and this was his way of helping me submit and return to him. If it helped me end that bad relationship, fine, I guess I needed the scabies...now I feel like God is hearing me again. Before I just felt guilty and lost.
So, if any of you Christians or people thinking about being Christians are out there wondering, why isn't God helping me, ask yourself this, "Is there anything I am doing that is driving me apart from God so that he doesn't hear my prayers?" Remember, God doesn't hear the prayers of the wicked and he hates evildoers. I'm not saying I don't sin now, but I am trying to obey God much more now and now I feel him here with me.
I hope this message helps someone, because I don't want anyone to suffer for nothing. Just turn away from your bad choices and finally submit to the one, loving God, full of mercy and healing.
You have nothing to lose but the parasites!

Funny, my roommate got scabies right after she decided to go back to church. Oh.. lemme guess... it was the wrong kind of church. Or she didn't pray hard enough. Or she didn't repent properly.

The idea of God as some kind of cosmic vending machine granting wishes to those with exact change is repugnant.

If God is everywhere and in everything, then it's in scabies too. Suffering is not a godless experience, and God is not there to deliver you from it. Suffering is half of life. If God is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, etc... then God is as present here as anywhere.

Just under 24 hours since I took my first dose of Ivermectin (Avertol 3)

After around 6 hours I started to feel intense itching so went and had a shower using sulphur soap, and then put Clove Oil on my body. This relieved the itchiness

Before going to bed I had another shower again using sulphur soap. I had an uninterrupted nights sleep and woke up at 6AM

You are not supposed to bath for 24 hours after taking ivermectin.
You have to leave it in your skin and let it work with the natural oils in your skin for about 24 hours. By washing 6 hours after taking it, you are negating the FULL DOSAGE AND THE EXPENSE AND TIME INVOLVED in your attempts to rid yourself of the scabies mite.

You can buy Benadryl lotion to relieve the itch.

But you are just an ivermectin salesman on this forum, so I'm not really talking to you, I'm talking to the newbies who come here to this forum, looking for help.
