I started getting really itchy and seeing some bumps around the beginnng of November 2012 and finally went to the doctor around the first of January in 2013. I knew it was scabies before I went to doctor just because of the online photos that I would see. To confirm this, my doctor took a sample from me and confirmed it to be scabies. I guess the good news is I got a diagnosis and I knew for sure what it was because of the sample they took from me. My doctor prescribed me permithrin lotion and Iverctimen (oral medicine). I did exactly as he told me...cleaned my whole house, did all my laundry, and used the cream about 20 minutes after I got out of the shower. Left it on over night. The first round of treatment relieved the itch almost immediately, but a few days later the itch returned along with a few more bumps. I waited the alloted 7 days and used the cream again. I also finished my oral medicine 7 days after the first treatment. After the second perm treatment...I got bumps on the inside and outside part of my thighs that itched really bad (there were a few there before the treatment, but it seems like the treatment brought out all the bumps on my thighs). Not to mention the bumps on my arms and elbow haven't gone away either. My skin got really dry and flaked off(including black specks that would fall off the skin) and I thought I was on my way to being cured. It's been about 3-4 weeks since I started my perm treatment...it has obviously gotten better than it was and I don't itch near as bad, but these bumps are embarrassing. I was just wondering when do these bumps go away??? A lot of times I will think they are going away because the redness in them will fade out, but right when I get out of the shower they are back red as can be! Sometimes you can't even notice them. Thinking about doing another perm treatment because my doctor gave me 2 tubes. It has been about a week and half since I last used the perm. I just hope that I am not reinfested with these things! ANY ADVICE WOULD BE VERY APPRECIATED!

Wow you are lucky!! Your doc actually have your iver?? Usually you have to wrestle the docs for it!
Make sure the doc have you the correct dosage for the iver it's usually 3mg for every 30 pounds.
3 treatments is usually a good call. Just make sure you treat your face and scalp. The bumps could be post scabies.

I am hoping it is post scabies and I am almost over it. I don't itch near as much as I used to, but the itching is still there and the red flakey little bumps on my arms and legs are what pisses me off! How long before these annoying things go away!??
