Please tell more about the "pin pricks" experienced with scabies

I ran across this forum by doing a search on "pin prick bite." I'm wondering if what I'm experiencing is what those with scabies refer to.
I see reference to scabies happening on the wrist, and I have had a rash on my wrist. However, I haven't experienced the intense itching described, and I have often had patches of psoriasis and eczema over the years.
But what is really confounding me is that in the last couple of weeks I have felt the sensation of a pin prick followed by a sting/burning, sometimes a little itching, and a visible "pin prick" in my skin. This has happened primarily on my arms, chest, neck, and back. The sensation usually disappears after about 15 minutes, and the only thing remaining is a very tiny red dot on the skin.
I've also been investigating the possibility of bed bug bites, which apparently can also appear like this, but I have found no other evidence of them.
Can anyone shed more light on the "pin pricks"? Are they in random places, not necessarily where there is a real rash?(I've never felt them on my wrist.) Do you actually see a pin prick? And can scabies mites or their eggs be seen?
Thanks in advance for your insights.

I also get those pin-prick bites with red dots or what looks like pimples. I believe we had a possible bird mite infestation about 4 months ago (an empty birds nest was found under our balcony and we can hear pigeons around us throughout the day), but have not seen any visible evidence. Definitely have had the crawling/stinging/biting sensation almost everyday. Also, I have noticed several straight line "scratches" with a red or black dot at the end. Have you experienced this? Could this be bird mite evidence or something else?

I have not have the straight line "scratches" you describe. But I am really mystified about these bites. Today I had about 4 different instances of the stinging/burning feeling at different times in the afternoon in a different setting. Each time I could identify the spot by the sting and could see a pinprick mark like a bite. The burning would last about 15-20 minutes. It makes me think I'm having a delayed reaction or have whatever is biting me in my clothing. On my neck area today there were two of these spots right next to each other. I am so frustrated not knowing the cause. I've also read about bird bites and rodent mites as a possible cause. I don't know if I need to see a dermatologist, get a pest inspection, or both.

The symtoms, that the "commenter discredit above, are "not" symtoms of a "nematode" or (round worm), in fact, they are entirely different! The symptoms he discribes, are possibly mites or scabies!
