Bed bugs bites are about 3x's the size of one little scabie blister or bump. But You cannot compare the itch with the patch of scabie blisters! Literally insane...makes a yeast inf. seem like a walk in the park! bed bugs will bite 2-3 times in an area, usually 1/2" between each bite. Itchy more like a mosquito.

I had to stock up a ton of permethrin from ordering online to get rid of scabies eventually. You can buy it without a prescription here http://onlinepillmarket.com/...

Hi Folks,
If you can't find the cause of your itch and there are no visible symptoms - have a think about whether you are allergic to coffee. I searched forever to find the cause of my itch and stumbled over people talking about coffee allergy. I stopped drinking coffee and it went away within days. I recently snuck a few iced coffee flavoured drinks thinking they would be ok. For a while they didn't bother me but then the itch was back. My partner told me to stop being silly and stop the drinks. The itch has gone again..
Hopefully, this might help someone out there because the itch is unbearable!

I've done lots of this close inspection of the skin, finding nothing there, except sometimes a little speck of skin, and those are all over us all the time anyway. Healthy people are covered in skin flakes all the time, especially if their skin is dry. So through a visual check, I've never found any kind of mite over a two-year period of searching, including such things has running to the bathroom mirror to see what's crawling up my cheek. This fact has been one factor that has slowly convinced me that I may not have scabies after all, or any other kind of mite. Coupled with the fact that none of the prescribed scabies medicines have worked in the past two years (even in massive doses), I'm now putting my money on there not being any mites on me at all. I have been told recently by a dermatologist that scabies mites don't cause a "crawling" sensation anyway; they cause lessions and itching, but not crawling. So if you can't see anything, you might want to keep your mind open to having another kind of condition that causes a combination of crawling/biting sensations, itching and lessions. The same dermatologist who said the "crawling" sensation is not a symptom of scabies suggested it was parasthesia due to some other cause, perhaps some systemic illness that has an affect on the nerves and skin. There is a long list, and so I'm going to have to undergo tests to see what I actually have.(Google parasthesia for possible underlying causes.) Just to explain a little further, I should say that I haven't had any lessions on my body for some time, which means there have been no burrows. I put this down to using topicals and sulphur soap daily. If there are no lessions, then there are no borrows. Which means no chance of eggs or young mites, or any adult mites after a while. So why am I feeling crawling and biting sensations? The only answer must be that I have something else after all, not scabies or any other parasite. If it turns out I don't have a parasitical skin infection, I'll be over the moon. Anyway, I rarely bother to check my skin any more. Good luck!
The scabies mites are microscopic. You can't see them no matter how hard you look. That doesn't mean they aren't there. Don't diagnose yourself. Go to a real doctor.

I was told by my doctor to do the permethrin treatment from my neck down to the soles of my feet after a shower. I was also advised to treat all skin areas (crotch and all)with the medication. Once I was dressed in freshly washed clothes, I was to break down my bedroom and clean it out.*I live in a very dusty area.*
I had to take enough clothes for 2 weeks and wash that right away. Then bedding needed to be washed and dried, using hot water.

While I still had the permethrin on, I had to finish cleaning my room. I washed my drapes, vacuumed and even steam cleaned my mattress! After 8 hours, I was to shower off the permethrin and use Cetaphyl restoraderm all over my body, in place of the permethrin. I found that after a shower, I would bleed and I'm not sure if the bleeding is because the mites have been disturbed or the scabs and skin are just soft enough to leak. To save on laundry, I sit in my bath towel and watch for bleeding spots and then bandage them as they show up.

In another week, I need to do the permethrin full-body treatment all over again. All the clothes I wear all in another room. The clothes that were in my closet are all set for laundering - again!

At night, when I itch, I worry that I am being re-infested because the itching is pure torture. I know the mites are microscopic and wish there was something I could do to 'treat' my room and furnishings.

I am lucky that neither of my sons has come down with it but it may be because it's only in my room OR because I have the weakest immune system in the family!*I am also battling cancer, Hep C and cirrhosos.* Oh well, I guess we can't have everything (i.e. great health) but at least I am still living and breathing after being diagnosed with Cancer 3 years ago!

My doctor did give me a cortisone shot for the itching but it only works for so long. Right now, I'm sure the cortisone is long gone, out of my system! I try to meditate to get my mind off of the itching and it seems to help. If I get too itchy, I jump into the shower and use the warmest water I can stand. I figure if the mites are hot, they will 'jump ship.' I wish!

I thought I'd been through worst physical pain but by far, this itching is the worst!

I am horribly itchy after the Permethrin treatment. My doc told me some people react to the dead bodies of the mites (not the Permethrin). Makes sense because my hubby (who had no scabies symptoms) did the Permethrin treatment and has no itching. I've found that calamine lotion gives instant, but short-lived, relief. I tried the egg whites mention above (it sounded weird, but I'm desperate). The egg whites reduced the intensity of the itching, and the effect lasted longer than the calamine. My doc told me to take Claritin, and that has helped too. Good luck to you all, may you find relief!

Bed bug bites are different from scabies rash if you see patches off bites its most likely scabies if it's not in patches its probably bed bugs look between the cracks of your mattress they will be hiding between the cracks and if there were bugs there then lice spray will kill bed bugs it also helps kill mites that's how i got rid of them
