I think you just bullied your way into this forum.
Actually, neither Denver nor I are time wasters. We actually have alot to contribute here, just as anyone else does. You are just coming in right now, because Denver has become disgruntled over everything she has learned from people LIKE YOU.
Continue to hide behind your proxy server. Continue to call people names (if that makes you feel better).

I was diagnosed with scabies over a week ago and I've used peremethin 3 times so far and itchy still mostly at night. Does this mean, I still have scabies or is that the reaction to it working. My baby itches on his face and could not sleep last night. I am still nursing so wondering did He get scabies on his face. Help, are we suppose to put it on the face. My dermatologist said only neck down. I'm tired of this and I need to know what to do.. Any suggestions..

I am battling post-permethrin itching now and here is my assessment based on personal experience and some research.(Full disclosure I am not a doctor but I am a scientist and therefore I think pretty competent in analyzing information.)
1. Many people (including me) have red itchy rashes that are reactions to the medicine IN ADDITION to whatever itching persist from the mites and their shit. My worst itching from the bugs was on my ass and now I have a bad rash on my back. I have a hard time believing that (as some previous posts would suggest) this new itchy back rash, occurring in a place I didn't have much itching before, is caused by remnants of the mites when my ass is no longer itchy at all... Clearly there is something new at play. My guess is that the toxic chemical I rubbed all over my body has something to do with it...
2. People who respond to these itchy rashes that appear after permethrin treatment by retreating themselves for scabies with permethrin or any other drug are doing themselves a great disservice. It seems that many people in this thread who say they have been itching for multiple months are the same people who did multiple treatments in succession. I think this is as clear as day. Permethrin is gnarly shit. That is why it can kill these ridiculously persistent bugs. it would be naive to think it wouldnt fuck you up a little too. Use as little as possible!! But thank your favorite god that it exists too.
3. Distrust of doctors allows people to do some pretty silly things. I get it. Doctors often suck. They think so highly of their opinions they become blind to possible errors in judgment. Plus they are overworked, stressed out and and have to deal with whiny people all day. But dont throw the baby out with the bath water. Western medicine has and continues to do marvelous things because AND in spite of doctors. I read a peer reviewed journal article that said permethrin when properly administered is effective over 90% of the time. That is pretty amazing if you think about it. So instead of running for placebos like tea tree oil just accept that if you are itchy even after the medicine it isn't a good reason to find an acupuncturist.
In summary do not be hasty to retreat!!! Treat the symptoms of the permethrin after effects with cortisone or other allergy meds and do your damnedest not to treat the itching with your fingernails. Wait a month and if the itching hasn't gone away go to your doctor. Or if it is clearly scabies again (night itching in groin etc..) try again. But be ready for the red rash again.
Maybe even worse one.

I'm cured but I didn't have scabies I had rat mites. Rat mite can live off the host for 6 weeks making them tougher to beat. My wife shaved her head that was where we found the last hive. DE on everything "EVERYTHING" really helped kill them off. Good luck. There is lots of cures posted but many only were temp cure new hatches new infestation.

Good luck but Fred. LOL

I came here hoping to find someone who is sharing the same problems that I am. I have had scabies for about 3 weeks to a month, only last week was i diagnosed and treated with the perm %5 ... I did this on day one and aftewrwards was unable to sleep due to the , sensations in my eyebrows and my scalp so I did again on day 4 with the perm and also colored my hair which was due anyway ( but thought the chemicals would kills the scabies if in my scalp... well and after cleaning washing and still baggin pillows up! I broke out in more rashes like pimples, i Have never saw any burrows tho i have read they may be under the skin... so today i went to walmart got the tea oil, lemon juice, peroxide, germ X, bleach and wipes.. I am going to reapply the perm as I am thinking since this is day 7 the eggs may be rehatching?? IM just scared of the allerigic reaction to the perm, I feel these sensations in my eyebrows badly also! I know i am not paranoid! I just want to do this right and know if i am geting well or now! Also from wut i can gather, u will feel the crawlies as feces and dead debri push them selves out of the skin! oh and i got an X-fol scrubber pad to use when i bathe! I have soaked all brushes in bleach and alcohol! This is a nightmare and I am thinking I need the oral tablets inver? reading the post seems to help a bit, except for the ones argueing here!

Well I am so glad that i am not going crazy. I used the Permethrin cream prescription from the doctor to my daughter and I and vaccumed, washed everything etc.
Ever since the treatment (Monday...its is Friday now) It seems like I can feel things crawling all over me it's horrible. Yet no new bumps and my only bump i think I had is scabbed over. My daughter SEEMS to be getting better to but quite hard to tell...she is still a little itchy anyway.
I don't even know if they are gone. I thought with that creepy crawly feeling that they were all over me so i bought tea tree oil and tea tree oil'd everything..bath,made a lotion, sprayed my walls) I even had a idea, i vaccumed my skin to get them off of me,lol. I may sound crazy! But some people don't get what its like to have the feeling of things crawling all over you.
I never felt any before the treatment that I can recall. Then again I never thought I had them.
I do admit i used it repetitively as we had quite a bit left over...we were already covered from shoulders to toes with first treatment so i just thought i would save the rest in case i thought we still had them (its so expensive with no drug plan anyway) so i used it the next night because of the crawly sensation, then cut it open and scraped the remains left on Wednesday...maybe because i wasn't supposed to use it that much i am guessing!I know i am dumb, lol.

have you ever considered lice? or body lice?

thanks for your help, span. can anyone else comment on this? i'm still having trouble figuring out whether the itching after permethrin treatment is due to the permethrin itself or whether the little bastards are still crawling around.

I am about 99% sure I'm scabies free. It's been about a month and while once in a while I still have an itch, it's nothing like it was. I read this message board and got really freaked out so wanted to respond with my story for others who might have the same reaction. I used the cream twice but only b/c it was prescribed that way. I can tell you that had I had 5 extra tubes, I would have used them every day -- that's how sure I was that they weren't working. By symptoms in the first week were pretty much exactly as when I had scabies -- itching, bumps, the whole nine yards. It really wasn't until week two that things even started to look a bit better. I had itching but the quality of it had changed -- it just wasn't as intense and the bumps *began* to diminish. I guess my point here is that you really do have to give it time and even though we sort of assume that something should be different right away, it really may feel exactly the same for 1-2 weeks (at least in my case).

Just found out last week had these nasty creatures. I thought i was doing a nice thing by letting a down on her luck friend move in with us. Boy was i every wrong. Not only did she drain us financially she gave this crap to us. Her daughter had a red raw looking rash all over her body. Mainly on her hands feet and bottom. She told us it was eczema. I even made her take her to the doctor who she says told her it was eczema. Long story short it didn`t work with her here so we madeher leave. Now a month later my daughter started showing the same bumps and rash. Took her to her ped and he said immediatly yhat it was scabies. My husband and i have no bumps. My boys have a very few mainly on hands and wrists and my daughter has it worse than anyone. Her hands are red scaley bumpy and so are her feet. We have done one perm tx and will do a second tomorrow. My question is are white bumps on the hands normal after treatment and if so how long until they go away ?

Back in February my husband had started itching and a few daus later so had I. I went tobthe doctor and she couldn't tell what it wss do she treated us for scabies. We didn't treat at the same time so of course it got worse and worse. Its been 6 months now and we are being retreated but it feels like my skin is crawling. I can barely do anything at times because it hurts so bad. I itch all rhr time and its 10X worse at night. I'm having to take sleeping pain pills just to be able to sleep and even then I'm waking up 2 and 3 times in pain iching. At points in time at night I end up crying in pain. Its to the point where I'm scratching so much I'm causing blood blisters. And pigmentation of skin the darken like I have broken blood veins and even caused myself to bleed in multiple areas. I don't know what to do anymore. I don't think the medicine worked and I can't keep living like this.

Well scabies has been hell for us. 8 months ago I started itching on my upper arm, thinking it was just a reaction to something I ignored it. A month passed and it had just gotten worse, it was insanely itchy under hot water. did some research and suspected scabies, so went to the doctor. He prescribed a cream and we treated that night. Treatment DIDN'T WORK AS I DIDN'T KNOW YOU MUST TREAT YOUR HOME

THINGS THAT WORKED

PUT SCABIES CREAM ON ALL MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY, THAN BAG UP ALL CLOTHES TOWELS SHEETS BEDDING.

START WASHING ALL THE CLOTHES IN HOT WATER, LINE DRY IN THE SUN, THAN IRON EVERYTHING. DO NOT PUT CLEAN CLOTHES BACK IN HOUSE JUST YET, KEEP IN GARAGE OR SOMETHING.

USE BLEACH OF EVERY SURFACE OF YOUR HOUSE THAT YOU CAN, MOP, DUST CLEAN WHILE HOUSE EVERYDAY.

ONLY USE TOELESS SHEETS CLOTHES ONCE, ONCE USED SPEAK IN A BAG AND PUT IN LAUNDRY TILL IT CAN BE WASHED.

VACUME ALL FLOORS EVERY DAY

IRON YOUR MATTRESS!!!!!!

BAGGING ITEMS THAT CAN'T BE WASHED OR CLEANED DOES NOT WORK, I JUST HAD GOTTEN RID OF THEM DECIDED TO PULL A BIG BLANKET OUT OF THE BAG AND BAM ITCHING TWO DAYS LATER, YOU CAN'T CLEAN IT... THROW IT OUT!!!!

Wipe down toilet with bleach after every use

Make a mix of water and tea tree oil and spray everything.

I've also read that latent pepper in a paste on the skin kills them, but never tried.

After wishful treatment, I had a crawling tingling feeling for a little while after.

All the clean that I've stated MUST BE DONE EVERYDAY otherwise you will never get rid of them

Hopes this helps someone out there :)
