No, it was actually a salon recommended to me by a friend. The last 2 pedicures I got were from there (I don't plan on going back!!). There is skin-to-skin contact for about 30-40 minutes on feet and calves....and that is where my bumps started popping up first.
30 minutes of exposure is enough..Man that sucks!! Get some sulfer soap and get on your way of not dealing with this no more!!

I'm hoping I'm already cured. The itch is going away (although, it seems to feel worse when I'm out in the sun in the hot weather). I treated my cats with Advantage Multi as a precaution. Will keep ya'll posted! Now if only these old scab marks would go away-- I look like a freak in shorts!

IT'S NOT FUNNY!!! NO LAUGHING ALLOWED! j/k. Yes, I am pasty white, like Casper the ghost. And to make it worse, I have dark scabs all over. Yuck. Too bad it's 100 degrees where I live- I'm the only one wearing jeans. What can I do to lighten the old marks? Or will they eventually fade away??

Strawberry blonde. Yep, Sac town is very very hot in the Summer! Hopefully I'm clear now and these marks will fade quickly. I wonder if Mederma (cream that's supposed to get rid of scars) or Hydroquinone (cream for age spots) would help.

I sure hope you're right! The past few weeks have been a nightmare. I feel so bad for those that have been dealing with this for months. Do you think I can ease up on the laundry, changing bedding, vacuuming, etc.?

Hey Al and Peachy --
although I have no New bites
I am still itchy
I am not going to lighten up on the house and laundry until after the 3 weeks of house heating and the road trip and the 30 days of sulfur,
then after 30 days of sulfur and no new bites
I will slow down and see if things can return to "normal"
Al- did you continue to feel general itchiness after you were a week into the Sulfur?

I would never ease up on anything. I tell you what I did ease up several times and I was stuck with this for 9 months.

Yes I did up to a month... Sulfer will cause itching. Plus you have to think your skin is irritated from it. I would use a good lotion. If you can pick up a bottle of SARNA anti itch moisturizer. I itched for a good month after I was cured. I assume it's from dead mites and feces pushing out of my skin. Plus your skin is trying to heal.

Did you like the Sarna? I'm trying to decide between that and one of the Aveeno skin relief lotions. I really like the Aveeno skin relief body wash.

Hey Peachy are you single? Have pets? If all the above make sure they are treated too.. If you are married or have a Boyfriend try to stay away until you are cleared. Casual contact passes this crap on!!

Single with 2 cats. Treated 1 of my cats with Advantage Multi (kills mites), but can't treat my other cat due to him being immunocompromised. Will only treat him if absolutely necessary. He is not showing any signs of being infected.

Peachy,
Like I said in my earlier post, Please call the state board of cosmetology and report the salon. It probably was from the foot spa. The symptoms show up on feet and legs. Its quite common in pedicure foot spas they are required to disinfect with bleach after each customer which is a huge hassle.
State board hardly has any inspectors. Google foot spas pedicure complaints and or the salon name. There was a big case in santa cruz some years ago which caused new state board rules.
I'm glad you're feeling better.
